MeFOTO BackPacker Travel Tripod (Titanium)

Great Build, Light, perfect for Travel
After getting a mirrorless system (Fuji X-e1), I also need a lighter tripod. This happens to be the best companion for me because of it's small size and light weight. The best thing about it is that the ballhead is really sturdy. Just one little disappointment is that the Independent Leg Spread lock doesn't automatically click in.

Very compact
Very good to travels. Never had one tripod before, but I think this one is very useful and can hold most of simple shots. On first impression, it is not very stable, it seems that one tiny collision would drop it off, but after some tests I saw that is firmer that I thought. Great product for the price, if you need a compact size.

Very Nice Product
This is a great little tripod. It comes with a nice carrying case. When packed in its case it is only 13"x4"x4". At 3.2 lb, it might be a bit heavier than you would like for backpacking. This is not an issue for me. I used it to photograph the northern lights in Iceland recently and it worked fine. It was easy to use in the dark.

Nice Little Unit
This tripod packs up small, and is very easy to carry. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and operation. It works exactly like a Gitzo. The ball head is better than expected for sure. It's not a replacement for a full sized tripod, but this one goes everywhere, and it works well. Recommended for your first second tripod.

Too flimsy for me
I purchased this tripod to bring with me when I travel. It was not as light as I expected. Once I set it up, it was adequately stable but any vibration at all on the camera seemed to resonate through the tripod for a few seconds. I used it with a Nikon D7000. I ended up returning it, knowing it would not work for me on a trip.

fell apart after several times use
I havent used it much, maybe 3-4 times last year. However it fell apart last night while trying to take photos for blood moon eclipse. The center lock already became loose after 2nd use. The twist locks does not seems to be very secure, and angle control mechanism was not easy to use either. I do not recommend this product.

Great little tripod
I use this tripod for bopping around with my little point n'shoot. Its tiny, light and its case is super useful for just heading out to get some grabs of a location w/out having to lug all the heavy gear around. I'm generally not a fan of the twist to tighten leg extenders, but so far they have not caused me any problems.

Awesome little tripod
Great for traveling; folds up pretty small. Easy to setup. Used primarily for travel; don't think it could withstand everyday abuse with heavy equipment. Used with 5DII with heavy L lenses and battery grip with no problems. Did seem to flex quite a bit when fully extended. Can't be beat for price/usability when traveling.

Exactly What I Was Looking For
Perfect in every way for travel. I often travel with my EOS M, but sometimes also my 70D. Works great for both (often just have a small prime on my 70D). I also have a large tripod for around home, but this one is great for it's purpose and I contorted for quite awhile researching until deciding on the MeFoto BackPacker.

Nice little brother
Photographers tend to need and collect tripods for various situations. I needed one that was inexpensive since I am using it to mount a wildlife camera. I didnt want some expensive carbon fiber tripod I had to worry about. This fits the bill. Seems sturdy for my needs and it includes a small ball head! What a great deal.

I am thrilled!!!
I am an older woman who has just about stopped using my tripod because it was so heavy and hard to minipulate. Not with this one. My camera and favorite lens weigh almost 7 pounds. It works great on this tripod. The tripod is well made, easy to assemble, so light weight and tiny folded in its case. It's a true winner.

OK
Series not identified on packaging; deduced from minimalist directions pamphlet; didn't know on ordering that there were 3 series of the product. Looks a little cheap, but hoping it functions OK. Looks small and light enough for travel, which was the point of ordering it. Have yet to determine how well-made it is.

Awesome travel tripod
This little guy extends to a surprising hight concidering it's super compact traveling mode. The construction is the solid and the head is feels nice. The only drawback is the legs take some time to fully extend but quick release would add size and weight. All in all this is a solid choice for travel and backpacking.

Nice, compact tripod
Very easy to use and to carry. It may not fully extend to a height that is fully comfortable for some, but I don't have a real issue using it. The color isn't overwhelming, so you may want to purchase one of the lesser priced tripods. Even though it is small, the tripod easily works for my medium format camera.

Amazing for its weight
If you want a tripod for backpacking or carrying a ways, this is perfect. Extremely sturdy considering its weight, I have used it in decent wind and feel comfortable with it. Definitely go with a heavier tripod if weight isn't a concern though, as its lightweight will probably cause some problems in heavy winds

Great find!
I have aTravel Tripod but it was a little too heavy for me.This one is lighter and easy to carry .I love the ball head and it's panoramic panning. The legs are very easy to open and collapse & spreading the Tripod legs will be good for Macro shots! The hook on the bottom of the column will be an asset !

real nice tripod and great service, best
First the servuce, I got the tripod super fast and packed with care. The MeFOTO tripod is sturdy and easy to open and close. Itis small enough to fit inside my camera bag. One note, It dose not have a level tilt arm like most tripods. Not a huge deal, but look at the photos of the tripod. I love it.

It is good compromise of size and weight
I bought it for traveling with my Nikon D700 and lens 24-70. When it use on short legs everything is stable but with full open length it is become a little bit shaky and I am afraid to use it in windy weather. But I am a really happy with quality of the product, ballhead works fast and smoothly.

Just fits in the Lowepro Fastpack 350!
Totally agree with the positive comments. I just wanted to add that another pretty good point for me (and I guess for a lot of photographers) that it fits perfectly into the upper part of the Lowepro fastpack 350 backpack. I am really happy about that, because this way it is even more portable.

Big tripod, small package
We often travel on a motorcycle so space is very limited. This tripod is quite stable when in use and folds up small. The carry case is also very nice. It's light enough to carry too. It's not necessarily a replacement for a larger/heavier studio tripod but it does it's intended job very well.

Great Compact Tripod
I bought this to take on a cross country cycling tour. It's very compact and fits easily inside my Ortlieb pannier. It's not the lightest tripod in the world, but the weight is manageableand probably also makes the tripod sturdier. I'd recommend it to any traveler looking for a compact tripod.

Wonderful, reliable tripod.
First off, the only reason I'm rating this a '4' is because I wish the height of the fully extended tripod was about a foot or so taller. Overall, this has been an awesome tripod. It's light, durable (I shoot with a very heavy camera and it holds well), and easily fits on or in your backpack.

Nice Travel Tripod
Well built travel tripod. After a fair amount of research I landed upon the BackPacker travel Tripod. In general I am pleased. It colapses into a very small foot print and is quite solid and well built. My only wish is that it would extend to longer than 52. 60 would give this 4 1/2 Stars.

Good travel tripod
Tripod is small and light to serve the purpose. I have tried my Canon 50D + battery grip + Tamron 18-270mm lens attached at home. There is no problem shooting portrait mode or landscape mode. The only con I have so far is the hook attached below the center column is not easy to pull out.
