Worked fine with some quirks, until one day at the beach...

Overall a good value, pretty solid tripod
I've had this tripod for about 2.5 years. Overall it has served me well as it has served as my main tripod over that time (paired with the LH-2510 leveling base and BC-166 ball head). The biggest camera+lens combination I put on it is a Canon 7D with the 70-200mm f2.8, and it handles this without a sweat. A solid ball head worth the money
The Oben BC-166 ball head is well built and holds my Canon 5D Mk3 steady with my 24-105 lens. My first photo shoot with the new head was long exposure night shots at a carnival. The head kept the camera so steady, I found I didn't really need a cable release or timer to trip the shutter. There is only a very slight change in camera and lens position afte tightening the head. Unreliable legs
Two weeks into ownership on first field trip, when extending legs second section dropped completely from top section of one leg, followed by bits of broken plastic. Inspection revealed Oben uses a white plastic sleeve around top of second section as a retainer and this had broken when contacting the thin black plastic ferrule within adjustment nut, which then also broke.
