Cheap out. Pay the price.
Weve all done it. Youre looking for a new piece of equipment and you convince yourself that you can get by without the best piece of gear. I fell victim to this thinking with a recent purchase of this Feisol Tripod. I was looking for a new portrait tripod and got onto the CT-3472LV-V2 as an option. I also looked at several Gitzo and Really Right Stuff models. The Gitzos and RRS models were more expensive of course, so I convinced myself (like co... Show More

Cheap is expensive and expensive is cheap
I bought the three leg tripod 3372LV, essentially the same as the 3472 except it has three instead of 4 legs. It is light and the specs are wonderful. I bought it with the Feisol 50DC ball head to be used with my large format camera. The sales team, Michael, was easy to deal with, at the NY Photo show, however my wonderful experiences stopped the first week I used the tripod. I wanted a sturdy tripod for large format photography, 4x5. The first t... Show More

Great tripod in every respect but shorter than B&H shows
B&H incorrectly shows this tripod as having a maximum height of 74.8 inches when it actually is 57.87 inches. You can add a center column to gain more height but that is a different matter. The build quality is every bit as good as that of the RRS TVC-34L that I also own. The load rating is accurate as I can put all my weigh on the legs and there is zero leg flexing even with them fully extended. What is great with these Feisol tripods is that ... Show More

Lightweight Still/Cine Solution
I hate lightweight travel tripods for backpacking use and was looking for carbon fiber tripod legs with large diameter tubes suitable for a combination of still and motion work. I found it in the CT-3472. The leg tubes on this tripod are massive compared to others I researched. The twist locks are also huge and should do well when working in cold weather. The foam pads on all three legs make it comfortable to carry the tripod with a camera and lo... Show More

FEISOL CT-3472LV Elite Rapid Carbon Fiber Tripod
I am a headshot and portrait photographer. I shoot primarily in studio and occasionally venture out onto location shoots. This tripod fits the bill. I've used Manfrottos and Bogens for years but this tripod is so much more robust. Definitely worth the cost, so much so I just ordered my second one so that i can leave one in the studio and also have a field tripod. I use the Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 tripod head, making this tripod that much more amaz... Show More

CT-3472LV is a great tripod for me
I watched a number of youtube videos regarding this tripod and was a little concerned at first. I wanted a stable carbon fiber that will be with me for a good while. I also bought the VH-60 horizontal adapter arm kit made by Feisol. I admit, they are bulkier than I thought they would be, but man are they sturdy. One reviewer said his legs would not articulate properly from the center head. I have not had any problems with mine (so far). I love th... Show More

Using for 2 years and LOVE IT
I read reviews about several tripods Two years ago when I was shopping for stable lightweight tripod, after comparing reviews and price I decided to go with this one, also bought the leveling base and spikes Feisol makes. Pros: -Light weight -Short when folded, Packs inside a 22 roller-board -Very stable -Durable -Soft padded covering on the top section, really helps in cold weather -Excellent customer service provided by Feisol (I broke the set ... Best tripod I've ever owned
My previous tripod was a Sirui carbon fiber M-3204X tripod, I had several issues with it (leg sections used comes off while extending), so I decided to upgrade, first looked at the really right stuff tripods and head, but decided not to because of the price. I bought this tripod and Induro BHL-3S from B&H in November 2015. I'm very happy with this set up, I've been using it very often for landscape photography.I also bought the feisol spikes and ... Wow!
My first experience with higher end tripod legs. Set-up was quick, adjustments made on the fly, I couldn't ask for more. My son and I did a photo trip to Southern Utah last week-end working slot canyons in the Grand Staircase area. I'm running a Really Right Stuff BH-55 full size ball head on these legs. Nikon D-700 w/battery base and Nikkor 28-70mm F2.8. Not a light system but very stable and manageable all day on the trails. The ease of leg adj... Show More

Doesn't stand up to weather
I've owned this tripod for 2+ years now. During that time it has failed me on several occasions, and I find it needs constant maintenance. I've had to send it back to Feisol twice due to issues with the angle locks not working on the spider. I have to remember to re-tighten all the leg locks on a particular leg if I make an adjustment, or I run the risk of the leg "sinking". Does not stand up AT ALL to the Utah / Arizona desert. Finally the Right One!
Very stable and weight is no issue! I like the fast set up and closing. I twist both locks on a leg at the same time to unlock and extend the legs and lock them without removing my hand from the leg. To close I unlock the top lock, slide my hand down and unlock the bottom lock, slide my hand down to the bottom of the leg and close both sections at the same time and lock them both at the same time with one hand. Impressed
I started off with an old Velbon Stratos 450 I found at Goodwill, moved on to a Vanguard Alta 263AP. Rather short for a 6' guy and not up to a real 12 Lb camera and lens. My concern was Height, Stability and Price. This fits that in spades. The head plate sets about my chin. I set it up, all legs extended full and hung from it, I weigh 195 lbs, Didn't move!! Planted a Really Right Stuff BH-55 Ball Head on it and, This has got it going on! My Seco... Show More

Be aware of hidden design & quality!
Externally this tripod looks pretty good. Light and sturdy. However, inside the tubes of the legs lies a poor design and potential problems after some use: system of very fragile plastic rings that WILL eventually break and make the tripod unusable unless you order new sets of rings from FEISOL. These are cheap, but the shipping will cost you US$30 every time you need replacements. Be also aware that oner same model, some times has an old and a ... Show More

Great carbon fiber tripod especially at this price point
I have used the tripod for some studio shoots but plan to use it while traveling as well. For how beefy the legs are it's impressive how compact and light the tripod is. It's a very stable platform and I don't have any hesitation with mounting super telephotos on it. While the leveling center column is nice, it'd be even better if it had a bubble level built into it. If you don't need the center column the tripod comes with a center plate that you can use. The bag is large enough to fit the tripod with a RRS BH-55 Ball Head attached. I'm very happy with this product.

Perfect Tripod
Fist it is longer/taller than most. For my portrait work I only need to extend the first two sections, and I am 6" tall. For landscape work the extra length is wonderful. The self leveling part is in two area. First a center column that is easy to operate, and second a 10 degree tilt on the center column, which is easy to grab and adjust. Works perfectly. For portrait work I can adjust on the fly and keep my subject at the right angle. I use mine with an Arca Swiss ballhead with the classic clamp. This really tops off the light weight and flexible Feisol tripod.

Stable and Light
I recently upgraded to this set of legs after my prior tripod (different manufacturer) fell apart. It gave me the opportunity to buy this tripod after eyeing it for some time. After a few weeks of using it, I am happy with it. It is SO much lighter than my other tripod because of the carbon fiber vs aluminum, but a whole lot more stable. The legs on this tripod do not buckle or bend with the weight of a Canon 6D with battery grip and Canon 70-200mm L lens. I am pleased very much with the purchase, even considering the price tag. But you get what you pay for.

Not good
Thought the tripod appears to be well made, it's missing a critical feature, it has a leveling platform but no level to be able to find the correct level. I can't imagine what the designers where thinking when they designed this, the center column has a leveling base but no way to know if it's level or not. This means that you will have to buy the short column post which has a built in level and that would mean loosing the center column to extend height, not good. Very disappointed in a product that was really pushed hard but Mr. Headshot celebrity.

Love this sucker
I had been in the market for a new tripod for a while, I was planning to buy Gitzo legs when a friend turned me onto Feisol. After a bit of review reading and research I finally decided to pull the trigger and boy am I glad I did. This is one of the best tripods I've used. It's durable, adjustable, stable, and all in a lightweight package. The carrying case and extras that it comes with are a nice bonus. This tripod is hands down the best bang for your buck tripod on the market, and may very well on of the best tripods on the market period.

CT-3472LV Tripod - awesome product!
I use my Feisol CT-3472LV in Studio portraits as well for landscapes. The center leveling column is very practical, slides smoothly and tights firmly. I would say it is the best tripod I ever came across, and I would buy it again and again. Important to notice the outstanding customer service: I disasembled the center column to try the the optional leveling base CT-3472 and couldn't put the parts back together (see picture). Feisol took the time to quickly send me a step-by-step guide on how to reassemble it back. I really appreciated!

Most awesome tripod ever!
I am a portrait and headshot photographer. I work in studio and on-location. This tripod is smooth, easy to use and fairly light weight. The leveling head really makes a huge difference on a tripod. Very well high quality product and comes in a great carrying case. I live near the ocean and often shoot at the beach so this carbon fiber tripod was a must. I purchased an Arca Swiss monoball head and now my tripod is complete. I think this is my tripod for life! Thrilled with my purchase! Feisol and B&H rock!

Excellent and love the optional quick leveling head
The tripod is very solid and will take a 600mm f/4 lens in stride. Being able to use the regular base or the self-leveling one in seconds is a terrific feature. The grip is very secure for locking and unlocking the legs. The only aspect to be aware of is that Feisol makes 3 different types of spikes for their tripods but none of them can be used with the CT-3472 tripod and this tripod has the worst leg ends I have encountered, a piece of plastic that is like the cap on a cane.

Completely fell apart after 1 year of light use
This tripod completely fell apart after 1 year. I had to manually reassemble it on-site on actual jobs at least 3 times when it completely fell apart. One leg has been problematic almost from the start, and cannot be fully extended or retracted, causing alignment problems. This tripod has slowed me down on the job, embarrassed me in front of clients, and completely wasted my money in general. Do not buy this product if you want something reliable.

I would buy this product again
This product is great. It is light weight, holds up great to abuse and at a great price. The only negative side about this product is the leg positioning tabs, over time they tend to become harder to press and the leg will not move to its correct adjustment location unless you give it more force. But I found that some grease spray takes care of it.

It also comes with a nice bag, and a mounting plate in case you want to remove the center column.
