Manfrotto 391RC2 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head Kit with 200PL-14 and 200PL Quick Release Plates

Great tripod!
Rock solid. I have a similar aluminum Manfrotto that's a bit heavier, but isn't as tall. I'm 6'2 with back troubles. Nothing worse than bending forward and down just to see through my viewfinder. Even in rough terrain and close to full extension its a pretty solid rest. Love the fact that I can be inches from the ground too. Brings a lot more flexibility to my landscape and macro work. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a well made tripod without breaking the bank.

Manfrotto Rebate - Follow Up Review
Finally received rebate from Manfrotto on 3/14/20; Increased purchase rating from 1 to 3; Only took 2-months to receive; Manfrotto Rebate Center apparently is not that efficient

High Quality
I needed a new tripod so I bought these tripod legs and the tripod head. It works great. I've been very pleased with it.

Great Tripod
Very good build. Solid and sturdy. Made for functionality and longevity. Really glad I got this tripod.

Great Value.
I came from using a twice as big as three times as heavy Calumet three way head intended for medium format use. I was quite worried that this head would not offer the same stability or precision as that monster. I have been pleasantly surprised, as this unit is just as stable and so much smaller than my old behemoth. I'm using a gripped Sony A7RIII and large GM lenses without issue.

Professional to the touch
Well worth the money. I've always bought cheap $20-50 tripods and they always felt so filmsy to use. The ballhead is amazing and albeit being a little heavy it adds to the stability.

Very strong and Versatile
I was looking for a tripod that I could use outdoors with my 150-600 lens and would double as a copy stand. This is a sturdy tripod! And the center column tilts to horizontal in seconds for shooting straight down as a copy stand. Requires you hang a sand bag or equivalent (camera bag) to keep from tipping over. Great head with multiple levels. Well made, but, of course, a little heavy.

Very Happy
I'm very please with this purchase and as soon as I started using the tripod and ball head mount my photo shooting has improved. As a newbie I was concerned about the quality and I did a lot of research and comparing other products and decided on this for numerous reasons. I'm happy with this purchase and look forward to using it more and more.

Just ... near ... perfect
I bought this tripod two months ago, and could not praise it more. I do mostly food photography, so the ability to have the 90 degree tilt is life-changing. The tripod has worked rather well with up to a 17-55 lens with no additional weights for balance. LOVE the tripod. Strongly recommend Manfrotto!

Smooth
I was a little concerned about it having enough tension to hold my camera setup without slipping. I use a Nikon D850 with vertical grip and a Tamron 150-600 (about 8 lbs) for birds/wildlife and my old ball head could not hold it without slipping. This one doesn't move until I want. The plate is a little difficult to unlatch at times, but I would rather it be hard to get off than dropping my camera!

Good for slow photography
I commonly do not use a tripod for my photography, so take that as a grain of salt. I have a reasonably good Oben ball head, but found that when I needed the camera very carefully and accurately aimed (e.g. architecture), it was too easy to get it wrong. The Manfrotto 3-way is much better in this respect, though you need time to get it set right. I appreciate having BOTH. I gave it 4 stars because an Arca-Swiss quick release plate would have been better--then I wouldn't have had to switch both heads and plates.

Rock solid photography platform
I bought this particular unit based on blog recommendations and reviews on B&H. I needed a sturdy tripod for a photography class and this leg and ball head combination is exactly what I needed. The dual levels are great when shooting on uneven ground, which happens most of the time outdoors. The XPRO ball head is infinitely adjustable and the controls are easy to understand. With a 17.6-pound capacity it can handle my heaviest camera and lens wit... Show More

Perfection in a Pan and Tilt Head
This is a great head. A few of the tings I like so much are: 1. It is easy to level 360. 2. The grips on the levers retract or extend. 3. The release lever works great. 4. This head is very sturdy. I like this head better than the Ball heads as a personal preference. I like the smoothness of the operation and the security I feel when I lock it down. Excellent Head from Manfrotto!

Excellent Tripod
This is an addition to my tripods already in use. My older model Manfrotto Tripod does not have the new features, so my options have increased. I bought this model because it is very strong. I am able to now shoot straight down and get very close to my subjects. I strap it to my backpack and that lets me take it anywhere I want to go. Great tripod.

Great tripod for location work
This tripod is lightweight, small and sufficiently sturdy for my location work with a DSLR. I regularly use a heavy 70-200 mm lens and it is well supported.

Rock Solid
I bought this tripod for macro work, and I have to say it's darn near perfect. The only issue I have is the weight, but I knew that going in. The adjustments are precise and solid, did I say it was solid!!! Like a rock. It ranks up there with my 1K Gitzo as far as solidity. But for the weight it would have been five stars.

Awesome Tripod!
Just got this Manfrotto tripod and could not be happier with my purchase. Price was reasonable. Very solid but lightweight. Love how the middle pole extends out horizontally, great for different angles and macro photography. Now to get a better quality ball head, probably a manfrotto head as I like the quality they are putting into their merchandise!

Quick release orientation is 90 from my monopod head.
I have purchased five different Manfrotto heads over the fifteen years. I've been happy with all of them. This one could be great but the QR plate is 90 degrees offset from the Manfrotto tilt head on monopod. I want the release lever on my left side. I thought I could configure it to match my needs based on the pictures of all the extra holes. What you can do is mount the QR adapter for lever on left, lever on right, or in the handle end. You... A lot to like, but
I like this head and use it with a Hasselblad 500 C/M and a 4x5 view camera which are a bit unhandy to use with the Manfrotto ball heads that I have. It is an inexpensive head for the quality and functionality it provides. But it could be much better if the quick release clamp were removable like on their ball heads so that one could attach an Arca style clamp My workaround is an RRS quick release clamp attached to this head with the Manfrotto 200PL-14 release plate. It works perfectly but I would prefer to leave out the middle-man gadget.

Useless piece of equipment
This tripod had a broken bit within the first month - the metal part that serves as step for each level of spread of the legs. I tried both with B&H and Manfrotto and nobody wants to be responsible for it.

A very good option
I purchased this as a travel attachment for my 3 Legged Thing Alan Monopod. For travel abroad where lighter/smaller is better but you don't want to sacrifice the ability to put your daily use camera and lens combo onboard this is a great option. It holds a good bit of weight and works well with the monopod and both my Fuji cameras. Utilizing the standardized quick release plate is great as I don't have to swap out plates between the 2 ball heads ... Show More

Loosens over time
The idea of this tripod is great. But the locking mechanism is terrible and has deteriorated over time. Now, even at the strongest friction setting, the ballhead slips and can't support my DSLR.

Wow Tripod
Wow the quality of the Manfrotto Tripod. I own an older Bogen Tripod but the Manfrotto MT 190XPRO4 is outstanding for material and craftsmanship. I would say I would buy again, but this one is not going to wear out.
