Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR Camera with 24-105mm f/4L II Lens

Best Canon sensor yet!
The new sensor in the MK4 body is clearly the best available from Canon, its a full stop better than my MK3 and a full universe better than the 5D Classic. My detraction from a better score is that it is only available with the 24-70 F4 in a kit and not body only. This is the only Kit I have seen where you still pay FULL RETAIL price for both the body and the lens. The lens is nothing special at all and can only be graded acceptable and I do not feel it is of high enough image quality to be a good match for this new sensor. I will likely end up selling it at a loss rather than keep it.

My 4 favorite things about my new Canon 5D Mark IV
The 4 things I love the most about my new 5D Mark IV are: (1.)-The 30.4 mp sensor, (2.)-The quick and accurate focus, (3).-The 7 fps burst rate and (4.)-The unparalleled user definable button controls. A considerable amount of cropping was used on each of the photos shown below, yet the detail remained crisp. Back button focus setup is a breeze and very easy to work with. The hummingbird is an obvious example of the 7 fps burst capability and instant focus. Each photo was taken with a Tamron 70-200 2.5 lens, with the exception of the P-51 aircraft which was taken with the Canon 24-105.

Excited for this new professional tool
I'm a full-time wedding photographer and I've shot two weddings with this camera so far. I'm extremely impressed with the quality of the high ISO (I was only comfortable going up to 3200 with the Mark III before the loss of detail and high grain started to bother me; now I can go up to 6400 with the Mark IV with GREAT quality!). The touch screen and smartphone app is impressive, as is the built-in wifi. It feels a little more lightweight and I was already due for an upgrade from my two-year-old Mark III, so the timing on the release of the Mark IV was perfect for me. Definitely happy!

Good with weak points
Upgraded from 6D to 5D Mark IV. Much faster focusing speed than 6D. Not sure how much gain is there with the extra pixels. Its a benefit if you mount it on tripod a lot which I dont. The finer pixels dont really gain sharpness and are more prone to shaking. The worst part of the hardware is the terribly designed cable connectors for file transfer. It looks like Canon has paired with it a dangle enforcer to keep it from breaking. The connectors are two small, flimsy thin old cellphone types of connectors. It is beyond me how they think this is the best they got for a $3000 camera.

Amazing photos, could have better 4k video codec.
Amazing photos. but could have better video specs, like h.265 codec. and full frame 4k recording. This camera would be a killer if have h.265 codecat 500mbps recording. maybe it will be so good that Canon would kill its own pro camera market. So because of a market profit strategy we need to accept less than amazing. And imhaving some issues with the video that is variating shutter speed, not sure if is because of the memory card max speed not apropriatedfot 4k video recording, anyway the memory card was the one B&H send as gift with the camera. And some problems to achieve7fps.

As if I needed another one!
I am a hobbyist photographer and a product geek. I struggled with this decision due in most part that I had (traded it in) a 5DIII and really wanted a 1DX but just couldn't rationalize the extra $$$ so I opted for the 5DIV to complement my 5DsR. I shoot mostly landscape and the 5DsR is my go to for that but my new carry is the 5DIV with the 24-105 lens. I really like the GPS feature for logging locations and the output from the unit is tremendous. Having said that, I find it's much like playing golf, regardless of the club, or camera it's all the operator. But I'm still a geek.

Fantastic for Stills. Not for 4K.
I bought the mark 4 to replace a mark 3. For me it s a better camera in all aspects. The dynamic range and the high ISO are far better ! The wifi and the touch screen are very useful. The battery life is shorter than the mark 3. You must have at least 3 battery's for an entire day of shooting. The focus system is awesome ! Specially in dark light. The dual pixel system is very good too ! For stills I think than this is a fantastic camera. For video the focus system is very good. But for those who are looking for a 4 k camera...there are better options. That s why I Rest a star.

Nice go-to camera
This camera will give you photos as good, and more often than not, better than cameras at twice the price. Although the quality, build, and feel is not what you get in Canons flagship 1DX the results of most of your photos are as good and sometimes better. The lighter weight of the camera is a plus when doing long photo projects where youre carrying camera long periods. In my experience Canon has always given me better and more accurate color than Nikon so if youre buying for first time choose Canon format and this camera. It will give you many many years of top quality photos.

Massive upgrade over the 6D
I bought this camera as an upgrade over the 6D. My primary motivations were the improved focusing system and the improved dynamic range. The focusing system is absolutely phenomenal with this camera, especially coming form the 6D. The dynamic range is also at least a full stop better. Recovering shadows in my landscapes is so much better; I have already had several shots that I know would not have turned out well with the 6D but look great with the 5D Mark IV. Yes, the DR isn't quite as good as a Nikon or Sony, but the Canon color rendition and lens selection is where it's at.

This camera is a DREAM
I've owned every version of the 5D, and this one tops them all. I am glad they kept the basic interface the same. The big features for me are the autofocus and the touch screen. The autofocus is SPOT ON. My keeper rate has skyrocketed with this camera. I use back button auto focus and it's amazing. The touch screen takes some getting used to after using dials on the menu for years. I love how you can alter the touch sensitivity. I shot a home birth at 10,000 ISO. I had to apply a little noise reduction in post but I was so happy with the results. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this camera!

Amazing! Highly Recommended!
I left dslrs for mirrorless four years ago and until recently, I was using a Sony A7R ii. Mirrorless certainly have their place, but the 5D mk IV is the best all around camera that I have ever used. I'm a stills photographer, so not concerned with video features, and a Canon has nailed it! The body feels solid and is a touch lighter than the mk iii, touchscreen performs very well, autofocus is fast, the dynamic range is much improved and in my opinion, on par with the Sony sensor, and resolution is in the sweet spot for me. I am very happy to be back in the Canon ecosystem!

Excellent camera
I already had a 5D MK III and this was an addition. Big step up - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. More pixels, better AF, faster frame rate, better in low light, GPS, Wi-Fi and much more. With the Wi-Fi I can set up the camera behind an altar and shoot from the congregation using my phone and still have my other body for shooting too. Very flexible. I never used video much with my MK III but with video AF in the MK IV I am finding out I am tending to use it more. My package came with the Rode stereo mic which is a huge step up from the built-in mono mic. Great package.

Louder than expected, no subtly with this one.
The camera is fine. Obviously, much more sophisticated than its ancestor, the original 5d. But its louder and, of course heavier. My biggest complaint is that I purchased the camera with a 50 mm f 1.4 lens. I already had other Canon lenses including L series lenses. There was a ongoing rebate for 2 lenses. Within a couple of days I purchased the 24-70 mm f4. Then I found out that the rebate didnt apply because I didnt purchase them together with a single receipt. This doesnt seem fair. Thanks Canon. Things like this makes it hard to recommend Canon over other options.

I got what I expected!
I had been waiting for a while to purchase the 5D Mk IV and I have not been disappointed. The full-frame sensor has finally done justice to my L-series glass and the images are extraordinary. The 4K video is nothing short of amazing. My kids were amazed at the clarity (and so was I)! I like the customizable menus and have set them up for my most typical shots. My professional photographer buddy wants to borrow it for his weddings as a backup camera but I know which camera will take the shots ;) Thank you B&H For the awesome fast shipping and a great price, as always.

Cannot auto focus correctly
I upgraded from a 5DM3 which I loved, but I wanted some of the new features as well as more megapixels. What a dissapointent! This camera with either 24-105 F4 IS II version and 70-200 F4 IS cannot focus correctly. I have returned it to Canon for repair twice and it still will not work. I am frustrated as I have been a Canon owner for 40 years. I have sent my pictures in to Canon tech service and they agree that they are not in focus, but when I send the camera and lenses back to their repair shop they say that there isn't anything wrong. Do I go to Nikon or Sony????

Nice Camera
I don't like sharing this, but I had to ship back 2 5d Mark IV because the images were soft and muddy without any detail. Very strange, but B&H took great care of me and shipped me another one and this one is fantastic. The images are sharp. The used a 35mm 1.4 version II and the images were amazing. Love the touch screen and the new button on the back that I programmed to change the ISO. :) If you have the Canon 5D Mark 3 and budget is tight I wouldn't upgrade because the 5D Mark 3 is still an awesome camera. Honestly the biggest chance I notice is the touch screen.

Love at first touch
I purchased this camera because I am a videographer and the auto focus feature was much needed. Being able to go in and out of focus without touching my lens was HUGE. Also no more accidentally going to adjust when in AF, which I did all the time. I am upgrading from the Mark ii so the photo quality is very noticeable but video quality upgrade is huge. I am loving it so far. Also LOVE the wifi feature. I didn't have that before and my goodness its insane. I love that I can upload an image right away and post. Honestly there is a ton of loves with this camera for me.

GREAT CAMERA!!!
AS A BIRD & WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER, I USE TWO CAMERAS: THE CANON EOS 7D MARK II AND THE EOS 5D MARK IV WHICH I BOUGHT TO REPLACE THE EOS 5D MARK III. THE 5D MARK III IS AN EXCELLENT CAMERA, BUT I THINK THAT THE 5D MARK IV IS BETTER SUITED FOR BIRD & WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY: FASTER CONTINUOUS SHOOTING, 30MP IMAGE, BETTER FOCUSING SYSTEM, POSSIBILITY TO ADJUST EXPOSURE IN MANUAL MODE, MOST CONTROLS AND FEATURES ARE VERY SIMILAR TO THOSE OF THE 7D MARK II. THE NEGATIVE POINTS: CONTINUOUS SHOOTING COULD HAVE BEEN EVEN FASTER - 9 TO 10 FRAMES/SEC, AND IT IS A BIT EXPENSIVE!

Better than expectations . . .
I'm an amateur wildlife photographer and like to buy at the end of a model cycle. I have a 5DIII and 7DII for comparison and Canon did what I hoped they would do. This is a serious upgrade from the 5DIII in resolution and focus tracking (immediately apparent). It's sort of an upgraded cross between the 7DII and 5DIII with a slightly slower frame rate than the 7DII. It also works great with extenders (Canon 100-400 and Sigma 150-600 Sport). I would highly recommend this camera as it has the familiar Canon controls, legendary durability and the prices have come down.

Love this new version of legendary Canon 5D
Very nice upgrade. I love the touch screen a lot. It is very responsive and make operation of the camera much easier than older version. Now at the live view, you can also touch the screen to focus at specific spot, regardless the limitation of focusing points through view finder. It is a very welcomed feature. These alone worth the upgrade. Wi-Fi function is very convenient too. You can transfer photos to your phone fast and with ease. I haven't tried GPS or 4K video yet but am also excited about those. Overall, a very nice upgrade from 5d3. Highly recommended.

Stop worrying about mirror less
I bought this camera about a week ago and I couldn't be happier. I still use my 7D Mark II, but I wanted a full frame camera and since I am a Canon shooter, I chose the 5D Mark IV. The image quality is great, the dynamic range is crazy, and the speed is also excellent. I am not concerned about the mirror less line-up Canon is coming out with because I am quite content with both of my cameras. I am not sure what all the hype about mirror less is all about because Canon already has great image making devices now. BUY THIS CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Great so far!
I have had the 5D Mark IV for about a week, upgrading from a 6D. The AF is amazing, so much better than the 6D. I also think the metering is much better, much less a tendency to underexpose compared to the 6D. The negatives I have noted so far is that still believe Canon's Wifi implementation could be much more straightforward and it also appears that battery life is significantly diminished, though that might be function of my playing with the settings more than normal to learn the camera's functions. Attached is a SOOC Jpeg with the 24-105 f4 Ver. I lens.

Some great features, some not so great
I have used the camera for a month and here are my impressions. I only shoot interiors, so keep that in mind. 1. Dynamic Range: Much better than the 5Dsr but still significantly less than the Sony A7RII. 2. The crop factor on 4K is no good and not having 4K via HDMI makes it unusable. 3. Dual Pixel Raw: Forget about it. 4. Manual focus: The camera is built for auto focus. Since I shoot with tilt shift lenses, I can only use it with the CamRanger, which does a great job with manual focus. 5. Image Quality: REALLY GOOD! It produces beautiful, natural colors!
