The future of gaming and VR

Jun 7, 2019

The Oculus Quest is the first really compelling VR system. I own the PSVR, and while it’s more powerful graphically, this system is far superior as far as usability and enjoyability, purely based on its portable nature. It’s more than powerful enough to play a large range of excellent games. You can take it anywhere. The execution is near perfect. I’m really happy with it and would definitely recommend. I think this is going to be the first VR set to truly take off. Shame it’s owned by Facebook.

Amazing graphics and easy to set up

Dec 30, 2019

My 14 and 12 year olds were thrilled by this joint present. It was really quick and easy to set up (came 47% charged) and straight into downloading the ‘free’ game which came with the bundle. The app means you can live stream to the phone so people can watch what you see but I need to buy chromecast to stream to the tv which I wasn’t aware of. It really is like stepping into another room and the graphics are great. Looking forward to seeing what other VR experiences are on offer beyond the games

Makes me feel young again!

Jan 8, 2020

As soon as I tried a friends I was hooked. Amazing 360 views, so much you can do with it. Go to different countries, play games, keep kit with loads of various activities. I absolutely love it and it’s not just for the young it’s for the young at heart too. The visuals are astounding you can watch films meet up with other networkers should you choose. This has motivated me to keep kit learn Tai Chi, with the Oculus apps. I feel a different person and yes I feel younger now. My Mum loves it too!

Talking VR to the next level

Aug 23, 2019

I had the opportunity to give it a try and found the experience to be amazing. In essence the VR headset runs the same gubbins as a mobile phone, but clearly Oculus has spent a lot of time ensuring this would give a full VR experience and it does. Completely Wireless and a choice lot of different games/apps allow for a very customisable experience regardless of your tastes. Get it. You’ll let love it. Don’t expect Oculus Rift/ HTC Vive levels of detail, but what it does is more than enough .

Outstanding!!!

Sep 12, 2019

The best thing I can say about the Oculus Quest is that literally within 5mins of using it I wished I had bitten the bullet and got it sooner. I debated getting one for months because of the price, if I had been able to try it out I would have bought one there & then. The library of games is in its infancy, but the ones that are there are brilliantly immersive with excellent performance, narrative and above all great fun! This device is outstanding and is definitely the future of entertainment!!

Wire free VR Fun

Jun 7, 2019

This is finally a piece of kit which allows you to literally pick up and play in VR with freedom of movement with ease without cables! Setup is simple via your smartphone, the tutorials are quick and fun. The headset is comfortable and doesn't feel heavy. You're immersed in a clear virtual world effortlessly and so far the usable spaces are quite flexible, even the sound is great for a headset. The guardian you set up tries to assist you in not destroying your home which can come in handy!

Oculus quest.. Almost mind blowing

Feb 13, 2020

I had already tried the oculus at a relatives house, and was pretty impressed.Even though it is pricey, I was for getting one... When I got home and switched it on and went through tutorials I was just about blown away. Has some free games/apps which are decent and keep you occupied for a while, but to really enjoy its best your forking out anything between 8 & 22 quid, for games and apps. And like anything else it loses a bit of its appeal after time.defo recommend try before you buy with this

VR of the future

Jan 6, 2020

Great gaming VR headset. Big improvement when compared to the PS VR, with improved graphics, no tethering and no need to insert discs all sing big plus points. Easy to setup via mobile phone app, had it running within 15 minutes. Games are reasonably priced. Only 2 downsides so far: after about an hour or so gaming, the headset starts to dig into your face, so probably good time for a break. Battery life is okay, but all too soon you find yourself recharging (you can play plugged in). Buy it!

Incredible experience

Jun 9, 2019

As someone who has been using VR headset including owning roomscale PCVR, I can safely say this is the best overall VR experience on the market today. Being a standalone device with no external sensors or cable required is incredible. The quality of the optics and screen more than make up for any downgrade in graphics. Having purchased this one launch day I have used it every day in the ~2 weeks since. I believe I have already spent more time in this than I ever have in my Oculus Rift.

VR for everyone has arrived

Jul 12, 2019

The Oculus Quest marks an important milestone for VR - it's so simple and easy to use yet offers a huge breadth of different experiences for young and old alike. Our whole family is completely addicted to it. Graphics are sharp and pleasing, the user interface is friendly and welcoming, and the games/apps are well-curated and some are breathtaking. The Quest has often been called the 'Nintendo Switch of VR' and it really has earned it. Completely and utterly recommended for the whole family.

The quest a man can get.

Oct 24, 2019

As a previous PC VR owner I was slightly skeptical of this, however I have been blown away by it. Having no cables is something I never thought I needed. The headset itself is a great improvement visually with a 1440 x 1600 display per eye although those who have owned headsets that use 90hz screens may notice the difference initially with the Quest itself running at 72hz. Its interface is very user friendly and the initial tutorial pretty much gets you going, controller tracking is superb.

Brilliant experience from the minute the box opens

Jul 27, 2019

I work developing VR applications and to me this is the first largely consumable VR hardware. Virtually everyone can easily set this up and get going straight away without any more technical knowledge than installing an app. 6 degrees of freedom on both controllers and headset means that everything feels natural, and for anyone having used the Oculus Go will be able to attest to the freedom of being unteathered to a PC but with the Quest you get a massive leap in performance and usability.

Brilliant idea. Could use more games

Jun 7, 2019

Fantastic piece of kit. Truly surprising how emersive it is. Can get a little bit heavy after wearing it for an hour or so. Only thing I would say that could do with improvement would be having more games to play and choose from. If this product gets the backing it deserves and they develop more games it would be 10/10. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it especially if you have kids. Be prepared to have them fight over it though or buy them one each problem solved :)

Awesome

Jan 9, 2020

It actually feels better to use than my HTC vive, Tracking is on point (Easy to set up), controllers are a little small, but very nice to use and buttons are placed nicely. Device is a little on the heavy side, so definitley watch a youtube video or two on how to properly adjust it to be comfortable. Good for parties. Recommended games to pair with this would be Beatsaber and Super Hot VR. May also be a good idea to get some Rechargeable AA batteries to keep the controllers going!

Next best thing to a PC VR headset

Jan 17, 2020

Bought the Oculus quest for my child's Christmas and they absolutely love it. Firstly, if you're thinking that you've experienced VR by using a mobile viewer then you're mistaken. I've wanted a VR headset for a few years and was extremely torn between the PS VR and the Oculus quest as I don't have a powerful PC. After a bit of research, I decided to buy the Oculus quest and am not disappointed at all. The set up was extremely easy and within a few minutes I was in and it blew my mind.

VR fun (no wires required!)

Jun 7, 2019

If you want a way to get into VR, the Oculus Quest is a great experience. Having tried other VR headsets requiring expensive PC’s and complicated setups involving wires, Oculus Quest eliminates all this. You simply put the headset on (as easy as putting on a baseball cap) and you are ready to step into a virtual world. Moving around freely with no wires holding you back makes the world of difference. I can highly recommended the Oculus Quest as a great way to enjoy virtual reality.

VR with freedom

Jul 13, 2019

Oculus are on to a winner here. I was skeptical at first, but the inside-out tracking from the headset is v. accurate. I've had 0 tracking problems with beat saber. Obviously there's compromise with a low power device, but good game design solves this. Impressed with the ease of setup of the guardian system - you paint your safe space on the floor around you using the headset cameras. Games on the Oculus Store are a bit pricey, but look at SideQuest for some free/beta software.

Oculus Quest. My first VR.

Feb 13, 2020

Decided after thinking about it for a while to have a go at one of these. I'm not a gamer. Never have been really. I own other entertainment options that I've not spent as much time on in the last year as I have spent on this in the last 2 weeks. It's a great piece of kit. I would advise anyone to have a look at videos online to see if you'll enjoy how things look. It isn't for everyone as motion sickness has been known to happen however that will depend on the choice of game.

Better than I’d expected but ...

Jan 10, 2020

I debated buying this for a long time. I’d considered the PSVR previously but didn’t like the idea of being wired in all the time. The Quest manages to deliver a high quality VR experience without the wires. I’ve purchased a few games all of which have been good the but is there is a limited number of games currently and very few free or demos so you have to commit to paying for a full price game which may or may not be any good. I’m hoping this changes in the future

Brilliant VR

Jan 9, 2020

Brought this for my 13year old for xmas, I was a little hesitant due to be it being wireless and thought it would be half the quality of a pc connected version. I was proven very wrong, its brilliant my son loves it, the oculus store has lots of games to choose from. The accuracy of sensors is excellent, a massive improvement on his ps4 VR headset & move controllers that constantly lost tracking. For a wireless setup it's certainly packs a punch and I highly recommend it.

Amazing piece of technology

Jan 18, 2020

This is my first time using a VR headset, I was surprised just how good it is. Easy setup and amazing fun for all. I would suggest getting a More comfortable VR facial cover as the one supplied becomes difficult to wear after an hour or so of use each time. And if you have a Pc using a link cable makes it even better. You wont regret buying this and there are plenty of games for it. Only thing is the 64gb version would be more than sufficient to load several games at one time

Occulas quest vr, great but 1issue

Oct 22, 2019

Great immersive piece of kit. Easy to use and set up, very addictive and games at reasonable prices. Love it. One major issue though! The charging cable is faulty, leaves a coating of plastic on the prongs, unable to charge correctly. I messaged manufacturers and am still waiting for a reply. Looked at other reviews and it seems to be a common problem. I immediately ordered another cable (different make but good quality) from amazon that works perfectly so no more issues.

Absolutely amazing!

Sep 17, 2019

I've been following VR professionally and as a hobby for many years. I've seen it come into and out of fashion, always waiting for the signal that it's coming into its time. This is it! Untethered, faultless tracking, great software, intuitive, total immersive addiction. I can't get enough, there's not too much to explore yet, it's early days, but still plenty, and what there is, is awesome. If you've been thinking about trying VR but not sure, go for it, this is awesome!
