If you have a Yamaha Tyros4, MOTIF XF, or MOXF keyboard and don't have one of these, you're missing half the value of your keyboard -- expandability. I have a MOXF, so can only use one board and had to pick between the 512M and the 1G size. I thought I'd never use more than 512M in one set, so I'd save a little bit by doing some reloading between sets. Unfortunately, to completely format and reload the 512M board takes about an hour! Still, 512M ... Show Moreholds a lot of sound and I doubt if I'll ever need more. I completely don't understand by we're dealing with memory measured in megs instead of gigs or why these seem to cost about 1000x too much. By now, you should be able to remove a plate on the back of the keyboard and slide an SSD into place. Oh well, get over it and buy the board. I don't know what magic Yamaha works on their sounds, but you can pack enough sound into 512MB to make you very happy with your purchase. The free downloads from Yamaha immediately provide your value back for your money. It's unclear from Yamaha's manuals, but while the downloads are provided as all files, you can still pick and choose which voices/waveforms you load into your board to save space.Show Less
