Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera with 24-105mm f/4L II Lens

Solid performer but lags competition in a few features
I got the 5DM4 to replace my 6D and 7D and it's a significant upgrade for me, so I'm quite pleased with the performance. But I did try the Sony A73 before purchasing this one and realized that Canon does lag in some key features (I returned the A73 because of terrible ergonomics and EVF) Pros: Superb image quality, new AF system with a quick access button, excellent ergonomics that I'm used to, seamless Wifi connectivity Cons: No Eye AF!, Focus ... 5DIV has serious auto focus issues
I purchased the 5DIV thinking it would be an upgrade from my 5DII. I was wrong. 80% of the shots with the 5DIV are out of focus, soft, and in some cases there is nothing in focus (which I don't understand, but it is happening). I have sent the camera in to Canon twice with my lens. The first time they made adjustments but did not fix the problem, and the second time they said nothing was wrong with the lens and camera. To make sure the problem wa... Show More

The 5D All Grown Up!
Wow. All of those little things you always wished your camera could do! Wifi, gps, touchscreen, great af, excellent dynamic range, great high iso performance, sturdy, better weather proofing, great image quality...I could go on. Some of these things may not be on your radar as necessary features. I didn't care about the touchscreen when I ordered it, but wow, you don't realize how great that feature is until you have it and use it. For what I do ... Show More

Love this Camera
I lost my Canon 6D to moisture corrosion? No clue why, but the body is not weather sealed (hey Canon you might mention that in you description, rather than it's not waterproof! DUH!!!) anyway massive research into another 6D or upgrade? After much sole searching and review reading settled on the 1/3 more expensive 5D Mark IV with C-log. If you read other reviews about those who upgraded rom a 6D? They are correct this while $1000 more, it's a... Show More

Competent workhorse.
The more I work with and learn this camera, the more I like it. All the new conveniences like the touch screen are welcome, but the increase in focusing capabilities and dynamic range make the 5D IV a significant upgrade to the 5D III and the 7D II for my uses. I bought it mainly for wildlife/birds. The 7 fps is not 10, 12 or 14-16 fps, but its adequate at an affordable price point for me, and the increase in image in quality makes up for the com... Best Hybrid Camera
I use this camera for professional video and photo use and it performs excellent at both. Pros: dual pixel autofocus works smoothly (best in the market), beautiful canon colors, 4k, slomotion capability (60p and 120p), built in timelapse video function, HDR video mode, viewfinder 2 shows a lot more information, rugged build quality Cons: 4k has a crop factor, 120 fps slomo is only at 720p It's hard to find a camera that can do it all at a good pr... They Had Me At 30 Megapixels . . .
I would have bought the Mark iv just for the extra resolution, to make bigger prints and license more double-truck images without resorting to upscaling. But the camera has many other improvements that make my work easier and faster. The touch screen, for example, lets me focus in live view just by pointing to the spot I want in focus. I can do a series for focus stacking without having to steer the cursor around with the multi-controller. The co... Show More

Upgraded from 6D and was a big jump!
I am a car photographer who was using the Canon 6D. My go-to lens is the 24-70L 2.8 ii and i can see quite a bit difference in my photos, they are cleaner and sharper, less noise (even at high iso). Autofocus and speed and buffer is also quite an upgrade. I shot some rolling shots while driving (see attached) and is super crisp and clear (1/60 f6). I shot my kids soccer game with my 70-200L 2.8 and could easy snap crisp photos during bright sunny... Show More

Camera is great - not sure about the lens.
I was saving up to purchase a Canon 5D Mark III when the Mark IV came out. The Mark III prices went down and the Mark IV was higher than the old Mark III. After some thought and reading reviews, I went for the Mark IV and have not looked back. This is my first full frame camera, having purchased two Canon crop frames in the past, most recently the 7D. The ability to focus by touch on the live view screen is a great feature. Regular focus is also ... Show More

I am in love
I love the Canon 5D mark IV. I??ve been a photographer for over eight years and this is seriously the best camera I??ve ever owned. I am completely mesmerized by it. The wifi connection was easy, I use it on my iphone and ipad which is great because I mostly work as a architecture photographer. The body is light, which is surprising. The touch screen is a great extra. It is a easy to use camera that gives great results. Other than the camera, the... Show More

Very Pleased so Far!
Bought the camera as an upgrade to my 6D. While the images were great out of the 6D, the limitations of the AF system were increasingly frustrating. What a difference in AF with the 5DIV! It is nice not to be constrained by the center point. The ISO performance is phenomanal! Images at 6400 are very clean and images at 12800 are very useable. I also believe the metering system is a significant improvement over the 6D, which has a tendency to unde... Show More

Upgraded from a Mark iii and very happy
This thing is awesome. It really fills some holes for me that my Mark iii couldn't fill. I like to shoot fast, low light, moving objects and crop. So this Mark iv does this fantastically. Picture quality and color seem improved also. Color and contrast just look better. High ISO works great though I wish it were even higher. Focuses faster in lower light. I use a EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM and a 1.4X II converter and I get all focal points... Show More

Solid Utility Camera
The Mark IV is an improvement over the Mark III in almost every respect. As a landscape and wildlife photographer I appreciate the additional resolution. The shutter is quieter and shakes the camera less. When you are not able to use mirror lockup this is important. I do not use video so I cannot comment on those capabilities. The only disappointment is the hype over the dual pixel bokeh and focus adjustments during the post production. Using mic... Show More

A major upgrade
I had a Canon EOS 5D 0 the first iteration with no I applied to it. I bought it used and did a lot of work shots with it. I noticed its poor low light focus where it would hunt and it often never figured out where to settle upon and it simply would not trigger. The new Mk IV, however, seems to have no problem at all in similar scenarios, plus the imaging is outstanding. It is a major upgrade that comes with a major learning curve, so be prepared ... Really glad that I finally bought my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera! This is the upgrade, for me from my Canon EOS 5D Mark II bodies, which have served me professionally, so well. Needless to say, it's always better to have more resolution, and sensitivity, which the 5D Mark IV definitely provides. Among other subjects, I shoot action, and am pleased with the improve functions of the ADVANCED autofocusing system. Kudos to Canon for these latest... Show More

Impressed worthwhile upgrade from the 5D M3 !!!
I'm using canon for over 20 years professionally for photography and Sony a7S for video which is amazing. Love the DR of the sony so I purchased the sony a7R II with a goal of slow transition to mirrorless. The DR of the a7RII is beautiful but the low light capability past 2000 iso was surprisingly bad, after returning it got the Canon 5D M4 and was blown away with the low light quality which is essential for my event photography, more important ... The best of the 5Ds
I have been using Canon cameras since the 70's. Yes, I'm that old! While I miss many things about my old cameras and shooting film I have grown accustom to the 5Ds - this is my fifth one, my second Mark IV. I think the most important thing about a camera is your familiarity to it and its system. A camera is a tool, an extension of your eye and your creative thought process. It needs to become a part of you. All of the functions should be second n... Show More

Really loving this camera
If all you do is watch YouTube videos and read reviews of this camera, all you will hear is people verbally defficating all over this camera saying that the Sony or Panasonics are better cameras. As a 50/50 photo and video user, I can say that this is the best camera I've used. The sheer user experience alone is worth it. I've shot with both Sony and Panasonic, and for me the Canon wins hands down in user ability. It's just enjoyable to shoot. Th... Show More

Best of the line
I had a Mark III which I sold to get this. The upgrades are remarkable in three ways for me. First is the touchscreen controls which are fast and an alternative to the Q button on the back. Next is the AF button on the back, new since the Mk III, which I find is not very useful for AF, but moreso for me to custom set it to control ISO rapidly and without taking my eye from the eyepiece. Last is GPS labeling of photos. I used to carry a separate l... Show More

This camera is an upgrade from the 5DIII. I have used it for 3 weeks, almost entirely shooting stills. As advertised, the IQ is improved, with greater resolution, low light performance, and dynamic range. The built in WiFi and GPS are nice additions, but probably contribute to battery drain.
