Center joint easily breaks apart.
I had bought this tripod as a set, which also includes 482 Micro Ball Head, 709 Extension column, a thread adapter and a high quality leather bag. The whole set is extremely useful when shooting night scenes and macros. And it also serves as a great stabilization assist when shooting hand-held (just attach it to the camera and lean it against a stable table, wall, rock or even your chest!).But... and it is a big but... The most crucial part, the ... Show More

Little Titan
I have been using 709b for about 4 years and love it. Don't let the small size fool you. It is very strong and sturdy. I had mounted gopro, flash to pro dslr with 70-200mm. No problems. Of course I won't rest my weight on it like I would as though it is a 055 or 190 for added stability. Recently, I managed to break off one of the legs rather spectacularly while using it with gopro. Disappointed, far from it. I am very rough with it. So, I immedia... Show More

Manfrotto 209 tabletop tripod
At first I was worried that this tripod might be too small for a Canon VIXIA HF G20 video camera but it has been quite stable. (It is important to understand that the G20 is lighter than many high end SLR's with a zoom lens attached). Coupled with the Manfrotto 128LP micro fluid head, the setup gives me the flexibility to shoot low angles in odd positions. I also have the 209B 10 extension that allows more up and down movement but stability is so... Show More

Sturdy and compact.
Used this with a Nikon D90 and primarily the 18-105mm for my latest vacation. Added the 234 swivel tilt head for a cheap and light travel tripod option. Tripod stayed with me for the entire trip and never felt heavy or in the way. Overall quite pleased with the legs/head combination for simple shots where you have a wide enough place (like a rock or a wall, need around 8 inches wide) to setup the camera. Stable enough for what it is. Also works O... Show More

Small Tripod Big Strength
Wow is all i can say about this tripod, I bought this to take on a trip LA in a few weeks and for taking up to the Hancock and Sear Tower observatories. I didnt want to travel with my large tripod and the observatories do not allow tripods (this is so small you can sneak it in). I use this with a manfrotto 488RC2 ball head attached. My Canon 7D with my heaviest lens Canon 70-200mm 2.8L IS is supported by this tiny little tripod. I dont think I wi... Show More

Best Small Support Going for VR 360 camera
I bought this small tripod base to screw into a light stand for use with my Rico Theta S 360 degree camera. With five 22 inch sections for the light stand, the whole thing extended puts the camera up to about 9.5 feet in the air. When a 360 degree shot is made the tripod stand is so tiny that it is not seen and I have found that I can also place my foot on one of the legs to really hold it steady and still the stand nor the tripod can be seen. It is the perfect solution for me and the whole almost 10 foot stand is nothing to carry around.

Fine for level surfaces, but....
The legs open full spread, cannot use them other than fully spread out or you risk collapse. The picture shows open to an intermediate spread, but that is not locked and the weight and/or angle of the camera can cause one or more legs to just slide out and collapse the entire setup. For non-level surfaces, would need to have the base adapt to the angle and use the bullhead to level the camera, and even then I'd be nervous. A good tripod but I find its use significantly restricted. Am looking at an alternative.

Terrific
I love this little thing. It actually is only 6 when broken down so you can stick it in a small bag with your micro 4/3 camera for example, as I do. I take mostly pictures of dogs so this is great for steadying the camera at their level. If you want to do landscapes, well...look elsewhere. It has the Manfrotto 492 ball head which is very nice. And a little tube that will attach in 4 seconds for a little more height. A GREAT take-with-you-all-the-time-in-your-bag tripod.

too limited
After using this leg set (and separate center column)I think it is suitable for indoor use and for smaller cameras. Outdoors there isn't enough adjustment in the legs to be stable. Also, the footprint of the extended legs isn't large enough to adequately support a full size DSLR + macro lens. While the components are sturdy enough, I had difficulty getting the mounting plate collar tight enough to stay put; same problem with the center column.

Awesome Tripod
Wanted a compact, sturdy easy to use tripod for my Sony RX100. It is very well made, smooth in operation and provides a secure, stable mount for traveling light. Unlike many of the other table top tripods I looked at, it is evident that there was more attention to detail in the manufacture of this product than many of it's competitors. The castings (legs) and machining (ball head) are very nice, resulting in a smooth operation...

Excellent base for travel tripod
Wanting a very small tripod for travel for securely mounting a Leica M or even a small digital SLR, I found most offerings either too big, or not strong enough. This base is ideal, very packable, and mounting a Manfroto ballhead on it gave me the heft to support cameras of higher weights solidly. The whole tripod and ballhead arrangement fits in the pouch of a small camera bag. Perfect solution to a difficult problem.

Great small tripod
I've been looking for something portable to keep in my bag for the unplanned slow shutter speed shots. This, plus a mini ballhead fit the bill. I was able to take a sharp 15 second(!) shot with a Canon 7D and Zeiss 21mm lens (it's really heavy) by bracing this tripod against a solid surface. For taking shots without the bracing, you'll want to have the lens directly over one of the legs.

Only mini-tripod you'll need
These legs, plus the 492 micro ball head and the 259B extension tube make a great piece of kit. The legs provide a solid, stable base, easily handling both my Canon G11 and 20D. I use this setup to photograph miniatures, such as model RR layouts and as a general mount when traveling light. This tripod, plus a cable release makes taking rock steady macro shots in available light a breeze.

versatile
Very nice mini-tripod. Lightweight, quickly adjustable and stable. Good footing also, doesn't slip around on every surface. The only problem for me is the length of the legs. When I rotate my camera to portrait, the whole setup flips around, so have to take out the big tripod... But it's a tebletop tripod so the size is understandable. And Manfrotto, always excellent build quality!

Excellent for macro work.
I use this with the short extension and a small ball head with a quick release as a mounting platform for small objects for macrophotography. I use black foam core that I clamp in the quick release as a horizontal platform for the objects, then raise and lower the tripod extension as needed. This unit is quite well-constructed and will hold a DSLR and lens.

For non standard usage.
We use it to hold a Rode NT2A microphone for fieldwork. The tripod is stable and strong enough although the mic is bulky and over 1kg. We probably use it to it's limit. We have purchased from B&H previously and find them honest and reliable, and to be complimented on the extensive range. Good people to deal with, shipping to Aus trouble free.

Good product, recommend extender
Stable, nice tripod. Picture shows leg only about 50% extended. Fully extended the head of the tripod is only a few inches (like 4-5 max) off the ground even with a ball head. I would recommend the central extender arm. I tried to use this at the beach and my camera was very close to touching the sand with the arms extended.

Small but sturdy
This is smaller than I imagined. It has a 125mm (aprox. 5 inches) radius with a 45 mm height. The extension for an extra $ is very useful. Both pieces are strong and well made. I put the Manfrotto 128RC head on it plus a spotting scope and it works despite some shaking. I put a small dslr on it and it was very stable.

High Quality From Manfrotto
I use these with the Manfrotto 492 micro ball head. These legs are really well made and very sturdy. They have little non-slip pads on the end with prove quite useful. I use these legs mainly for my Leica M cameras, but have had success using with my Canon 7d. They fit easily into a small camera bag

This tiny tripod fits standard heads. It may be an option for light weight pano support. I plan to try it with arca swiss monoball p0 head as integrated levelling + pano unit and a nodal slide to be used from table/rock top positions. The small footprint may require down pressing.

VERY SOLID
With this solid little 209 Tabletop Tripod Legs I added a 259B Extention Column and a 492 Micro Ball Head and just leave the unit with the camera attached on the dinning room table to capture great shots of the birds and squirels. It is Very compact and strong unit.

Legs--need ballhead, too!
Even though the reviews are separate, the legs and the baby ballhead can be purchased together (as I purchased them.) I have had this outfit before and gave the old one to a friend. Invaluable for travel. Works well for a chestpod to help steady with a tele, too.

Wonderful product
Great product and very useful in situations when you can not use the full size tripod. I found it handy ,easy to use, sturdy and light weight. It supported very well ( with the head came with it ) my camera Canon 60-D and a lens loaded to it ( Canon 18-200 mm ).

Solid and small
As someone who has long preferred ball head tripods, I was hoping for solid construction and pleasantly enough, got it. All parts are well-constructed and the cordura case is small enough to slip in my camera bag. A perfect fit for my Sony RX100iii.
