030-14 Hexagonal Quick Release Plate with 1/4-20 Screw by M

Aug 17, 2015

I purchase the hexagonal plate from B&H and it is pefect for holding my stronger lenses, even when i rotate the camera, the locking mechanism is so tight that the camera does not flinch, this plate is perfect for those who use the Bogen tripods, this is not the flat screw bottom, i find that that one loosens up easily, this has the extra dial at the botton to lock it tight

Rock solid head for studio work. Very versatile and reliable with a small or medium format camera, and even larger ones. Levers and levels are very helpful.

Manfrotto - can't go wrong

Jul 8, 2015

we have a few cameras for use at work. we use manfrotto tripods. gear is dependable. periodically someone loses a quick release plate, easy to get a replacement. Only negative is cost -but then again, you pay for what you get --as they say.

Precise Bogen Replacement

Jun 12, 2015

This quick release plate was a precise replacement for my 30 year old tripods. After purchasing one I bought two more. I am looking forward to letting your readers know how the rubber cushion holds up in comparison to the Cork material over the next 30 years.

Love this piece of equipment!

We have three stations with this ball head that are used daily for 8+hours and they never loosen or get off kilter. I would buy 10 more of the same if needed! Highly recommend.

Weighs a ton, but worth it.....

I do macro and landscape photography (including time lapse & stars). A sturdy tripod and head is essential. I prefer a 3-way head rather than a ball. This head is fantastic.

This head is adjustable

Mar 19, 2015

I have the older 3039 head, which is similar, and if you are not aware of this, you should know that all the tensions on this head can be adjusted. It is similar to the old 4047 three way head, but it uses a different handle arrangement with adjustable tension. Under the handles for pan and tilt you will find 13 millimeter nuts, and on the back side of the horizontal tilt, another nut. Changing the tension of those nuts will set the drag for that... Very good mount-easy to use

Mar 18, 2015

This is a very solid mount for all cameras. I have used this mount on both my Nikon and on medium format. I ordered a second one so that I don't have to switch it from camera to camera when I am shooting with multiple bodies.

True professional gear

Jan 1, 2015

I've been using this and the predecessor, Bogen 3047, on all of the tripods we have for large format (4x5) in my university photo program for many years. This is the ultimate professional tripod head. Virtually indestructible, smooth movements, easy usage. A pleasure to work with.

Just what I needed, and in stock!

Dec 9, 2014

I found an old Manfrotto 3033 tripod at a flea market, complete with a 3047 head -- the only thing missing was the plate. It head was old enough that I wasn't sure I'd be able to find it easily, but B&H had it in stock and I was ready to roll. It took about 5 seconds to reserve online, jumped on the subway and got an email confirmation that it was ready to pick up as soon as I got off the subway. So easy and exactly what I needed.

Fits my old Manfrotto Pro Tripod perfectly. I lost my other one, think I left it behind at a shoot. This piece feels solid and works like a charm. Holds my camera in place whenever I have to move around. Excellent, sturdy, would buy again, and love the B&H price!

best tripod head ever!

Feb 5, 2014

I have used nearly all kinds of tripod heads from ball heads to geared heads. If you have a medium-format camera and want to have non-blurred images due to the tripod being light and hard to use, this head is for you. I keep my light weight sirui ball head just incase I need to travel by myself..

I use these hex plates everyday. They are sturdy and do not slip. I have several extra and keep one on my flash bracket and others on different camera bodies and lenses. I have 4 heads that use the hex plates.

Older Style Manfrotto Plates

Jan 27, 2013

I recently bought some new hexagonal tripod mounting plates for my older style Bogen ball head. I thought long and hard about buying a new ball head which I have had on my want list for several years. I am mounting a Nikon D700 with MD 10 grip, an 80-200 Nikkor lense and a Kirk mount. That is quite a bit of wieght to hang on a tripod expecially at 90 degrees to the side. The mounts hold solidly even when I carry the setup on my tripod over the sh... Show More
