Perfect hikingg tripod?
I think the pictures do not pay justice to just how small it is. When I saw the box from B&H, I thought they forgot to put it into the parcel. When I saw the tripod's box, I thought that it was really small. When I opened the box, I thought that I bought tripod legs without the head. But no, no, no. It is a full tripod and it is really small. Granted I had it only for an hour now, but it looks well built; and more importantly, it handles 5D with ... Show More

Great travel tripod that only weights 1.6-1.7 LBS
This tripod maxes out at 35 or so without using the center column. This is quite short but significantly better than these mini tabletop tripods. If you want to be low to the ground, just don't extend the legs! It is a compromise tripod and nothing else is like this one - not at 1.6 LBS with my FLM ballhead and the flashlight removed. It is 1.7 LBS with the included ballhead and the flashlight. Try finding a tripod with specs like these, hard to ... Show More

Good choice for light weight backpacking/travel
I bought this as a replacement for a Cullmann/Bogen tripod I'd been using for 30 years that weighed 600 grams. This is heavier, but seems like the best available on the current market. It's biggest drawback so far is height, which is about 4 feet maximum (my old tripod was about 5 feet, which was a much more reasonable approximation of eye-height views). That's about it for bad points, except to note that the LED flashlight is pretty much useless... Show More

Excellent travel tripod!
I was planning a trip out to Joshua Tree and decided to spring for a travel tripod to try to get some decent night sky photos. I'm a very light traveler but also didn't want something so chintzy and top-heavy that it would be unusable-- this tripod struck the right balance for me with my Sony A7. No problems squeezing this into my carry-on for a one week trip, in fact it's so compact that it actually fits in my 16L day hiking pack, an unexpecte... Show More

Great Travel Tripod
I bought this tripod for hiking and travel. It is surprisingly sturdy and lightweight. The small ball head handled a Nikon D750 with 300mm f4 lens and TC1.7 converter well locking down tightly. I was uncomfortable with the small Arca Swiss style plate so I replaced it with a larger one. The flashlight is so difficult to turn on and off that I found it useless. The legs adjust easily with twist style controls, and the center column can be reversed for easy ground level shooting, a feature I have already used several times. Overall a great carbon fiber tripod and ball head for the price.

A little wobbly, but still good for travel
I bought this tripod for travelling and hiking. It is small enough to fit inside the top section of the Tenba daypack. It holds my Fuji X-T1 and larger Fuji lenses fine with the top two leg sections extended, but is a little wobbly when the lowest leg section is also extended. It's also not very tall, which I am fine with. It's a trade-off for having a tripod which is light enough and small enough to carry in a daypack. If you want a taller, rock-solid tripod, this isn't the one for you. If you want something small and light for hiking, this might be the tripod for you.

Very light weight tripod
I finally had occasion to use this tripod on a trip to Utah. I needed to carry a tripod over a rather rough mile trail in darkness to take a sunrise image of the Moab Arch. This tripod is much lighter to carry than my usual tripod. My camera was a Canon 6D with a wide angle lens, and the tripod supported this camera easily. However, I do not think this tripod would be suitable for a larger camera and a long telephoto lens used for bird photography.

Excellent - perfect for travelers
When I bought it there was no reviews and I was a bit worried if this is strong enough but I am more than surprised how sturdy it is for the weight - and well built. Easy to fold and compact. Prefect for hiking and biking as I do many times. I have also no problem after a lot of salt water spray from the ocean. Sometimes I change the head - looks a bit funny on this delicate tripod but with 2 legs out it even handles a heavy tele lens.

Smallest Lightest Sturdiest Portable Tripod
I was planning to buy the SlikSprint Mini III Travel Tripod with SBH-100 DQ Compact Ball Head (Gun Metal Gray). I had the old version of the Slik before. Then, I came across this tripod. Shorter by 2 inches than the Slik when fully stretched, it's not a deal-breaker. It's also shorter than the slik when folded. It fits easier in the bag.

A slight disappointment
Nice light weight easy to handle tripod that Ive waited two years to buy. I like everything about it except for the plate that holds the camera. Im using a Nikon d7100 with an 18-300 lens. The tripod supports the weight of the gear but that plate is really small. I had no idea!

Light and Stable
I havent had the opportunity to fully test this tripod yet but my initial use has impressed me. Eventually my use for this will include holding my Vortex Razor HD 11-33x50 spotting scope and my rifle at other times using a Swiss-Arca rail.

great for spotting scope
I bought this to use with a 20-60x80 spotting scope for target shooting. Seems very stable on a shooting bench with legs adjusted in the low and medium position. Head also stays where you adjust it . Happy with purchase.

Light weight, easy to use.
My main tripod is a CF Gitzo. This isn't as stable, but in decent light (i.e. faster shutter speeds) and not extending the center column, it's a joy for my aging body to transport and stable enough for normal shooting.

Slik tripod
Only used once...had no use for flashlight this trip. Would not exactly place in lite weight category but I guess it is relative. Not looking forward to carrying to Prague and all the walking. But decent tripod.

Perfect!
This is the perfect size and weight when you are 'on the road'! I'll no longer have to drag a much heavier tripod that is also large to carry.

Compact, light, and solidly built. Easy to set up and fold back down. Very sturdy with my Fuji X-T2 on it. Great travel tripod.
