Ultrasone PRO-780i

Great for TV and Movie watching

The Ultrasone Pro 780i's have a slight emphasis to treble and bass, with forward mids. The overall sound signature along with a large 3D like soundstage lends itself best to TV and Movie watching, but leaves a bit to be desired for listening to music. A quick breakdown is: - Large Soundstage that is almost 3D sounding in depth and height. - Bass is emphasized, mainly in the mid bass region. It's not super emphasized like the Performance 84... Show More0's or HFI-580's, but is just minorly bumped up from a neutral sound. - Highs are almost sharp, but not uncomfortable. - Mids are more forward than expected. The mids aren't as strong as the bass or treble, but they are not recessed. - The headphones sound a bit 'canny' in music, and there is a fair amount of bass reverberation due to lack of damping in the cups. - Detail is lacking a bit due to the damping issue, but is still decent for the price point. - Comfort is okay, only due to strong clamping. - Quality is great; solid build. Overall these are decent music headphones for the price, and absolutely great headphones for watching TV or movies.Show Less
