Excellent Camera

Feb 10, 2020

If youre looking for a top notch micro MFT (micro four thirds) camera the Panasonic G9 could be it. I use mine for general photography, but also as part of a more portable spherical panorama set up, either from a light tripod or pole (with 8 mm). The camera can be remotely operated the via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a wireless remote (remote jack on side, I use a Vello remote). Wi-Fi is ok if you want to get in the picture with several other people, bu... Show More

So far, so good!

Feb 8, 2020

I am still learning and breaking in my G9 but after just three weeks, I am so pleased with my purchase. The weight and location of controls/dials are ideal and what I was looking for in a mirrorless camera. I am extremely impressed with the touch screen response. I look forward to learning more about this camera and additional lens options.

Power image Machine

Feb 2, 2020

I up graded from a Olympus OM-D1 to this Machine. I did a lot of reading reviews and talking to owners. The newer Oly Mark all is a great camera receiving a bit better ratings. I do not think the ratings are fair to the Panasonic G -9. Heres why. Panasonic up graded the software of the camera and that up grade more than takes care of any of previous criticism. It give the the G-9 better stills and striking video capability. I have the12-35,8-18,70-100,100-300 Panasonic lens and now have increased stabilization with these lenses.

Great camera. Panasonic Lumix delivers more and more in every model they manufacture. The g9 is the perfect example of the perfect Micro 4/3ds camera. With the Leica/Panny lenses you have the best in photography...To me it just as good as a full frame and more.

Made the switch!

Jan 2, 2020

I had a nikon D7500. I decided to switch to m43 and picked up this lumix G9. All I can say is whoa! This camera body packs a punch. The low light capabilities are very impressive handling 3200 iso with very minimal noise. Video features are amazing and photo features as well. For travel this is the best! So many custom buttons can be configured to your liking. Change any setting on the fly. Theres lots of rumors about m43 out there... dont believe them because this camera is a beast!!!

Firmware 2.0 makes this camera as good as the GH5

Jan 2, 2020

I have and use the GH5, this G9 with new Firmware(2.0) update focuses faster then the GH5, the ergonomics are better and the G9 is a better hybrid camera for both still and video. The recent Holiday deal made the purchase a no-brainer.

The camera from which I upgraded is an Olympus ED OMD - EM1. This camera has been a great one. I plan to keep it as the value to me is greater than the price I would get by selling it The Panasonic G9 provides dual stabilization for my Panasonic lens. It is an outstanding stills camera ,plus now with latest firmware upgrade is very good movie camera. It gives you the opportunity to make excellent pictures. camera. The camera fits my hand and the shutter is very quiet. This is a quality machine.

Amazing Camera

This is my first professional camera, and I'm really pleased with the results, I did used Panasonic cameras previously but this one is a game changer, The controls are solid and the body gives you the feeling is really well made. I hear often comments criticizing micro four thirds but this one handles the ISO really well on low light. Image stabilization is amazing at the point that I haven't feel the need of a tripod or gimbals, and some extra f... Show More

Super camera

Dec 20, 2019

I have the Panasonic Lumix G9 for a few months now, and I'm amazed at all the things it can do and how well it's built... like a tank. It's shutter is rated at 200,000 cycles and it's weather sealed (real weather sealed, not Sony weather sealed). Image quality on this 20.3MP camera is excellent. It's a lot of camera for the money-at just under $1000. The list of features is very long. Just to name a few: two separate UHS-II memory card slots, and... Show More

Amazing M4/3 Body

Dec 19, 2019

I've been a Nikon DSLR APS-C user for many years. This Pany G9 is excellent: feels great in the hand (nice grip), the image quality is really good (depending on the lens you use) and the colors are great too. For now, I'm having fun with the Pany 14 mm f2.5 and the Pany 20 mm f1.7. Feel confident to buy this camera, if it is your first mirrorless or M4/3.

It just feels eager to shoot

Dec 19, 2019

I simply love this camera. I moved up from the G85, and before that, I had tried a few APS-C cameras from Sony and Nikon. The G9 strikes a great balance for me. It's on the bigger side of the M43 world, but it feels very solid and fits my larger hands perfectly. The controls are right where I want them, and the 3 dial setup makes full-manual mode a breeze. There are many buttons and levers, making for a very customizable body to suit varying need... Show More

Brilliant combination

Dec 15, 2019

The Panasonic G9 is as worthy of purchase today as it was upon introduction. A solid, slightly larger M4/3 camera outfitted with the Pan/Leica 12-60mm zoom gives me a one camera, one lens combination that I can happily use anywhere. The size and shape of the G9 fits me much more comfortably than other, smaller M4/3 cameras I've used. Panasonic's dual I.S. system out-performs the others as well. And yes, the M4/3 format is viable today and into the future. If the images this kit provides are in any way deficient the problem definitely is not with the camera. Or the lens.

Panasonic's Gift to Photographers

I have a GH4 and was contemplating an upgrade to the GH5. But then I realized I prefer shooting photos to video and was ready to move to Olympus. But I have some nice Lumix lenses and the battery is identical to the GH4. That, plus the nice price sealed the deal. The photos are far and away better then the GH4, and I think the video is too. Better slo-motoo for fun action scenes. And a drop dead gorgeous electronic viewfinder! I hardly use the ni... Show More

The Best M43 Camera I've Owned

Nov 27, 2019

I've used the GX8, GX85, G85 and now the G9 and it's the best one yet! So good in fact, that I just picked up a second body for shooting events. Some folks seem to complain about noise at higher ISO values, but processing photos in DXO Photolab with prime denoise is like magic for higher iso shots. When you pair this body with some of the higher-end lenses from Panasonic and Olympus, the photos are absolutely stellar.

You can look all over the net to find out about all the great features of this cam. One which struck me most and pained me to lose after returning the cam?: Stabilization. The stabilization is phenomenal in how it allows you to take mind blowing long exposure shots handheld. Problem is, the low light video capabilities. It did extraordinarily bad indoors at 1600 iso. Nice Camera

Apr 10, 2019

The Panasonic G9 has some really nice features but I am disappointed that there are times when auto focus just wont lock on the subject. I experienced the same issue on the GX-8. Seems to occur during very bright light conditions with light-color backgrounds (reed grasses...). For me it occurs once every several thousand photos. This camera is still a great value. It has exceptional features and there is a large selection of quality glass available.
