Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera with 24-105mm f/4L II Lens

Great Update and Evolution of a Reliable Product Line
I shoot both stills and video in my profession. For stills I shoot both in studio with portraits, fine art and digital works as well as events, on location and weddings. This camera is now used along side my Canon 5D Mark III. For video I typically shoot weddings and events, some talking head stuff too. The new Dual Pixel auto focus makes tracking subjects with video fantastic. I haven't tried out the HDR video feature, but hope to soon. Overall I'm very happy with the focus performance and lo light clarity of this camera. I would love to have another!!!

Everything I expected and more
I am primarily an outdoor shooter doing small insects with a Canon 200 mm lens. Compared to my 7D which is an excellent body the 5D Mark IV beats it hands down. Full frame with 50% more pixels and really good focusing makes shooting tiny fast moving critters a joy. Canon's software for processing RAW images is easy to use and makes conversion to JPEG straight forward. I have not tried all the focus options yet but I'll see how well they fit my needs. Rarely have I ever been this pleased with a new piece of hardware after shooting over 300 images so far.

Glad I upgraded
I have been shooting the 5D Mark III for a number of years and love it! I hesitated to upgrade because the biggest difference for my purposes was the auto-focus on the Mark IV in video mode, and I am just now starting to do any video at all (mostly for personal use). I shoot a lot of weddings in low light without flash, so the improved handling of noise over the Mark III has been a plus. I found the transition from the Mark III to the Mark IV to be very smooth. Overall, it was worth the upgrade. I'm keeping my Mark III as my back-up and selling my 60D.

Amazing!
I upgraded from my 6D to the 5D Mark iv and all I can say is wow! I wish I would've upgraded last year when it was released. Having all the focus points, that actually work and can grab focus, was a game changer for me. No more focus and recomposing which was giving me soft focus photos. I love the speed of continuous shooting - it feel 10x faster than the 6D. I also love that size of the camera body. And having the touch screen on the back is a time saver when navigating. You won't regret this purchase. This is a must camera body for any photographer.

Disappointing Auto Focus
I have been shooting 5D Mark iii for a couple of years. Mainly shooting portraits, but I thought I will be nice to have auto focus for videos occasionally. I am impressed with the quality of the video images. However, 2 big downsides: 1, there is quite a loud focusing noise created during auto focusing. The focusing noise makes using external shotgun mic on this camera not a good option. 2, autofocusing is not as good it I expected. Here is a Youtube video shot with this camera with canon 85mm L lens. The camera seems had trouble focusing on my face.

Best Canera I Ever Owned!
This is my second Canon 5D IV. Its ergonomic and the button placement is so intuitive. I have won many shows using this camera in a multitude of genres from still life to portraiture along with landscape/seascape captures. Wildlife photos are excellent too. The 5D IV is a reliable workhorse that delivers spectacular images. Along with an armada of L lenses you can never go wrong. I also have two Canon 5D IIIs which I wont part with. When a camera can become an extension of your minds eye photography becomes an art form that freezes moments in time.

fantastic camera for who love nature and wildlife
I make decision to buy this camera very hard because I love 1Dx so much for wildlife shot but between wildlife and Nature I mostly belong to Nature so now after a week I'm very happy to 5D mark IV to wildlife shot because 7 fps that enough to me . I hope you still remember 1D mark II N by that time it was the best camera for sport wildlife so right now just 7fps + 30M pixel how it work will depend on you the different just the exposure and pictures you shot . anothe thing I should say I love hight ISO 5D mark IV very much very smooth even above 1250

In a better sense, a great camera!!
Improved DR, high ISO is remarkable, AF is greatly improved, much maligned by video enthusiast in which I have no care to use often to never, it's a stills camera first and foremost, I've owned all the 5D's sans 5DS/R, it's always about the image quality and it's packed with a better features to compete in which they don't really have to, shutter sound is amazing, don't care much about DPAF or DLO slows camera down, touchscreen is very functional, Is it worth the cost of doing an upgrade from a 5DIII, indeed,.. Thanks B&H for the fast shipping!!

Quality of life features are quite nice
Could I have bought a mk3 and invested the extra cash in lenses? certainly, however I am glad I bought the mk4, the low light performance is quite nice and the added wifi/GPS is a pretty neat inclusion that can be used or not depending on your preference. I am not a fan of the Compact Flash and I feel that this is a legacy choice that needs to be fleshed out in upcoming models, use the space for another SD card and something else. I do find the procedure to enable/disable wifi and GPS a bit cumbersome and unnecessary, this should be a key combo.

Suberb Camera
When I bought the Mark III almost 2 years ago I was happy with the promotion price I paid from B&H. I'm still happy with that camera and purchase, but the EOS 5D Mk IV is really the camera I wanted, I just didn't know it yet. The Mk IV reviews convinced me to lay out the dough and I am glad I did. It is going to take me a while to understand this camera and put all the features to use, but the big plus is the touch screen LCD. This one will last me quite a while. Another plus is that B&H will give me a reasonable trade in price for my Mark III.

Good upgrade from 5D3
Thanks to BH i received the camera last Friday with next day shipping. It's unfortunate you can't use raw files because adobe doesn't support it yet. What was the point and advantage for us to order this and get it next day if we can't even use raw files? I mainly bought this for video futures. Touch screen works great. Unfortunately you can't use that future when shooting 120fps. I also wish they added cfast card. I have 1dx Mark2 and now have to carry two separate card readers. Overall good upgrade from 5d3 but could have been a lot better.

Excellent purchase!
I've held off for a year purchasing this fine camera before biting the bullet. It absolutely meets my expectations! While it was the holiday promotional pricing that finalized my decision, I wished that I had waited for a different promotion...one that included a battery pack, rather than the cleaning kit, memory card and camera case. B&H was absolutely superior in its service and delivery of my camera, as it has always been in previous purchases. I fully trust B&H and plan to shop at this magical place for all my future photographic needs.

This thing is a beast.
I absolutely love this camera. I use it for my wedding business, for landscape photography, and high-action skiing photography. It performs great in all of the three diverse situations that I shoot it. Full-Frame and high megapixels are great for landscapes and weddings. The AF is incredible as well...better than I expected for the freeski photography that I do as well. I used to shoot on 16GB memory cards, but I think I will need to go to 32GBs because the RAW files come in at upwards of 40MB and a 16GB card can only hold about 250 photos.

Worth the wait!
I've been waiting for this camera to be developed along time. I received it last week. I put it through its paces ever since. This camera is amazing. The dynamic range, bokeh, color. Subjects just jump out. The 24-105 f/4 II is crisp and sharp. I'm thrilled with this combo. The WiFi is so easy and convenient. I record video rarely. I'll probably use 1080. I did adjust focus on one of my Sigma lenses in the camera. It was so easy to do. I have had a touch screen before, I won't have a camera without it now. All in all I couldn't be happier.

All it's claimed to be, and not to be.
Would've preferred more from camera's design...full frame 4k for ex...but I knew the upside and the limitations of the 5D IV and I chose it on purpose. Regardless of what it is not, the Mk IV is an incredible machine. Note: i initially tried a Sony f7rii...via a LensRental trial...no feature downside here...but in comparison shots w/my 3 Canon lens, comparing 5Dii vs f7rii, there is a disticnt colorcast w/ the Sony. Ckd this on Web, and there is some level of frustration there...and the 5DIV is familiar and close to my 7Dii. So here I am.

Canon Mark iv .. Ok upgrade
I own two 5diii, sold one to upgrade to the 5div, so far I am very happy with it, and images I would say are the same as the mark 3, a little disappointed that the camera images are the same as the mark 3, I would have thought after many years waiting for this upgrade there would have been a bigger image difference, and wish camera would have saved a f-stop on shots, but again it is the same as the mark 3, But don't get me wrong it is still a great camera, just wish it took better images at a lower f-stop than the camera it is replacing

Fantastic!
Coming from the original 5D(yes, the original, and still working great) this new Mark IV is a monumental step up. Autofocus is blisteringly fast. AI Servo tracking is spot on. Tethering through built in WiFi works well and allows for quick processing once in Lightroom Mobile. The 7 FPS burst works great for my casual shooting. Live View shooting is a very smooth experience. 4k video is very smooth, however it really chews up memory card space in a hurry, so I likely won't be using that much. Touch screen is very responsive with no lag.

Worthy upgrade from MkIII
13+ stops of dynamic range is a big inprovement. Iphone like touchscreen makes reviewing shots for correct focus a breeze. Much improved AF with large aperture prime lenses. Touch screen rack focus is hilariously easy. Not sure why anyone would complain about video codec, it's robust and has fewer issues than long GOP h264 varieties without the silly file structure of codecs like XVAC. Have been using Sony A series cameras for the past year. I'm happy to once again have Canon color, Eos layout sensibility and lenses with excellent DR.

Another Wonderful Product
I have been purchasing professional photography equipment from B&H for many, many years and this is just the next example of a wonderful buying experience. And the Canon 5D Mk IV purchase replaces the Canon 5DMk II that I also acquired from them. Best Prices, best service... Anywhere. And the Mk IVs super smooth shutter & mirror assembly is the first thing I noticed as a big performance difference from the Mk II. Just getting started with field work with it and I cant wait to examine the finished prints with the extra resolution.

Bomb proof, solid upgrade.
It's a rock solid update to the Mark III. The touch screen is cool and the WiFi works great with my iPad and iPhone. It does go through batteries a lot faster than the Mark III. I could get about 8,000 shots from two batteries on the Mark III. The Mark IV gets about 3,500 with two batteries. The increased resolution and dynamic range is welcome and really noticeable. The only issue is hard drive space now. Just go ahead and buy 128GB or 256GB cards to go in this thing to save you the trouble of swapping small cards all day long.

a worthwhile step up
Shooting landscape and wildlife photography for several years with a couple of full-frame Canon 6Ds yielded many solid images. So, given the price of the Canon 5D mark IV, I was a bit reluctant to make a switch. After a couple of months though, I am quite pleased to say the results are worth it! Overall image detail is fantastic. Don't get me wrong, the Canon 6D is a very capable camera. That said, if you shoot with Canon L glass and don't mind putting out the cash, then you owe it to yourself to give the Canon 5D mark IV a try.

Phenomenal DSLR
Since I am already invested in the canon system, I wanted to upgrade my camera body from the 6D Ive been shooting with for the past 5 years. Obviously the 5D series is a bit more full-featured but Im really blown away by the mark iv. Intuitive controls, touch-screen, low-light performance, its all there. I havent yet done any filming so I cant comment on the LOG or video performance yet. Still image quality is amazing with big latitude in the raw files. Very happy with my purchase and with my experience with B&H. Thank you.

Loved the body, lens okay
My basic all around camera. Photos when traveling including landscapes, architecture, street shots. Replaced the 5 D Mark III. Was extremely happy with the camera and could see great improvement in quality of shots. Was not as happy with the lens since my main interest was increased sharpness. Could not see that much improvement when I compared the lens to my original 24-105. So I returned the kit and just purchased the camera body. Would give the camera a 5 star rating and lens a 3 star and that's how it got a 4 star rating.

Love the high ISO performance
I upgraded from the 5D Mark III (also have the 7D Mark II). I was reluctant to upgrade but do not regret it. Everything is a little better overall, but in particular the high ISO quality is much better than the 5DIII. I made an image of a hummingbird at ISO 5000 and the noise was hardly noticeable. I also love the two-button back button focusing option (also available on 7DII). You can configure AF-ON to be servo and the star button next to it to be single point AF. Very versatile. Take the plunge, you will not regret it.
