Sirui L-10 Monopod Tilt Head

MPN's:
L10 vs. L20
This head is beautiful. It is almost jewel-like; it is smooth as silk. I havent tested it with my DSLR and Sigma 100-400 lens, but I have no doubt that it will easily hold three times the weight of this rig. I bought it for use with my monopod for steadying telephoto shots. I use a long lens support, which follows the axis of the lens and the clamp, that is, front-to-back not side-to-side. It works perfectly for that; see my photo 1. A telep... Show More

Solid, easy adjustments and secure
This is a great tilt head for a monopod application. I put my 6D+100-400+2x or just the bare lens on it for use in Yellowstone. It worked very well and gave me all of the adjustments and stability I needed for good shots. The only notable comments I have are: The arca clamp portion on top IS adjustable to be rotated. You'll need an allen wrench of the proper size (I don't recall the exact size). This is contrary to what some have reviewed or what... Show More

Great for long lenses BUT.... not camera plates.
High quality fit and finish; works beautifully on the p-326 CF Monopod; BUT.... if you think you can loosen the center bolt and turn the arca clamp 90 degrees to accommodate a camera plate, think again. First, you will very probably not be able to loosen the center bolt; permanent thread lock will cause the hex head to strip before it comes loose. So you, like I, will have to drill out the head and vice grip the stub out of there. Then you will f... Show More

beautifully engineered, solid
You know how some pieces of gear are so well manufactured that it just feels good to handle and use them? For me, this monopod head is like that. I had only used cheaper monopods before, but after my last one broke I upgraded to the Sirui setup. I never imagined a monopod designed and manufactured in China could have this kind of quality, especially at this price. It feels like something Sachtler would produce. All the important parts are metal, ... Show More

Excellent monopod head
This is a great monopod head. The only reason it doesn't get 5-stars is that it does not include a 3/8 to 1/4 bushing to adapt it to 1/4 thread monopods. The bushing is available from B&H or your local camera shop for less than $2.00, so it is easily addressed. It just would have been nice to include. I particularly liked their Arca-Swiss plate system. The clamp opens quite far and tightens down snugly to accommodate a variety of Arca-type plates... Show More

Use this on top of a Sirui P-324 Carbon Fiber Monopod to support a D500 with 200500 mm lens, 8 lbs of gear. Both the tilt head and monopod have a 22 lbs. load capacity. Included is a Quick-Release Base plate to attach to lens or camera mount. Note: the Quick-Release Base clamp on the tilt head can be loosened/widened to the point that it is wider than the attachment plate. Generally not an issue, just be ware. High Build Quality Copy of RRS Design
Having owned both the Sirui and RRS monopod heads, the L10 is close in quality to the American original for less than half the price. However the top platform is not rotatable so you really only use this for telephoto lens plates that are parallel to the length of the lens. Also it has an early Japanese car design aesthetic that is a bit cruder than the products from more mature companies. The edges are cut a little harsher and there is a strange... Show More

Best Tilt Head for The Money
I use a Sirui P326 carbon fiber monopod which is a great light weight monopod. I originally tried an older discontinued Manfrotto 234 tilt head with either a ProMedia or Wimberley arca swiss plate attached. Both are very good plates but after a while they would swivel on the tilt head from the weight of my Canon 5D3 and 300 F4 L lens. The Sirui L-10 tilt head is rock solid and accepts my Wimberly lens foot plate. People say its a Really Right Stuff knockoff at a much lower price. I should of just ordered this head from the start. Well worth the money.

Worth the price
I use this with a Nikon D500 and Sigma 150-600mm. Lens and camera probably around 8 lbs. I was concerned that it would be too small but I am able to balance the camera/lens and it works well. The one complaint is that for some reason they put both knobs on the same side and that can be a nuisance. I thought I could just unscrew the plate and turn it around so it was on the other side but the screw was so tight I was afraid I would damage it if I really went for it. I have no problem suggesting you buy it.

So close
I bought this tilt head because I wanted a nice arca styled tilt head for my monopod. I did this mainly to get shots from above using my monopod and a wide angle. I use a few black rapid arca plates in my kit and found that the 50mm plate doesn't fit well. The bolts that protrude from the base to prevent the plate from sliding off the mount interfere with this tilt head because of the lack of clearance cutouts. The 70mm plate works fine and the arca clip on the peak design clutch all work well though.

Very good tilt head
I bought this to use with my Sony RX100M2 and I'm extremely happy with it. Attaching the RX100 to the top plate of the monopod prevented the control ring from turning: the Sirui L-10 solves that problem and provides the tilt range of motion for much greater flexibility. The Sirui L-10 moves smoothly and every button, knob, and part feels very well-constructed. The Sirui L-10 is more expensive than some available heads; some cost 1/3 of the Sirui L-10 price (or less).

Excellent quality
This head is a pleasure to use. The knobs lock tightly and it is well constructed. My lens has an Arca-Swiss foot so I don't use the plate. It also looks like you can turn the mount so it orients correctly for use on a camera body. I did notice that the head can loosen from the monopod mounting screw if I do a lot of horizontal rotating with the weight of my camera/lens combination. Some sort of set screw on the base plate would have helped to prevent that.

Great monopod head!
Like others have mentioned, this head is intended to support a camera and lens by the lens foot, not the camera! It allows easy panning while being able to tilt a little when needed. Works much better than a ball head for this type of shooting (ie motorsports). I have used this with Nikon 200-400, 300/2.8, 70-200/2.8 and a Sigma 150-600 Sport. It's well made, smooth, and overall a lot nicer than I expected. Very happy with it.

Lower cost alternative
Bought to replace old small ball head I was using on top of my monopod. Looked at Kirk and RRS, but both too spendy for my needs and a bit too big. As some have noted, the clamp doesn't pivot 90 degrees, but this doesn't bother me as I use it for long lens work only. If I need stability for short lens work and want to use the camera plate, well then it's time to do it right with a tripod (at least for my work).

The AwesoL-10 Monopod Tilt Head by Sirui
This tilt head works great on my monopod and Nikon D7000 w/Battery Grip and 80-200 f2.8 steal lens. The L-10 balances and holds the weight with no problem. It tilts nice and smoothly as I had hoped. And the price is far better than many of the other brands. No complaints about this tilt head. I definitely recommend this product as a result of its awesome quality, price, and ability to hold weight.

L-10 Monopod head failed design
Equals the quality of the RRS item which it knocks off for half the price. However, it does not allow the clamp plate to adjust ninety degrees like the RRS, and the one position given is the wrong one relative to a DSLR's orientation. This flaw is fatal- the head is unusable as configured. Interesting for its price/quality, but useless in application so I sent it back...

Good but not perfect
Very well made, sturdy and a good value. However, the plate can not be rotated 90 degrees as I was hoping. Therefore, it can't be used with a L-bracket and the plate does not use the normal orientation that most photographers prefer. The top section looks like it could be rotated but it is attached permanently using some kind of locking compound.

Perfect Monopod addition
I have this Tilt Head attached to my Manfrotto 680B Monopod. This addition makes for much greater utility of the monopod by allowing for tilting of the camera while still keeping the monopod itself in a steadier vertical position. The quality of the fit and finish of the tilt head is superlative just like other Sirui products. Highly recommended!

Nice monopod head
I use this monopod head with a Feisol carbon fiber monopod, Nikon D7000 and 80-200mm f2.8 af-s. It handle the weight without a problem. It works smoothly and will hold the camera/lens even when not tightened all the way down. I like the safety release button enabling a plate to slide out quickly without having to completely loosen the clamp

A great value
This tilt head is well made and works as designed, plus. I trust it will be durable as well. I use it with a both monopod and clip it on a tripod with a panning ball head to get a similar capability as a gimbal head, for long lenses shooting. This tilt head has added a lot of added functionality for a very affordable price.

Nice compact head for monopod
L-10 mounted on my Sirui P-326S monopod and used with DLSR and several lenses including 150-500mm. Adjustment knobs operate smoothly. Being on a monopod I didn't need a ball head. The monopod with L-10 attached packs well in my travel luggage. The L-10 comes with a quick attachment for the camera which is a plus feature.

Definitely a recommended buy
Used only with my p424 monopod. That being the case panning feature not really needed with a monopod. In addition the the 33+ lb wieght is more than enough for my 5d mark 111 and signa 150-600 with 1.4 teleconverter is more than enough. Therefore considering price and quality i think this is the best for the money

Perfect!
This Ballhead is really smooth to move and is solidly built. I was looking at a Kirk brand and wavered back and forth, but decided on the Sirui because of the price. I don't think you can go wrong. I used it with my big sig and it was solid ( considering it was on a monopod anway!). Can't go wrong, just buy it!
