I bought two of these for my photos as well as one as a clone backup. They are very durable, fast, and do the job that I expected them to. I've been using WD drives for years now and I can see why I trust WD for storage.

Quiet and fast
I needed a new backup drive for TimeMachine. Formatted for Mac quickly and performs well. It is so quiet its hard to tell its there. I bought the Passport as it is small and easy to disconnect to put in fireproof safe.

I would buy this product again and again.
I bought this drive to store all of the photos i edit in one place. I still keep a backup on my NAS, but this is mobile and fast and quiet. So far it has been 100% reliable and a great asset. Would buy again and again.

Not Ready for Prime Time?
Had this fail on me after less than one month of use. WD is replacing it under the warranty, but what a hassle. Not sure the 4TB are ready for prime time just yet. If you try it, make sure this isn't your only backup.

Functional Drive in good form factor and color
The physical size of the drive and the 4TB capacity make this extremely useful for traveling and backing up your photos on a frequent basis. I bought the yellow color just to make it easy to find among my other gear.

unreliable HDD
I was using this HDD moderately, for backing up my files every now and then. it only lived for a few months and then stopped working at all without giving me the chance to backup my data making me lose crucial data.

Certainly would consider 4TB WD My Passport at this time/
I use My Passport to back up another portable hard drive that holds my images. My former device gave off a series of error messages - time to be replaced. The install was simple and the tranfer of data flawless.

WD 4TB HDD
This is a great portable HDD. I use this to as backup my images when traveling. This way I have the originals on the CF and SD cards, and copies on this drive. It is fast, portable and best of all affordable.

I dont Trust it
I had it for less than 3 months and it keeps disconnecting and my laptops do not recognize it. It take multiple tries for it to mount. I have the older mode no issues so skip this one get the older version.

Okay thus far
Was a bit of an issue setting the system with my laptop, but after a lot of clicking and reading the manual that comes with it, the hard drive began to save my images. Quick write speed which surprised me.

WD....Another Great Portable Drive
No kidding...I am a big fan of Western Digital drives and this one is no exception. It's 1 TB, but actually a little smaller in physical size. The drive has been running wonderfully and fast. I do like it.

Small, convenient, and quick
I use as a backup drive attached to my PC via USB 3. Has worked flawlessly out of the box. Backups compare favorably to my other USB 3 drives. The small size will make it very easy to take along on trips.

2TB My Passport External HD
I bought this drive when B&H had a sale to use for video editing. The drive is well made and handles the need to edit my files on an external drive with Final Cut Pro X. I would recommend this drive!

Compact, easy to use
I have several of these devices and while they're a little slower than some external drives I've owned, they've been very reliable. I use then as backups for images, videos, data. Nice little units.

Nice External Drive
Installs fairly easily. I was surprised to find that it runs on USB power so no AC power cord is needed. We will see how it holds up over time, but it functions very well in its first month of use.

Super Compact and Great Performance
This is a very compact drive which looks gorgeous and connects super fast to my workstation. Fast speed and it never gets warm. I have a couple of WD Drives for my work and they all work flawless!

Another happy purchase from B&H photo.
This replaces my smaller backup drive. Such is the way with storage. If we can keep it we do. Or as Seagate said in 1983, It's a 10MB drive, who will ever need more storage than that on a home pc?

No issues
Initially it feels solid and I had no problem reformatting it to support windows and mac. Very good price for the storage space. Yet to be determined it it will stand the test of time. It is fast.

Can't format it on my Mac no matter what.. dissapointed
I wanted to use it as my new backup drive but altho been told by a representative in the stote, I could not format it to work as EXFAT or any other format for that matter on my Macbook pro Retina

Good product for the price
I've always found that Passport external drives were reliable and bulletproof. This one is no exception so far. I have no reason to believe that it won't be. Good, fair price and quick delivery.

I recommend this hard drive and will buy it again.
I using it to back up my working drive. I love it's compactness and I do not have to use external power source for it. I own numerous WD. hard drives and I never had any issues . Great product.
