If you are passionate about music, then use headphones that are just as wonderful as the music coming through them.

I've had these headphones for 3 months now. As I was coming from a low-end setup, the dt770/80 blew me away. Their extra clarity is amazing; the soundstage--something cheap headphones completely lack--add an extra dimension to music; and their elevated bass response makes these cans premier for gaming. Its last attribute, however, makes it strictly for bassheads if one has critical ears, as bassheavy music will sound, well, a bit TOO bassheavy. Overall, however, the dt770 Pro-80 is an excellent can and well worth the money I paid for it. The highlight of these headphones are their fabric lining around the phone pads. The comfortable fabric is a refreshing alternative to the usual vinyl headphone lining which can get sticky and isn't breathable. Also these headphones are pretty easy to adjust to fit, and stay very secure. From a sound perspective, the frequency response is very accurate. There doesn't seem to be any hyped reproduction of the lows, mids, or highs. The only thing that one could be concerned about is that these headphones are not as loud as some others on the market. So, in a live situation, such as DJ'ing, the DT 770's may not have the output necessary to hear over a live PA system. ... More

I bought these headphones in 2008 from Guitar Center and they still work marvelously. 2008 people. Minus normal wear and tear these headphones still look brand spanking new. Best investment you can make in headphones. 2008 people. That's 6 years of having the same headphone (about to be 7). Considering buying Beats by Dre? No thank you. DT 770 Pro are the best headphones ever hands-down. They give you a real clean sound where you can identify each individual instrument and vocal. Really good to use for studio heads who want to mix their vocals to just the right level without being bounced out by overpowering bass. Make no mistake about it these headphones have an excellent kick/thump to them but it won't drown you out of the overall musical experience. The cushioning feels great around the ears and is wearable for hours at a time (easily a full day). They grip your head perfectly without being overpowering and are made out of great material. My headphones from 2008 have not changed much from the 2014 sold design. I have tried on the new version and alternated and they remain with the companies signature clean sound. You can experience a great time with these. The cord is long enough so you can stand up and do vocals with the headphones plugged in. These are not gym headphones. Take good care of them - not that they are delicate - they are actually quite sturdy and reliable but I would never disrespect these headphones by filling them up with sweat. Alright that is my review - hope it helped. ... More

I've had these headphones for just a little over a year now and the small jack has started to short out. I've taken great care not to crimp the end. I was not impressed with this aspect of these headphones to begin with. I am very surprised that a company that makes higher end products such as these, doesn't make them a bit more rugged. I did get the 2-year warranty with these and would recommend it to anyone considering these headphones. You can't go to a Guitar Center store and trade them out. You ship them off and they send you a gift card for price+tax. Then you get to go back to the store and purchase them all over again. Seems like you should be able to just take them to the store and swap them out and let Guitar Center take care of the rest. Oh well, at least I'll be able to replace them. As far as the sound quality of these headphones, I am more than pleased. These are the best set of studio headphones I've owned and I am going to replace them. They're very comfortable to wear for extended periods. They really isolate the sound very well. Great for drummers. I have no doubt as to what my recordings will sound like with these headphones. What you sound like is what you'll hear on the playback. I would recommend these with the warranty. Cause ya nevah know!!!!! ... More

This reciew is actual for the 250 Ohm version of the DT 770 Pro's. These were my first set of Pro quality headphones, prior to buying these I was tracking/mixing with a couple different pairs of cheap AKG and Samson's. The minute I listened to one of my completed mixes it was like night and day. Suddenly I could actually "hear" all the transients and frequencies. I actually couldn't believe how much I was missing. Since aquiring these I have been remixing and mastering all my projects. I never thought a set of headphones would reveal as much as these did. I wish I had purchased these, or simular quality cans years ago. These (250 Ohm. version) are worth EVERY PENNY. They are very comfortable, have more padding then others in the same quality range. I don't say price range because these are much cheaper than comparible cans. They are self-adjusting, but fit perfectly and snug enough to block out external noise. The 250 Ohm version requires a decent headphone amp, through my setup volume is not an issue, but your milage may vary. I would bet the 80 Ohm version has the same excellent sound clarity and would be well suited for those with lower powered amplification within their source. I can't recommend these enough. If you are in the market for a great set of tracking or mixing headphones, you can't go wrong here. I plan on picking up a second one, most likely the 80 Ohm this time..they are 100 times better than their price point makes them put to be. These are definitely a Professional Studio product in my humble opinion. ... More

You know how most of us do it when we listen to our favorite tunes in the car...usually we kick up the highs and the bass, having the eq "smiling" back at us. Well, this is what these headphones sound like. No doubt, they sound great. But I personally don't want my mixes to sound great because of a nice set of headphones that have been hyped for me. I want my headphones to reflect what I've got going at ALL frequencies. This set is very much hyped at the low end...way too much. I, personally, like my set to be flat as a board. Of course, you probably aren't mixing to a set a headphones. But when you wanna check your mixes and the details, it's nice to have another accurate frame of reference that will translate the flaws and virtues of your mixes. I actually prefer the audio technica ATH M45's. Flat as a board. Takes a minute to get used to if you use to the "hyped" sound...but your mixes (especially your low end) will translate a lot better. 5 stars in overall sound...3 stars in accuracy. ... More

They reproduce everything so things in your mix might not actually show up on regular speakers. They are excellent for tracking because they are comfortable enough to wear all day without fatigue, and they isolate noise better than about any I've used, so no leakage. They also attenuate drums very well so that you can play with a track or metronome. I would have to say that I didn't realize I would like headphones as much as I like these.
