MacBook Air Nice, B&H Better

First time Mac user!
First off let me say that this is the newest model (2019) as advertised so I was thrilled. Coming from 15 years of using Windows laptops I found this incredibly easy to learn. Light, quick and easy to use
Needed something to replace the 10 year old MacBook the kids were using for Google Docs and such in school. This machine has a beautiful display, good battery life and all the usual features I expect from OSX. Took me a bit to enable the Apache web server with PHP so they could work on their HTML projects but that's about it. The fingerprint reader turned out to be more than a novelty. It's a good computer for 4 years ago and its too expensive. Good component quality, and outstanding build quality, but too little memory, a middle of the road processor, the screen has less resolution than current ones. Fabulous, once you suffer migration blues
Love the new keyboard (versus my older Air) and, of course, it is blistering fast versus my old one as well, better battery life, .... Migration was an issue though. Great notebook, one glitch
The macbook air is possibly the best notebook computer today. It's just the right size, sleek, powerful, with a friendly OS and UI in general. It's easy to order and customize, unlike pretty much every other laptop/notebook out there, that are really hard to customize (more memory/disk etc.). Another Review For Another Mac
I tried to use an iPad Pro for writing and composition. I really did. Keyboard, pen, even a mouse via assistive features. It just wasnt the same. I missed a real OS. So I bought a Mac (this is, like, my seventh?). For my needs (research, composition, music streaming) its ideal. The new butterfly switch keyboard is an improvement over two years ago. The forcetouch trackpad takes some getting used to. The Touch ID is a nice addition. Watch-unlock is unnerving but nice. All in all a good machine. Now if it could just be modified after purchase...

Lightweight and Easy to Use
This product is great for anyone that is traveling with their computer. Its easy to carry without strain on your back or shoulders. Its ideal for high school and college students having to travel to and fro. It works seamlessly with iPhone, iPad, headphones, AirPods, etc. Its the best deal I could find, and and no one else (including Best Buy) could match the price. I do suggest buying a hard cover and AppleCare to protect what will be one of your most valuable possessions. Overall, you will not regret this purchase, no matter what age you are.

Downgrade from previous Macboo
In classic Apple fashion, there are new charging cables and elimination of all previous caples and ports which just creates a shocklingly overpriced cable compatibility market. Battery life is weaker than my previous model Macbook Air from 2013..only lasts about 8 hpurs on full charge. Charging cable stopped working after a little over 1 month. Computer and cables are brand new..never been jolted or bent or anything. Strangely, it charges with my 3 year old android phone charger which is also USB-c..albeit extremely slowly.

MacBook Pro or Macbook Air
I needed to setup a single power up application laptop to run my 5 person podcast station. I took a chance on the MacBook Air because of cost escallations. The macbook pro would have done the job. My question was would the macbook air survive the load. The Macbook Air Powers up 4 additional monitors and funs the Sling Studio App with no problems. A savings of 1.5K over the macbook Pro. The Macbook Air is a machine that keeps on taking it. Very pleased and now I can buy more techy stuff. Macbook Air got the job done.

Best Service & Pricing
B&H has THE best selection of products and makes the entire purchasing process easy. I wanted a 256GB drive, space grey color, and they had this readily available in stock, discounted more than any other online retailer, and shipped it immediately after I purchased it. The packaging exceeds anything I have received from Apple or other retailers, and given how hard the shipping companies are on packages, this is more and more critical. I have purchased cameras, lenses, and laptops from B&H and will go back everytime!

Decent but with flawed design chioces
Compared to previous MacBook Air designs (early 2015) which I have owned this version has significant flaws. The keyboard (I believe it is called a butterfly type) is really awful. The feel is all wrong partly because of the limited travel distance. The move to Thunderbolt only ports now means there is a need to additionally carry around adapters. This version comes with Catalina which I find slower to load that previous MacOS versions. On the positive side it has a good screen and battery life.

Slower on startup than I thought it would be.
I am a bit shocked about how slow the startup is on this computer. The size is great and the power adapter is nice and tiny. Love the fact that there is now Touch Bar (not a fan). Hate the facet that there isn't an option for a quad-core (might be why the startup is so slow). Haven't tried any of my design apps, yet. Probably will be slower, but I refuse to buy the Pros until I see better options for that high cost.

Beautiful color!!
I purchased the gold color and was pleasantly surprised to see that it actually looks almost rose gold in color and is just lovely! I was a little annoyed that this does not have regular sized USB ports so I had to purchase an adaptor cord separately so that I could plug my external HD in and my printer. Very nice computer otherwise. Love the size, the keyboard is great and of course the screen color is beautiful!

For writing it's been nice so far
I'm sure some have their gripes with the keyboard especially for long hours of typing continuously. I personally don't. I mainly just use the laptop for writing, browsing the internet, and streaming video. The display is second to none, Apple always shines in this regard. I wish the battery life could be a bit longer, but it isn't short by any means. It's a good portable computer for a casual user.

Moving from Windows to Apple [creating an orchard]
I purchased an iMac from B&H last year and took off leaving Windows behind. With projects coming up this year, I decided it was time to retire the laptop and move to Apple, with another purchase from B&H and am really happy I made the move. The household has iPhones and an iPad. The speed of the MacBook Air, and the Retina Display are great, and I know I'll get good use out of the purchase!

I am disappointed
Although I have been a B&H customer for about 40 years, I have not a great experience with this order. I had to return two of these MacBook Airs before I got one that finally worked. The good news is that B&Hs customer service was very easy to deal with, the bad news is that I had to wait a month from when I first ordered my computer until I got an operational MacBook Air in my hands.

my best mac yet
so light - so responsive - so capable! i have an old mbp that i upgraded with an ssd and extra ram - it runs an i7, so not at all shabby - but 15 and (what feels like) 30lbs of lugability this new smaller lighter mb-air runs circles around it. i have yet to find a task that is too much or run out of battery .... and i can carry it all day long without dislocating a shoulder.

Good laptop, not perfect
The Rose color is a really nice addition. So far the only complaint I have is that there are only 2 USB-C ports and they are both on the same side. It would be nice to have more ports since 1 of them is taken by the power cable. The other one should be on the other side of the laptop to make it more versatile as only having ports on one side can be restrictive.

MacBook Air - Mclovin it
B&H crushed it!!! This Mac air book is fast (16 gig)and has plenty of (512 SSD) storage. The design and space gray finish are fantastic but that just the beginning. B&H Has it to me in two days and tax free!!! Wait theres more folks!!! B&H spanked Best Buys pricing (150) by far. I even called Best Buy and they wouldnt match the price during Black Friday sales.

Apple products just work
Out of the efficient packaging, to the efficient starup/transition from old Mac. This computer is just a simple way to run many applications. I have bought an adapter/dock so that I can use numerous periphreals (monitor, wired mouse, keyboard, and other USB devices. Its only been a week but so far I am very happy with quality of product and price from B&H.

I got this to replace my 2012 MacBook Air, which still works after all this time, but was slowing down and had limited storage. This is the third Mac laptop I have owned and I love it. Poor internet or bandwidth!
I am so very disappointed with this Mac Air. It stops streaming after 20 minutes or so, supposedly, there is something wrong with the bandwidth. I am no tekkie, so I do not know why a new Apple would not work with streaming on Amazon or Netflix. I wish I can exchange it or return it. I would rather get a regular MacBook.
