Nikon D7500 DSLR Camera with 16-80mm Lens and Software Kit

Love my new D7500
I got the 7500 kit to replace a 5000 kit that just wasn't getting it for hobby shooting birds and wildlife. I love it -- everything it was advertised to be.

One pesty problem
I recently purchased this camera as a replacement for my NiKon D300, which I have had and enjoyed for close to ten years. The one aggravating thing about that camera was the flap on the side that covered the openings for connecting cables wouldn't stay shut. I was happy to see the D7500 did not have a similar design. However, now something more of a problem for me is that the battery cover is easily knocked out and completely detaches from the ca... Show More

Very fine, very capable DX DSLR
After 11 years of shooting a Nikon D80, the D7500 is giving me great satisfaction. Right out of the box, without any personalizing the setup, the images are detailed, high resolution, and color deep. All my old DX glass is seemingly refreshed. The only criticism is that there is no add-on grip. Dont need the extra battery (I dont shoot weddings) butIdolikethegripwhenholdingthecamerainportraitorientation.

I have owned this D7500 and 16-80 Nikon lens twice, It is Gr
I have owned a lot of cameras in the last 50 years. One camera and lens stand out as required. This Nikon D7500 (I own and use the D500, D7200, all the way back to D100) and the 16-80 lens is awesome. Some knock this camera as only one card slot. I have never had a failure with that. on board flash is needed some times. Fast switch from stills to video. rated very high by pros who write the instruction booklets. I regard this combo as about the m... Show More

4.75 Stars So Far
I have a D7200, and waffled for a long time before ordering a D7500. However, waiting saved me more than $500! Ive used the D7500 for a bit more than 2 weeks, and in a variety of lighting. My subject matter is mostly wildlife in motion, and the replacement of the Pv button with a 2nd Cf button facilitates switching between metering modes. IQ is at least equal to that of the D7200. Ive never actually needed a 2nd card slot, or battery/vertical gr... Show More

A great camera!
I would describe myself as an advanced amateur. I decided to step up from the D7000, mainly because of the claimed improved low light capabilities. Regarding low light shooting it is a big improvement over the D7000, though I dont typically push things above ISO 6400. I dont miss the extra card slot and I love the extra focus points. Although almost all of the controls are in the same place as those in the D7000 Im still learning some of the new ... Show More

Never mind the haters, this is a great DX camera
As much as I have loved using the D7200 as my DX body, I am willing to sacrifice the second card slot and the ability to have full metering with AIS lenses for 8 FPS and the metering and fast focusing of the D500 in a less expensive package. It is a great sports camera, particularly when mated to the 70-300 AF-P VR zoom, for a lightweight package for shooting daylight sports. And, as a refurb body, it came with everything except the shiny gold box and was as good as new. If you dont have the cash to get a D500, and if you dont beat on your gear, get this camera. It will do right by you.

Great tool
I am a Nikon guy all my life, always shooting crop sensor cameras, but this one is super good, images are extremely good. The most important thing is the price. Forget about the D7200

Im so happy to upgrade from my d5600. The sale price is amazing on this camera. There is a depth of color in my images that just didnt capture with my d5600.

catch the moment
pros: 1. build quality (feels solid, weather sealed) 2. Autofocus performance (speed, tracking) 3. easy to control 4. 4K time-lapse video 5. supports uncompressed 4k video via an external recorder 6. touch screen 7. 3.5mm microphone & headphone jack cons: 1. autofocus in live view is slooooow and noisy, anyway use manual focus. 2. only UHS-I card support, no UHS-II

One of the best DSLRs, underrated, with great lens
I am no stranger to Nikon DSLRs. I have owned a lot of them. And Nikon film cameras before that. Of all of them I rate the D7500 and 16-80 lens easily one of the best for field camera use. Then switching to the 200-500 5.6, or in between 70-300 Nikon, and I own a LOT of those of various kinds, you have an awesome No nonsense set up. Make no mistake about the single card slot. SDHD cards are extremely dependable. Other Nikons are either more expensive, heavier, or slower to use in fast paced scenarios. This is both a great bargain, and a ultra dependable camera.

Review is for the Refurbished version of this camera Only!
Bought this refurbished camera because i thought i was getting a good deal, but then when i received the actual camera, it had several issues going on. First, the sensor had several hot pixels when recording video. Second, the viewfinder had several dust or dirt specks trapped right below the pentaprism, this did not affect the photos, but it was very unpleasant to see every time i used the viewfinder. And third, if you buy these refurbished came... Show More

Love it
I have only had it for less than a week; however in general it is very clean and I would not be able to tell that it has ever been touched by anyone else. It definitely looks brand-new, zero sign of wear. All buttons feel crisp and clean and uniform. I have taken a few photographs with it and it has delivered very clear crisp pictures. Most of the time I have had it Ive been setting it up and playing with it to best match the set up on my D750. S... Show More

Exactly what I wanted!
I was looking for a wildlife camera for action shots, and this is a perfect camera at a reasonable price. The 18-300mm lens is great because you only need to carry one lens. But do wish I could afford a 300-500 zoom.

Awesome upgrade from the D7100
I read all of the reviews and agonized over whether to buy the D7500. I was going on our first African Safari and really wanted a new camera but should I make the switch to mirrorless? At the end of the day with my investment in Nikon lenses I decided to stay with F mount and upgrade from D7100 and Im very glad I did. I would catorgize myself as pro-sumer and thus the lack of 2nd card slot and battery grip were not an issue for me. The pictures I... Show More

Great Camera
Weird this was so controversial on release, its just a great camera. Its fast, great in low light, has a very nice, clear touch screen. Snapbridge works well on my iPhone, and works well as a remote shutter release too. Controls are intuitive and smooth. Really enjoying shooting with it.

A wonder for Macro.
I decided to replace my Nikon D300 small sensor camera due to problems with the command and sub command dials. Since I do some macro photography I figured the D7500 along with its articulating screen would be a good choice. And it was. Another feature thats nice is the location of the ISO button just in back of the on/off control. It seems to me that with all off the amazing features it has built in, it is on par with my D810 but of course it has the smaller ASPC sensor. If I had to choose just one camera this would be the one.

VR issues with telephoto lenses on the 7500
A few cautionary words: I have just sent back my 7500 as I found, based on my own new camera and another new one in a camera store, that using a 300mm lens with the 7500 and a shutter speed of 1/125 second cannot be hand held and give a sharp picture at 100% crop. The lens VR will not stabilize the picture. One can easily see a slight blurring of the subject when looking at the 100% enlargement. At 1/30, its sharp; at 1/250 and above its sharp, b... Show More
