Decent tripod for general use.

Nov 17, 2017

While on travel, I needed a tripod so I purchased this model. It is a well made tripod and works okay for general use. Unfolding the legs, the spring-loaded clips securely hold them in place well, however they take a little getting used to in order to adjust the angle. Twist-type leg locks are not as easy to use compared to lever-type locks, and with 4 twist locks per leg, it takes just a bit longer to extend all legs. For twist locks, they are ... Show More

Unbeatable value

Dec 15, 2016

At $150 the Manfrotto Element is the best value you'll find in travel tripods. If light weight is your priority, than I doubt you'll find a better option under $500 from a reputable tripod manufacturer. It is very comparable to the Mefoto Globetrotter in terms of functionality. It is nearly identical in specs, with the exception of the Element being much lighter. Pros: - Very lightweight. It's over 1lb lighter than the aluminum Mefoto Globetrotte... Show More

Good Tripod

Apr 3, 2019

Had this tripod for a couple of weeks and used it several time. Overall the tripod is very good quality. Its pretty easy to use as well - even the leg extensions. Ive owner several with legs like that and so Im used to them. Just a couple more than my older versions - thus why I bought it, as Im 6 ft tall and HATE short tripods. The ballhead takes a little getting used to, but it grows on you the more you use it. Id suggest anyone using this tr... Show More

Great for beginners but a few complaints

Apr 3, 2017

This was my first tripod, so I don't have much to compare it other than what family members have. Pros: Lightweight, easy to set up and adjust. It was surprisingly sturdy for the skinny legs in the windy environment of a photo class it was purchased for. It worked as was needed for the landscape scenes we were taking photos in. Cons: A few complaints about it. 1) During a photo class in the desert, I did lose a foot on the last day. Probably my f... Show More

Great Travel Tripod! Still a little heavy

Mar 22, 2017

Overall, I've had a great experience with this tripod so far. It's easy to pull out of my bag and quickly assemble. Likewise, disassembly is a breeze. Converting to a monopod takes no more than 45 seconds. I wish it was maybe a pound lighter, but you get what you pay for - I'm pleased with my decision. Pros: - Legs have enough tension to stay collapsed if carrying by holding just one leg - Sturdy with Canon 6D and 16-35mm lens (3.1 lbs) at full e... Show More

Pretty stable, but the ball head isnt good

Jun 30, 2017

The tripod is quite stable for its size, when you hold a backpack its really stable (anyway i prefer to not extend the last section and the center colum is always colapsed, except for storage). The ballhead is just awful, the arca swiss mout isnt so compatible (for example doesnt work well with a peak design mount) so i finished adding another arca swiss holder, i think i will finish replacing the ball head.... The bag is a bit padded and bigger ... Show More

Great Tripod for the right use!

Apr 9, 2018

I wouldn't get rid of my full size tripod, but for those special occasions when you need to travel light this one will do just fine. It folds down to a very compact size and offers enough support for most needs. I would prefer that the attachment bolt for the quick release plate be flush to allow for slide-on mounting. This could also limit use of some camera or lens plates that do not have a big enough cavity to accommodate the bolt head. But wh... Show More

Some nice features at a low price in an attractive kit

Feb 10, 2018

I had been waiting several years to justify/afford the tripod and head in my wishlist. While in an electronics store a few weeks ago, I saw this model on display. Since it was the only one they had, and they would not sell the display model, I came to B&H. (And saved $16). Some of many pluses: Nicely integrates a panorama head below with a ball head above. 5 section leg extensions all work smoothly with quick firm easy twists. Ba... Show More

Beginning Photographer/Versatile Tripod

Feb 19, 2018

This tripod is a little heavier than I expected, but it feels solid. The ball head is very simple to use and it packs easily with my camera gear for hiking. Very happy with this tripod. Finding a quality tripod at this price is also pretty amazing. I understand that there are others who are using much larger lenses or using their tripods for much different gear, but for a Canon 80D and the lenses I'm using, this has been working very well. Happy with purchase!

May 7, 2017

I am new to photography and started shooting with a flimsy aluminum tripod which I got free with the purchase of a video camera. You get what you pay for. The new aluminum tripod purchased from B & H is sturdy. Have not used added weight to stabilize but am glad I can in the event I need to add weight. Love that legs screw open and close. Really loving quick release plate and rotating ball head. Have not used as monopod but happy for the option. Bonus, it came with tools to tighten and a carry bag. Good deal for the money. Quick delivery.

Fantastic!!

Feb 7, 2019

Great quality materials, very light and if u want to save space (in case you need a tripod AND a monopod) this is the item! It has a hook for weight to get stability in case you have a photolense, you can rotate the camera smothly due to the center ball, plus you can tilt the camera up and down due to a U shape opening on the base, its easy to mount too, I had used other tripods, therefore this is the first tri/monopod that Ive ever bought and Im taking it everywhere with my Mark D lV. It really worths the money.

Quality Control Issues and Poor Customer Service

Jul 12, 2019

Having had this tripod for about a year the glue that holds the rubber on the tighteners is letting go making it a challenge to tightening and lock sections of the tripod and ballhead down. I contacted customer service and after doing what they asked crickets, nada, nothing from them. Called them and no response. Honestly the lack of customer support response has soured me for any of vitec imaging solutions brands. It is a good tripod if it holds together for you.

Same as Mefoto Roadtrip but cheaper and from Manfrotto.

Apr 30, 2018

This is almost an exact copy of the Mefoto Roadtrip. - Same folding style - Same function to use a single leg as a monopod. - Same approx. max height. But, it's 20 dollar cheaper (atleast the black one). and it's by a reputable company. I have only used this tripod on one car ride trip to take a portrait. It worked fine. I felt it was slightly heavy. (I wouldn't want to hike with this). But it comes with a nice padded case and is very stable. Worth the money!

As well monopod option adds a lot of mobility on trips. Definitely a step forward for enthusiast like me.

Good for its price

Apr 12, 2019

This tripod seems to be decently built. The last section of the legs are a bit thin so it does flex with pressure, the reverse closure of the tripod to reduce size also makes it too difficult to open. The tripod does come with a ball head, but not a very good one. Still, it seems decent for the cost of the total package.

Perfect Travel Tripod

Absolutely fantastic tripod for travelling, the leg which doubles as a tripod is a nice feature. As well the ball head detaches so you can replace it with any of your preferred tripod heads. The tripod is also very sturdy and well made. AN excellent choice if you want a cmpact travel tripod without the compromises

Great Tripod!

Feb 11, 2019

I looked at a number of tripods, and this one is hard to beat for the money. Even though this is a less expensive Manfrotto model made in China, it is very well made and works great. Ive used it numerous times with my Nikon D7100 with an 18-140 lens, and it is extremely stable (tack sharp photos).

Camera Tripod Adapted to Small Telescope

Use with a 102 mm Maksutov astronomical and spotting telescope. Tripod is adaptable from camera but light for a telescope, a trade off for small size and portability. Has central column hook for hanging a sandbag or other weight, which helps for astronomical use.

Excellent Tripod

Dec 4, 2018

Got it on sale, where it was an absolute steal. Took me a bit to understand how to tighten down the head, which made me think it was broken (way too loosely attached to the stand when it arrived). But since I worked out that issue, it has been a great stand.

Great Tripod / Monopod at a Great Price

Great product ! I love how it folds so compact but yet extends to over 6 feet if needed! The monopod feature is great. Just unscrew the one leg, mount the head onto it and you now have a great monopod. I would recommend this product to anyone.
