It works!
What can I say about a portable hard drive....other than it works. As expected. And I think it's pretty amazing that engineers can cram 1TB of space into a little device that fits in the palm of your hand and runs off the minuscule current of a USB drive. Oh, I gave it a 4 stars review because nothing is perfect.

I took it to a computer company along with my computer to have my pictures transferred. Does not work. He even tried another computer, same. Not happy with it.

Good backup device
I have a couple of backup drive that fail from time to time, so am replacing them. This is big enough and fast enough for a regular Time Machine backup. Keep multiple copies. I've had an internal and external disk (not SSD) fail at the same time - luckily had another current backup. I have had good service from WD devices.

A good size for backups.
I have heard too many stories of people getting locked out of their cloud accounts for various reasons, so I use these for backing up images and data instead. The only issue was the cable that came with it was somewhat deffective in that it would not register on my wife's laptop computer, but did with mine, Swapping the cord solved the issue. I looked at the contacts on the jacks and some were molded slightly out of position. Otherwise, backing up was as simple as Drag and Drop.

quality hard drive
I've had this baby for a few weeks now and I am pretty happy with it. I have another portable 2TB hard drive from WD and this one is so much smaller and lighter; I was really surprised given its capacity and speed. I also like the minimalist exterior. So hopefully it holds up as well as my other drives have over the years... so far so good with this one!

Small and Lite
I bought this external hard drive to use with my 14 inch two in one laptop which I use for travel. It's small and lite enough for easy travel. Easy to use. I would recommend this product.

Reliable External HD except for accidental drop
Very reliable hard drive except when dropping to a hard surface which makes all data inaccessible; thus not very shockproof.

just awesome
I recommend to format it as exFAT (not NTFS) in case you use Win10 and Linux dual boot machine. for much better compatibility and less potential issues

Best for backup!
I'm using many external hard drives for back ups and I have purchased this one for backing up photos. So far, it works perfectly alright without any problem and I love it.

The only HDD I buy
I have about 26 of these. Every project gets 2. All other brands have seen corruption and failure, but never WD. Just make sure to buy it with a hard case and let it stay in the case. Best way to take care of them. And format to EXFAT so it works on both mac and windows without the 4gb limit.

Nice little thingy
I divided this into two partitions, the regular exFAT and encrypted one to use both interchangeably under Win10 and Linux. NTFS has some nusty quirks you know. exFAT is what you need to make it working everywhere.

WD 2TB portable Ext. Drive and Carrying case
These items were purchased as a Christmas gift so I don't yet have a personal review. From past experience with Western Digital hard drives I am confident this drive will be as dependable.

4TB Elements Portable HD
Product seems to work fine. Wasted a lot of time trying to find instructions for setting up to automatically back up my computer hard drive. After making a phone call I found out there is no software to set up a back up, despite what the WD website said. ANY information included, as opposed to none, would have been most appreciated.

Terrific accessory
Having so much capacity in such a small package is great! I travel a lot and this is the perfect device to use for downloading a large volume of images when on the road. Its a breeze to copy, sort, keyword and rank images. Virtually impossible to run out of space.

Western Digital drives are a good value.
I've been using WD drives for years and they are reliable and relativity inexpensive. This drive will be to back up 2 other smaller drives for my photo library safe-keeping.

Good enough
It performs good with Mac. I was a little bite disappointed because the case is in plastic. I prefer the version that is for Mac that is half metal.

Bad connection port
The hard drive only connects when placed at a very particular angle. Not happy, will return.
