Hakuba H-MS10 Monopod & Tabletop Tripod - Green

Cute. Easily carried -- in pocket even. Useful for lightweight cameras. However poor long-term durability. Ball gets loose. Then thread to tighten gets stripped. Not good for heavy gear. Stability only fair. Also leg-section in/out is physically difficult chore -- especially back in. Method is spring-pins into leg holes. Built-in wings help for not only table-top tripod conversion, but also as verticle support (wall, banister) when monopod. Definitely don't use for more than pocket camera.

practical and light
This little stand has proven to be very practical for stabilizing filming with our camcorder and also to mount our digital camera on. It is perfect for setting on the kitchen table and filming people speaking without being obtrusive. It is lightweight and packs into small places. The one challenging part of this is retracting each section of main leg because the little tiny metal buttons you depress to allow each section to retract into itself are very small and difficult to push in.

...and it's blue!
While this may not be the most robust monopod out there it serves a specific purpose well: it's light, compact and fits in almost any bag. I was originally attracted to it because of it's size and use it for travel and hiking. It's just what I need to help steady the 40-200 lens on my Panasonic G2. ANd it serves as a tabletop tripod if the occasion calls for it. This said it may not be stable enough for a full size SLR 'tho I haven't tried it with one.

Perfect for travel
This monopod is the perfect travel companion. Its compact, sturdy and very easy and quick to set up... simply loosen the lock nut and extend the leg to the desired height. With a snap of a spring-loaded pin device each section stays extended. This monopod, however, may not be suitable for use with heavy DSLR/long zoom lens combinations but travelers should find this perfect for their travel zoom or mirrorless cameras with medium zoom lenses.

Handy weapon in a small camera bag.
Of course, most of us have a tripod and/or mono-pod but carrying them everywhere is such pain. This one is light weight and I could attach my small trip camera bag easily. It's not heavy duty construction (indeed VERY flimsy) but it's better than hand held especially slow shutter speed with long lens. I just use it for casual shot with my sub cameras.

Absolutely worthless. Head is wobbly under all circumstance. Cheap hard molded plastic leg-ends do not sit flat on a flat surface. Monopod, which is too short to be begin with, does not lock sufficiently to apply the slightest downward pressure. In short, a tool intended for stability becomes a balancing act instead. Counterproductive in the extreme.

Very good for P&S camera
I have used this item for several years with a Canon P&S. It helped me get some wonderfull low light shots. When I switched to a DSLR it proved to be not strong enoogh. The weak link in this system is the ball head. It will not tighten enough to prevent camera sag even with a short lens. I gave it to a friend and bought a heavy duty monopod.

Great product
The mono pod 10 is a sturdy device that serves its primary function well in addition to being a mini tripod. The legs of the tripod are removable which is nice. It is a little on the heavy side for my purposes, but this makes it durable so the tradeoff is worth it. It would be nice if the legs of the tripod were more easily removable too.

Nice accessory
I bought this one because it was small enough to carry around with the camera, and it fits in my camera bag. Very useful for steadying video. I also use as a handle to hold the camera above my head in a crowd. It's sturdy enough and reasonably priced. The ball joint doesn't tighten well and can loosen. Not an issue so far.

H-MS10 Monopod
light weight, compact monopod for a small camera or video camera. I am using it with a sony handycam but would not use it for my bigger digital SLR. The legs extend and lock via a ball which is a bit difficult to press in when trying to retract the legs. The best features are the light weight and compact size.

Not for camcorder
I tried this as a tabletop tripod and figured I might use it as a monopod or boom. It is impossible to level when functioning as a tripod and when extended as a monopod it does not lock in position meaning if you aren't holding the top section you risk disaster....

Not for Digital SLR use
Tried to use it first as a TriPod, had no intention to leave it unattended, but camera was top heavy. There was no weight capacity in the advertisment. Tried also as a monopod, not long enough, and manopod tended to collapse

Made a huge difference
This was a gift for a family member suffering with mild Parkinsons. He is extremely grateful for the assist in steadying his hands when he takes the occasional photograph.

Will get done what I need!
Great size, easy to tote around. Good table tri pod and always helpful to have a mono pod. Good for the price, does feel a bit fragile when you make it a mono pod.

light but stout
Small enough to put in a purse or hip belt but sturdy giving you a stable platform for your camera. It is a monopod but can be used as a table tripod.
