Making an imposible task pleasant
Dear sirs;Recently a family member passed away and I have shouldered the task of sorting out and cleaning out the house.During this project I came across seven boxes - 13x13x18 - that were filled from end-to-end with small, yellow, Kodak boxes of 35 mm slides, each box containing about 60 colored slide negatives. there were literally thousands of slides that needed to be examined for purposes of identification of individuals, weddings, vacation t... What you pay for.
The diffuser looks like it can be pulled off for cleaning, but I tried that and a corner broke off with the slightest of effort. Just blow air into the slot if any debris gets in.At under $4 one can't expect better, but if the company offered the same item but with more robust construction, I would gladly pay extra for it.Otherwise, it is very convenient for quick viewing and the image is great. You don't even have to worry about the orientation of the slide when inserting. If it's upside-down, just rotate the whole unit to view. With better construction, this is 5-star material.

Cheap, simple, effective technology
This is the simplest kind of slide viewer: no power or anything, all you do is put in a slide and point it at a source of light (sun, candle, lightbulb, moon) and your little lapidary image comes before you. Such viewers used to be generally used by home slide photographers but now hardly anyone carries them; B&H fortunately does, and though it's a very cheaply made little plastic thing it does its simple job perfectly.

Preview slides in detail
I have a small production company on South Beach, and now that it's increasingly difficult to have slide film processed, I make most of my client's slides (logos, theme-related artwork) via inkjet and acetate. But I find that two layers - overlayed and aligned - are necessary to provide rich color. Ergo the need to confirm alignment and the usefulness of this Pana Vue Slide Viewer #3.

small image, low light
I purchased this viewer in order to review about 1000 old slides prior to having them put on a DVD. The image is small, and as it has no battery, it must be held up to the light each time you look at a slide. This is a nuisance. It is also not large enough for two people to view at once. I wound up buying a more expensive, battery operated viewer by the same company.

Inexpensive
Yes, it was inexpensive but I thought I would go blind in the one eye trying to view slides. Save your eyes if you are going to look at a number of slides and just spend a little extra and get the back lighted viewer. I did but keep this viewer for a one quick slide check. On a different note the service from B&H was great.

Good!
I mean I didn't really expect much of this little thing, it works just as well a I thought. Not much to it. But it does come super-packaged so I guess it doesn't break, although it's pretty small and plastic anyways. That would be fun if it came in more colors though, but black works fine for just one.

Good little product
Back in the 60's they used to give these out for free at camera stores if you did business with them. Could not find mine after all these years so had to order one online. B&H had one for a low price, came pretty fast in the mail. Good little product. Use it for fast little looky-loos at my slides.

Quick and Easy Slide Show With Panavue 3
I digitized 2200 slides from deep past-1950 and on to the 90's, storing them on a 2Gb Flash Drive. Separated out the slides of friends and family and sent them off to each with a Panavue 3 enclosed. Am getting back big Thank You emails and it was easy and low cost. I'm the family hero.

Not Everything Has to be Complicated
Does this sound familiar? Boxes full of slides and you're holding them up, squinting at each one with the ceiling light as a light source. Well, the ceiling light will still be your light source, but this simple viewer will make your life much easier and save your vision.

Inexpensive, simple, good find.
Just wanted an inexpensive slide viewer to look at boxes of slides taken 25-30 years to make selections for a few prints. This product for the price was perfect. The closest item I could find was $25+. Easy to order from B&H and shipped promptly.

Cheap viewer
Only a quick and dirty way to view slides. Unit is very small. Lens is not adjustable and about 80% percent of the image can be seen without changing eye position. What can really be expected for this price.

Great value
This little gizmo lets you view slides without a projector. I used it to sort slides to choose ones for a family photo book as well as to decide which ones were worthy of conversion to digital media.

Slide viewer #3
It isn't quite what I expected but I will be able to use it for what I wanted it for. It will take longer to view these 35mm film sticks. The price was right for the product yhay I got. Thanks

Simple slide viewer for sorting slides
Great for sorting through slides. Simple to use - no batteries required. Inexpensive. It's less robust than a similar one I used 20-30 years ago - I think it would fall apart if I dropped it.

Worth the buy!
I just needed a little viewer to take a quick glance at my slides, and this was perfect! It gave me a great view of the slide, and it is very convenient to travel around with. Worth the buy!

Tiny, but it works!
I recommend putting a rubber band around it to hold it more securely. It works fine for selecting slides, you'll probably use it a couple times, so the price is right! The quality is good.

Nothing
Just perfect - No Springs, No Batteries, in fact NOTHING to go wrong. OK, on the downside it will not work in the dark, but other than that it is a perfect "quick viewer". Thank You.

Just Fine for Slide Searching
The gap is adequate for slide placement and removal. Materials are strong enough for the time one would use it. Select your best eye glass position for getting your work done.
