This is my first mic as I'm just getting started with video. I looked at a few options in this price range, and this one only had a couple of reviews but the construction seemed more sturdy. That was borne out upon arrival - the barrel is metal and feels robust, and the switch has a positive action. It works for both smartphone and regular cameras/recorders that don't supply power. Sound quality is really good. I picked up a couple of extra batteries though haven't needed to replace one yet, after about 10 hours of use so far. I do want to get a couple of extra foam covers as it's come off once. Only downside is that the long wire gets tangled easily, but that's not unique to this product. ... More

Yes, it's composable with everything you want to use it for. I bought two of these. They are great mics for my video production. Nice tone, blocks noise to the sides like it should. The battery capsule has an on/off switch, but it can be hard to see. I always mark my lav mics with an identifying letter, and a strong mark for the ON position. It's easy to forget to turn the mic off and come up with a drained battery on the next shoot. The battery will last for a good long while, but turn it off when you're finished. Buy the corresponding batteries for this This uses the LR44, not the 303. I found that out by reading other sites. And by the way, even tho it SAYS that the battery compartment is marked on the + side, I haven't been able to find that. NOTE: the + side of the battery goes against the spring. You're welcome. ... I need(ed) to record video sermons for our church due to this coronavirus situation and so I was searching online to find and buy a good budget mic. I've read some reviews about this mic and decided to get it. And let me tell you: it's worth every penny. Actually it's worth much more than what I paid. The audio quality you get from this mic is so much better than what you get from the DSLR mic, and that comes at a very low price. If you don't want to spend a lot of money on a mic and you want a good audio quality, get this mic - you won't regret it! ... More

I can't believe I waited so long to buy a lav for my self-tapes. Quality sound is SO important for professional quality auditions, and this is such a quick and affordable way to level up. ACTORS, don't wait. Delivery was so much faster than Amazon.

Full disclosure, I have a Vidpro XM-L-brand mic that's identical to this in every way, and it's surprisingly good. The sound quality is OK, fairly pedestrian, but the noise floor sits around -60db, which isn't bad at all. As a test mic to keep on your desk, a last-ditch emergency backup, or to use if you're absolutely that strapped for cash, it has its purposes. Just remember that if you buy any mic at this price you aren't paying for and can't expect reliability.

I've only used once but the mic seems well built/constructed. Feels solid. I have it teamed up with a Canon M50 and the audio is great. I didn't make any post production adjustments. Audio was clear and resonant. I like it very much so far. The only bugaboo I have is the foam wind block, dead cat doesn't seem to fit as snugly as it should. It keeps falling off. I may need to secure it some how. It comes with plenty of cord length and for the price is a solid win.

.... unless you're expecting it to sound like a U87, ha ha. Took a minute or two to work the battery into the main body, but other than that, I'm very happy with this. Very long cable can be a little annoying to work around, unless you need the length. Then, you'll be very happy that you have it. For the price, it's really hard to beat.

I have used this dual microphone directly plugged in my X-T4 and the sound is great. It has a tiny preamp powered by an LR44 battery. I don't know how long it last though. Of course, it works even with the preamp turned off (i.e. with the switch in OFF/smartphone position), but you have to turn up the internal preamp of the camera in that case. I can't say for certain if it mic would work as well on a camera with a lower quality pre-amp than the X-T4, but I'm very impressive quality for the low price.

I bought this as a cheap mic for YouTube videos. Turns out with the Zoom H1-N audio recorder it sounds amazing. This lav mic has a really long (and I mean long) cable for a mic. It is very easy to use and has a long battery life. I accidentally left it on for a day because I forgot to turn it off. However, I was still able to use it for quite a while even after I left it on for so long.

Seems to work just fine going directly into my camera. Audio is clear and does not seem to distort. I have not tried it with my iPhone, but I'm sure it would work just fine.

This microphone has so many positives - first and foremost, the long cord which is a bonus, the unobtrusive clip that holds the mic is user friendly and the cost of this piece of equipment cannot be overlooked. Excellent value for the quality of the microphone. Works perfectly for iPhone broadcasts!

I needed a lavalier microphone that would accurately boost my narration clarity but Not break the bank. For around $15 the Boya BY-M1 Lavalier Mike completely filled the bill! No complaints here. This little powerhouse was well worth the price and B & H made the process of obtaining it simplicity itself! Kudos to B & H.

I purchased it to sing with the mobile app. But it occupies the headset jack, so I can't use headphone to listen to music. I solved it with a Y cable, but the microphone battery must be used. I don't like button battery. If it uses AAA battery, or have a headphone jack, that would be even better.

Great microphone that works well with any phone or laptop for recordings/calls. The quality of the audio is stellar compared to the built in microphone on smartphones and laptops. It has a very long cord so the mobility that comes with it is an added bonus.
