Great for beginners
I bought this camera mainly because I'm hoping to use more film and photo in my social science research, I've also been using it to capture shots for a media project class. For a beginner at a student level, it works great.

Small but powerful
I upgraded from my 5 year old A6000. Everything about this camera is superior. I never dreamed that focusing a camera could be so easy. The ergonomics are not the greatest but I am accustomed to the layout.

Beautiful camera for travelling
Crisp eyepiece viewfinder and rear viewing panel, extremely light, top quality photos and extremely flexible shooting capability make this an excellent replacement for our Nikon D90 when we travel. The weight of the DSLR was getting to be a bit much when we went hiking, and having a camera so light and portable is a night and day experience. Recommend it for anyone starting out and would also recommend the zoom lens as it's always tough to switch lenses when you're on a trip and don't want to miss a shot.

Amazing Product
The Sony Alpha a6400 is a marvel! The perfect camera for short films, vlogging, documentaries, and so much more, the a6400 is a must-have for any level of videography! I have so much more to say about how good it is, but that would take away time from me using my own! Get this camera. Period.

great but not with video zoom
I bought the camera primarily because of its video capabilities. Unfortunately with this 18-135 zoom lens, when using video, you cannot use the rotation ring to zoom in or out. You have to use the ring on the lens itself. This makes it more likely to get a shaky video as you zoom in or out. Otherwise it is a nice compact camera with great features.

Good Upgrade
I noticed coming from sony a6300 it is a good improvement. Better focusing for sure, maybe a little better on the color science.

upgrade from my a6000
I've had the a6000 for 3 years and loved shooting with it! Decided to treat myself this Xmas and upgrade to the a6400, and so far loving it. The autofocus is awesome! I get more usable shots in action and wildlife situations. Realtime Eye AF is the bomb for portraits. I like the added weather sealing on this camera (lenses seem to fit more snugly) and also the slightly warmer colors out of the camera.

Sony a6400 is a good camera but this one was damaged
I was very excited to get the Sony a6400, and very disappointed that it arrived loosely packed in it's box and the camera body was shifting around way too much. I think it may have been damaged in the tumble of FedEx's conveyor belts because I got an error message the first time I turned it on and the screen would randomly go through periods of blacking out just a second after I would turn it on. Love it
I am not a professional photographer but have an online store selling jewelry and have been using a Sony DSC-HX1 w/ lens adapter 72mm macro. I decided to upgrade from a point and shoot and stayed with Sony - went with a6400. B & H specialists really helped me narrow down what I needed and I love this camera with an added Sony E 30mm f/3.5 Macro Lens. I couldnt be happier. I am still learning and will be for a while but images are beautiful.

I have some point and shoot sony's and wanted to go mirrowless so I researched and bought the a6400. Couldn't be more pleased with it. Just now to pick up so lenses. Came with the kit 18-135 which is taking fine images but I'd like to go further.

Huge improvement over the a6000
The major drawback of the a6000 was its iffy autofocus. That is strikingly solved by the 6400. Autofocus and especially AF tracking are very impressive. There are other cameras of this type and in this price range that exceed it in one feature or another, but overall this is a fine camera, and if spot-on tracking AF is important to you, give it some serious consideration.

Legit and affordable purchase.
The items were delivered earlier than expected and in very good condition. I wanted to buy it here in Japan because people usually say its cheaper, but I found out Japan only sells the Japanese version that does not have English settings. This purchase ended up being cheaper than what people usually say that buying in Japan would be cheaper.

Fantatic camera
I have my camera only for few days but it's not my first one in the Sony mirrorless line. I had an NEX6 which is old enough by now. The a6400 came just on time for that I am travelling for business with the weekend in between. It juat gave me a chance to spend sometime taking photos. My first impression is so positive. Big things in a small package
I used to have the A7III and it was an amazing camera. However, a huge event made me realize that I wasn't worthy of such a beast, so I looked back and went with the a6400 instead. I will miss the high ISO quality on that full frame camera, but being able to carry such a light camera without tiring your hand or neck is a pretty fun experience by itself. Yes most of us wished it had a newer sensor, but right now, it outperforms most of the competition especially in low light video.

New to Sony
My camera for the past few years was the Panasonic g85 with 4/3 sensor. It was easy to use, but I found the results to be lacking. Recently purchased the Sony Alpha a6400 is a vast improvement but the leaning care is a little steep. Working with B&H was a pleasure. Service was prompt and courteous when I called.

Upgrade from A600 to an A6400
I upgraded from an Alphas 6000 body to the Alpha 6400 recently as I wanted the better low level light capacity and for the better moisture and dust protection offered by this camera. I have just returned from a vacation where the weather was overcast for most of the trip and that included some days of rain. A great little workhorse, fantastic auto focus
I've had this little camera for 5 months now and have shot events, graduations, vacations, and fashion shows with it. In all cases, it does not fail to perform and the kit lens is quite good for what it does. It doesn't perform as well as other lenses but i've gotten some fantastic landscape shots with it.

Awesome Camera/Lens Combo
This camera lens setup is absolutely the best for your travel needs. It was my main camera/lens for a three week cruise throughout Italy and the Mediterranean. It is lightweight, very versatile and the images produced are excellent. The only drawback is battery life, I opted for an additional battery holder which helped that problem.I would definitely recommend this product.
