Good quality

Jul 20, 2015

Another quality bracket by Kirk. It's surprisingly lightweight, given its sturdiness. It fits exactly, and still allows access to the side and bottom doors. This is my second camera for which I've purchased a Kirk bracket, and the quality does not disappoint. While it does add some bulk, it is not unduly uncomfortable to hand-hold with it on. I leave it on all the time, so I know I'll always have a tripod mounting plate. Once it's on, it's on. No... Show More

It's the Go To L

Apr 20, 2017

I have tried other cheaper alternatives which I won't mention names. They usually retail for around fifty or sixty bucks. Instead of making the same mistakes I made, buy the one that costs more but works significantly better. How does a hunk of Aluminum work better you ask? The precision fit. You can fit your LCD cover on the back. The bracket butts up perfectly against the camera without fighting the alignment. Most importantly, all the cable do... Show More

Kirk L Bracket

Oct 12, 2016

Chose this L bracket for my D750 because it has a thingy to attach a strap to on the bottom which is my preferred way of carrying the camera on a strap. It feels solid, and does not add much weight. Two small issues with it (1) you can get at the spot where a cable release attaches just fine but the other cord attachment spots are hard to get at (I had to stick a paperclip in to open the covers), but that is ok since it's pretty rare for me to ne... Great Bracket

Jul 27, 2016

Works as advertised. Very nice fit and locks in tight. Full access to panels on left of camera. I use it with the corded remote and vertical orientation all the time. There was one curve ball, but it was equipped for that as well. I use a Peak Design camera clip on my backpack and the l bracket would not fit in the clip. However the l bracket has a place to mount a regular quick release plate on it, so I installed the QR plate on the l bracket. n... Show More

Dont waste your time on cheaper alternatives for a D750...

Mar 20, 2019

The Nikon D750 has limited choices when it comes to aftermarket L Brackets. Most of them dont fit correctly and require you to offset the bracket to allow access to the battery door, often the cable ports are blocked, and 2 of the brands I tried didnt secure the camera completely (it would slide in the bracket, not good). I went through 3 different L brackets before buying the Kirk. It fits perfectly, allows access to all the ports and compartmen... Show More

Kirk products are quality, well engineered performers.

Jun 17, 2015

I've been using Kirk products since they were first available. L brackets have been on all my camera bodies, I use their ball heads, plates, King Cobra support, window pod, and special lens supports designed to improve lens manufacturers originals. L brackets fit well and stay tight and allow for quick position change from H to V and allow for installation of accessories using arca style mounts. Even used them for off camera flash supports! Do yourself and your equipment a favor and use Kirk products. They are as good or better than the competition.

Definitive quality

Perfect fit, secure mounting to the camera. A manditory enabler for excellence in image capture. How many times have any of us forgone mounting our camera on a tripod because of the extra time and inconvenience involved? This excellent product combines ease of use and great flexibility, solving the age-old problem of inferior stability when shooting vertically with screw-mounted traditional tripod heads.Equally beneficial in both landscape and portrait orientation. Highest quality and precisiom engeneered. Arca-type convenience.

Met My Expectations

Aug 1, 2015

Except for the price, this would gave received 5 stars. Had been photographing the Milky Way in a series of landscape oriented pictures. However I was unable to sow the full arch of the Milky Way shooting with my Nikon 16-35mm f/4 lens until I began taking a series of pictures In portrait format which when stitched together showed the entire Milky Way. This L-bracket was constructed in a way that if needed, allows ample room for cables to connect to the camera

One bracket you need as a tripod shooter

Dec 26, 2014

Unlike quick release plates these L-brackets are really helpful to switch between portraits and landscapes without having the switch the ball head assembly. This Kirk plate is made with really sturdy material and would last lifetime. I love this product and must own for every tripod user. Only problem I have is opening the door I need a key to prop open my finger isn't helpful when I put the bracket close to camera body.

Worth it's Weight in Gold!

Oct 18, 2018

This sure makes life a lot easier! I had avoided taking vertical shots for years on the tripod. The camera always rotated on the plate especially, with heavy lenses. This bracket makes switching from horizontal to vertical flawless. It's also a lot easier to seat either way than the small plate that came with the tripod. It's pricey but I felt the quality construction of the product was worth it!

Functions as designed

Nov 21, 2014

I was in NYC with my recently-purchased Nikon D750 (thank you B&H!) I packed a tripod and hoped to shoot some panos and long-exposure shots. I was concerned that no one had L-brackets available before my trip because the camera was so new. I went to B&H and the super sales staff found this Kirk L-bracket for me! It works exactly as it is designed and I got some great shots of NYC!

Expensive, and You Get What You Pay For

Mar 6, 2017

I begrudgingly plucked down the the excessive amount required to purchase this bracket. That said, it is one of the best investments I have made in a camera accessory. It fits my Nikon D750 like a glove. It does exactly what is supposed to do, dependably. The ease of use inspires my confidence, and the darn thing even feels good on the camera body. I must say, it is well designed.

Tried a universal bracket first.

Sep 29, 2019

I tried a universal bracket first and it worked OK, but it could slip if not tightened down enough so there was a risk I'd over tighten it. I chose this Kirk bracket because it's fitted to both the back and the front of the camera body. In pictures the RRS one looked like it was only fitted to the back.

Solid Protection

Feb 10, 2015

This is a solidly built accessory for my D750. It has already proven its worth in protecting my camera body after I slipped on the ice in northern Minnesota and it protected my camera when it hit on the side of the bracket. The function is as advertised, and the sensor alignment marks are great.

Works and fits perfectly.

Aug 28, 2017

Pop it on when it arrived and it hasn't been off since. Black Rapid strap screws in to the bracket when needed. Looks good build quality is top notch. If I had to complain about this, it would be the use of an Allen head screw to secure it to the camera. They did include the wrench, so no foul.

Perfect fit

Aug 27, 2018

This L bracket is everything I wanted in this type of bracket. It's well made, durable, easy to use, and lets me take those vertical shots I couldn't get using the cutout in my ballh ad. I wish I had one of these when I purchased my 750.

SOlid

Oct 22, 2015

Heavy as you might expect for a solid piece of aluminum. But it is solid and works well. The side can be flush against the body or set away which gives just enough room to get a GPS cable with a 90 degree turn in.

It works as advertised!

Jan 10, 2019

I wish I had known of this bracket earlier. I have been using just a small flat bracket that worked great for steady shooting, the L bracket is what you need when you want to shoot wildlife or sports action shots.

Wish I would have purchased this sooner!

Nov 11, 2019

Love this! All access to ports still possible, great quality build, light, easy to attach, solid&secure. It's soooo much easier than trying to line up a vertical shot using the 'sideways' angle of the ball head.

Overpriced, But You Have Few Alternatives

Aug 8, 2016

Drastically overpriced, but you're stuck. The cheaper alternatives tend to be mostly junk. Business suggestion: This is a niche market. This could be manufactured and sold for a lot less with a decent profit.

Never Take It Off

Jan 12, 2020

Never worked with an L-bracket before. Now I never take it off my Nikon D750. A quality product worth the price. I like it so much, I purchased one for my Nikon D7200. I now find myself using my tripod more.

Secure attachment

Apr 27, 2015

The Kirk L-bracket attaches to the camera and allows for the very secure attachment to the tripod. Changing from horizontal to vertical format is quick and easy... and very secure, which is most important!

Too paraphrase one of my offspring, This is bleap..ing perfect. In my opinion, it is overpriced. That said, it fits and works like a charm. It marries perfectly with my D750. I am glad I purchased this.

Fits Well

Very nice, perfect fit. Only small gripe is that the centering marks should be painted (or laser etched) white so you can see them in less than perfect light. I may go ahead and paint them myself.
