A video marvel!
I primarily use the GH5 for video and settled on this camera after seeing the great footage and comments from users online. For the price, I believe, you won't get a more flexible, robust video camera. Shoots 4k at 60P, shoots 4K at 4:2:2/10 bit internally. It offers lots of flexibility in terms of customization. I found the menu system and button layout very intuitive. I was shooting video on a Nikon D750 before, and this is so much easier to navigate. Plus, it's got a touch screen! There's a reason why the GH5 is one of the most popular video cameras on the market right now.

Best Value camera for video and film making - period!
GH5 - with all the little complaints out there on the web (Auto focus - though I am using it with a Ronin M with no issues), this is an amazing camera for shooting video. I bought two and plan to buy the new Aueva1 when ready. The look is incredible, even at standard HD. Versatility is off the charts. Add a Ninja Inferno, stabilized lenses and a Ronin M, and you are shooting Hollywood shots. Just a wonderful camera. We all need to look back a few years in the past at the technology available then and recognize how fortunate we are to have access to such great products today!

Worth every single penny
I am a professional content creator and have used the GH4 metabones to canon EF for the last 2 years. I upgraded to the GH5 and decided to use the Lumix 12-35 2.8 ii instead of the EF lenses. I cannot believe this camera! Even for stills... I no longer run to my canon. I can walk into any situation and produce amazing video and stills all handheld. The low light is still not as good as the current Sony's but the GH5 can hold high ISOs and the noise has a film grain look to it which is awesome. A massive improvement over the GH4 I highly recommend this camera to everyone.

2nd one, for a reason
This is my second GH5. The GH5 is my 1st Mirrorless camera. In my case I run a Metabones Speedboost .71 and Sigma Art glass. Image quality is very good in 90% of situations. Low light good but not Sony level. I shoot lots of concerts and private events and this unit is perfect. The Sigma Art 50-100 is nose heavy on it so be forewarned. 100% reliable, often upgraded for free by Panasonic with lots of flexibility for professional applications. Although I would describe myself as a video creator the still quality is quite nice if you shoot raw and work the image in post.

Excellent
I'm loving this camera very much. The touch screen is fantastic and speeds up any operation I do. Focusing by touching the screen is one of the best features to have -none of my cameras before had anything like this. The technology is smart and at times, I feel the camera is reading my mind. Seriously, when I think I wish the camera had x or y feature, then after poking on the manual I find it. I've seen reviews online that say the camera has poor autofocus on video mode. This is true, but for me is not a problem since all the work I do is manually focused.

Thrilled so far
As a prosumer I've definitely purchased a camera that exceeds my technical wherewithal, but I have to say I'm loving the GH5. Jumping from the GH2, I was concerned about the extra bulk, but the controls are very intuitive and the body feels great in the hand. Lovely bright screen, intuitive controls ... and the images are beyond belief. Many have complained about the wonky autofocus in video, and I noticed some odd behavior that hopefully will be resolved with a firmware update. Wasn't anything that stopped me from taking beautiful video on a recent trip.

Fantastic camera for an aspiring and pro filmmaker.
Ok, this camera DOES take still photos but make no mistake: it was made for filmmakers. The amount of features that make a cinematographer feel right at home is difficult to list. Personally I love the FOCUS TRANSITION, DUAL STABILIZATION (if used with a compatible lens), DUAL SD SLOTS (you can backup your footage on second card or keep recording when the first card runs out of space). Solid Upgrade for my m4/3rds System
I've been learning and using my GH5 for a couple weeks now and I am very impressed. I am a long time Olympus owner, the GH5 is the first m4/3rds Lumix Camera I have purchased. I have become more open to mixing video in with my still photos and this camera's advanced 4K options are the very best. Still photo quality is also excellent, including JPEG OOC photos. If you are considering this or the E-M1II, I would without hesitation recommend you purchase the GH5 unless ultra high speed phase detection C-AF is your priority over all other considerations.

Defective LVF
LVF was defective right out of the box. When flipped out and rotated forward the image would appear upside down. The sensor that determines screen orientation was faulty. If you shook the camera a little in this position the screen would flip upside down and right side up. I felt it was important to let others know, as this might not be something you test for right away. Hoping it's not a systemic problem. Everything else seemed pretty nice. Amazed how solid it felt in the hand. Look forward to getting a replacement and giving a more robust review.

A significant upgrade from the GH4
The GH5 is a great camera in its own right, but at the price, (especially at B&Hs discount as of Nov 2018), its a fantastic camera. Panasonic really puts a lot of thought into these cameras and have improved so many things over the GH4. The way this camera can be customized is amazing! There are just so many little touches that make you think, they were really serious about making this a pro camera! The 4 is still a great camera (Ill be keeping mine), but the GH5 kicks it up several notches. Loving it!

Still would not trade it for any camera...
... at any price! It does so much for me and then some! Don't let the FF field of view deter you. Get a fast enough lens, down at the f1.2, and you will have problems trying to keep your subjects in proper focus. Outside Run and Gun, with an ND, I still shoot at f4 just to make sure I don't miss my focus. If I know my subject is not moving, I'll use f2.8, or lower, but good luck getting a strong enough ND to reduce sunlight! If I had a gripe. It would be that I only have 1.

Pure Genius
I'm a professional who owns and uses everything from Red, Arri, BlackMagic and Canon---and I seriously love this camera. There is nothing in this price range that has this feature set and quality. Panasonic hit this one out of the park. There are so many features--it will blow your mind. Many of the features you would only find on more expensive professional cameras. For pro cinematographers looking buy this camera--buy the Metabones Speedbooster to utilize your Full Frame lenses.

I would buy this again!
I bought this to film a documentary on a video game. This camera basically thought of everything, although learning it is like a mini class in film school. Luckily, the automatic settings make is easy to use to get stunning cinematographic images. Small and light, perfect for travel and it seems pretty durable. Customization is a must, and you can swap settings between creators and switch back and fourth. I love this camera, and I am glad I waited this long to get into DSLR vid.

I love this camera
So far a real pleasure to shoot with. The menus might be complicated for some, but with some practice they are actually very intuitive. And the video features Panasonic packs on this thing are amazing--display overlays, 10-bit 4:2:2 shooting at 150mbps (with the promise of higher data rates to come), and some lovely in-camera picture profiles. I've extensively used the 5D Mark III and GH4. I keep the 5D for professional photo shooting, but this will be my go-to video camera.

Such a pain.
Needed firmware update to work with sigmaart lens. Slot 1 on the sd card slots gave me corrupt files on a sandisk extreme pro sent them into the sandisks recovery company to be recovered. $400 dollars later I have my files. One week later I'm using a different brand new sandisk card and using both slots to record to both cards for safety and I have more corrupt files from slot 1 and the card in slot 2 in stuck!!! Love my GH4 but the GH5 was nothing but problems

Great upgrade from GH4
I have both the GH4 and now the GH5. Some thoughts: The feel in my hand feels better with the video record button moved to an easier position on the top. The low light capability is improved and the system handles manual cine lenses better when you attach it asks you for the focal length. Still pictures are greatly improved and the autofocus and some cool features that I am still learning. Great camera that will serve me well for the next several years.

Great Camera - Instantly made me more productive
There are many things to love about the camera but I must make note of one in particular. The built in peaking and monitor qualities have made it possible to run and gun with m annual Zeiss glass. I previously depended upon a Small HD monitor. I thought it was great but periodically failed to grab the right focus. I'm not sure of the reason but the built in features in the GH5 surpass the ability of the Small HD monitor. I was extremely impressed.

From Canon to Panasonic
Used two Canon 70Ds with magic lantern and I'm so happy I made the switch. The speedbooster xl with Rokinon Cine lenses is just magical. Just put an order in for the Sigma 18-35 and 50-100, I've never felt so good behind the camera. Vlog is also worth the purchase, color grading is great especially in 10bit UHD :) oh, did I mention VFR? Yea 180fps is no joke. So good. Will probably buy a third one to dedicate to my ikan EC1.

GH5 is all you need!
I use the Panasonic GH4 for wedding videography & I've been saving up for an upgrade for quite some time now, but the GH5 is by far the cheapest dslr for Video you can find. Having 2 SD slots is so convenient, the 120fps slow mo is so crisp and the image quality is amazing. The stabilization makes a huge difference, coming from the GH4. If you are in the market for beefy video dslr, go for the GH5, you won't regret it!

Desde que soy usuario de la GH4 siempre esper?? su sucesora y esta c?mara sin duda es la mejor de su categor?a. Un manejo incre?ble y beneficios que no encuentro en ninguna c?mara de un precio similar. Es verdad ser?a mejor si tuviera un sensor m?s grande pero ya en uso para mi al menos pasa desapercibido ya que la uso en producci??n de VideoClips musicales en donde me da un gran resultado.

Best Camera of 2017
I love this camera, it has improved my films drastically. It's perhaps the smallest and cheapest thing record amazing 4k 60p video, stunning slow mo, especially when recording 120fps, the image is just so crip. 2 SD slots is great to have. It's a great upgrade from my previous GH4 (which I still love.) Hands down this beast is the best, affordable, good looking camera of 2017. #sweepstakes

A tidy little powerhouse of a camera
When paired with good glass, the GH5 is an amazingly versatile video camera for pro and enthusiasts. I shoot interviews, food, and lifestyle videos for work, and this camera does not disappoint. My only gripe is that the 10-bit files don't natively import to PremierePro. Not a fault of the camera, but a frustrating issue that requires converting that footage to ProRes before editing.

Best body I have ever owned.
I had two gh4's before this purchase. I have already sold one gh4 and already purchased a second gh5. This thing is so amazing. I can't telly you enough how much I love this thing. I mainly do video but just did a photo shoot the other day with the 42.5 panasonic 1.2 and wow is all I have to say. 422 10 bit 4k looks great and I'll probably end up getting a third body to be honest.

Powerhouse video camera
The quality from this camera is absurd. Worth every penny. I could sit a tripod on the beach and film 5 minutes of waves and throw it on the TV and pretend its a window looking onto that beach. What Im trying to say is I love it. If I could re-buy I would have added the VLOG instead of the accessory pack. VLOG images come out similar to RAW and are much easier to edit colors in.
