I love these so much. I've been looking for headphones that can give me the bass I want from dubstep music without killing my ears and these are perfect for what I was looking for. They give a lot of bass without sounding distorted. They are very comfortable and keep my ears warm in the winter when I'm walking around campus. They block out a lot of noise but not to the point that you won't hear anything, which I love.

I have four pairs of these in my home studio which I use for tracking, monitoring and some mixing. They seem to be the truest of all the headphones I've used over the years in this price range. Comfortable to wear, great stereo imaging, big sound stage, nothing hyped or scooped out. I can use these for hours at a time without ear fatigue. I've tried the 250 ohm version but they seemed to be a little hyped in the upper frequencies. There's a reason these have been studio staples for decades.

I just bought a pair of these headphones and they're great for monitoring your mixes in critical listening environments. The clarity is unbelievable and so is the frequency response. With a response of 5 - 35,000Hz you can hear everything you missed in your mixes. The bass response is amazing, maybe too amazing, so you best have other reference monitors around when mixing the low frequencies just to double check. Overall, AMAZING headphones and I definitely recommend them to anyone interested in a HQ pair of professional headphones.

I received instead a pair Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 250 ohm, which does not work with the mixer that I would have used them with. I plugged them in and tried anyways.. The sound it made was very quiet, which would be expected from headphones with too high an ohmage. Other than that, there seemed to be a slight buzz, which resulted in a very low sound quality. But this wasn't the product I ordered, I'm waiting for the 80 ohms. They fit very comfortably over the ears, and would seem to provide a live audio sound if it weren't for the buzzing and quietness. ... More

It's hard for me to listen to mixes on anything else at this point. I wouldn't call these headphones flat, but having used them for so long, I know how they translate. The ear cups are comfy, too. If you're looking for no-bleed headphones for tracking, these aren't them. But if you are looking for a solid set of over-ear headphones to listen to tunes or mixes, highly recommended.

Sonically these headphones are amazing. They have great clarity and are perfect to hear everything in a playback, doing a headphone mix and for recording artists singing/playing to tracks in a recording studio. On the other end, the cable is not detachable, so if you break it you cant replace it, you have to buy new headphones. They are very comfortable but not the best fit. The pads are slightly smaller and can cause outer ear pain after a while. Also the cups swivel very little so they can't always conform perfectly and can break easier. Durability: my friend and I both purchased a set at the same time about 2 months ago. One of his drivers when out 2 weeks ago... one of mine went out today. I'm going to go buy a pair of Ultrasone instead ... More

I bought the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro-80 Closed Studio Headphones along with my Lexicon Omega desktop studio interface, and my Groove Tubes GT-55 Vocal Condensor Mic. I can honestly say they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. They make those long days of mixing and monitoring not nearly as stressful. The phones deliver an almost True sound and thus far i've been unable to match their quality anywhere. Totally worth the cash.

These headphones are very comfortable (I can wear them for hours at a time). These are closed dynamic headphones with very good isolation. I found that these are great for drummers or monitoring a PA system. The headset is built to last and they are built to fit the head very well. These things are amazingly comfortable. I would recommend these if you plan on having to wear headphones for a long period of time!

These headphones came highly recommended to me, so I tried them out expecting to hear something far better than the $40 closed phones I got from Radioshack two years ago. The cleans sounded a little bit clearer, but the distortion was wrong. Any fuzz pedal, even the amp's distortion just came off wrong, like it broke up all differently than it did through the amp speaker (Blackstar HT-5). It was horribly disappointing. The radioshack headphones didn't nail the sound right, it's a little muddy through those, but at least you hear the right kind of distortion through those. Sure, they don't have the same punch as the amp either, but they don't just destroy the sound the way these Beyerdynamic things did. If you're gonna jam with these, try 'em out first on your amp (or be ready to return under 30/30, I know I will). They just take the tone right out of your sound. It comes out clear, but lacking all the punch it should have. The first time I put the 80 ohm dt-770 pro on, I hated them. Found them quiet and that they distorted too easily at high volumes. I kept them and used them to mix all the previous tunes that I mixed on a pair of more expensive V-moda headphones on, and all I have to say is WOW. Best mixing headphones I’ve used. No wonder my bass was always lost in my mixes on the v-moda cans. These are unforgiving yet clear, which makes them phenomenal mixing cans.

I needed a pair of comfortable, closed-back headphones that sound great and don't bleed into vocal and acoustic guitar mic's (I use a U 87 which is very sensitive). The DT 770 Pro's fill the bill. V-shaped signature was a bit strong for me, so I use a corrective EQ that I found online. The high and low end detail of these headphones is amazing, and the soundstage is very wide and open. Bought a second pair for work because they have a bit of noise cancellation due to the over ear design

The Sony HD7906 were too bass and sparkly high heavy, as well as the AKG 240s, the Beyerdynamics were the flattest headphones out there in their price point. The Sennheiser HD280s didn't have enough low end and lacked a little detail. These phones are the next stepping point before I go all out on some Ultrasones or Quincy Jones Signatures.
