Top quality headset.

Mar 3, 2016

You may be paying top money for these but you definitely get what you pay for! Full 7.1 Dolby surround sound means that you pick up on sounds which you didn't even know existed when playing through the tv! Microphone works well and the wireless connections means no more wires. Love that I can connect other devices and it works well. Only issue is a bit of discomfort after prolonged usage. Highly recommended for any serious gamer or anyone who wants better quality sound from their equipment :)

Has flaws but good solid product

Sep 18, 2019

Too many button commands on the side panels, and the panels themselves are too sensitive to input you can adjust it and accidentally mute yourself or enable Bluetooth. Comfortable to wear for long periods and the noise cancelling is really good. Battery life for moderate to intensive gaming is good and charges quick. The only downside i can notice is since buying it I’m getting interference playing RDR2. Turning on/off and enabling Bluetooth seems to fix but its irritating to listen to.

Having used many headphones over the years, I decided to shell out and purchase these wireless Turtle Beaches for my XBO. While they work (sometimes), I would have been just as happy with something a third of the price. My friends often say they can't hear me properly, there is too much white noise in the back ground and pairing them to the base unit can be troublesome. While I would recommend this product, I'd also say save some money and buy some cheaper, wired headphones.

When working, was great, but intermittent

Mar 4, 2019

When this worked it was excellent. But unfortunately when using during the first min of use it will cut out twice in quick succession (no sound at all) for a few seconds. Then once or twice every couple of minutes after that. Thought it may be interference so tried all the troubleshooting/firmware/updates. Nothing worked. So took it back for a wired pair of turtle beach elites also from Argos. Which are perfect, just wired, and they work on everything not just Xbox like the 800X.

Terrible microphone, unbearable pressure on ears

Nov 20, 2018

The microphone on these apparently makes me sound like I’m talking through a tube when in an Xbox live party (the only use I had for these). Looking online it seems this is a known issue and has been for a couple of years with no fix. Additionally, these put immense pressure on my ears, leading to severe ear pain that lasted a few days.. These issues wouldn’t effect the score quite so much if the headset was half the price, but this money I’d expect much better. Returned.

Good headset, but microphone poor

Apr 12, 2019

Bought this headset to replace a XP400 set that had died. Sound quality is very good, and connectivity is excellent, however the in built microphone is rubbish, makes my voice sound muffled. Battery life is also not as good, only giving about 7 hours if Bluetooth is in use alongside gaming sound ( I chat on Skype via Bluetooth while gaming). If this headset had the removable boom microphone like the XP 400, I would have rated it 5 stars all round.

One of the unlucky ones

Feb 13, 2018

Seems like your either lucky or not with these. They feel great and look great but I was one of the ones who had constant drop outs I wonder if it’s related to another product causing interference but I wasn’t bothere to keep them long enough to find out. I have no desire to turn off all the other items I hold to make them work. If your one of the lucky ones I’m sure they are awesome but thankfully Argos took them back without a query.

Good Headset.

Feb 27, 2018

I accidentally broke my 500X headset, so upgraded to the 800X. I’m not disappointed. But the mic does cut out from time to time for a second. An with upto 200 internet speeds, I assume it’s the headset. But can’t reallt fault the headset from a gamers side. Few friends said my voice is a little quiet as the mic isn’t adjustable. But it’s a mic that’s worth it’s money. Especially when it’s RRP is £250 elsewhere.

Excelent sound, complex software

Jun 28, 2018

I really like these headphones, the sound is excelent but I don't like the software for iOS because it's ot working. Sometimes there's a weird noise when I connect to Xbox but it goes off when I start playing. No issues when connecting to Bluetooth whatever. Great for listening to music because mics are hidden and battery lasts quite long (I usually recharge it after each sesh). 9/10 Would recommend for console players and music fans

Great for more than just gaming.

May 23, 2019

The earphones grip your head firmly, but they do become more comfortable after a few days use. They are great for gaming and I use them with my Xbox one. Easily hear footsteps and whether the other person is behind me, in front of me, or coming from the side. I also use them to watch tv and Netflix films in the bedroom at night, and they do a great job. Not as good as my Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 system obviously. But I am pleased with them.

Could be better.

Sep 25, 2018

Sound quality is great when they work, but to loud they go distorted. Wireless connection is good but I found it loses signal often for a second. I'm on my second set and even the second set do the same and the Bluetooth has stopped working on my s8 plus, now the headset can not be found. Best getting a wired headset or a better pair as I've had the same problem on two lots only it's the Bluetooth on the second set.

Love it. Long battery. Easy to use.

Oct 31, 2018

Comfortable. Battery lasts ages. Goes on stand well. Love how connects to phone. Voice monitoring is gd. All controlled nicly thru the phone. Once learnt where buttons are on the headset there easy to use as well. Sound quality in all honesty is a good as any cheaper standered pair of 7.1 however the wireless function and it having the option to put my phones calls thru to it whilist gaming is awsome.

Advantages -Sound Categories: So many different sound options. -100% Wireless. No additional mic for voice chat needed. -Nice Design. Disadvantages -Sound Quality. Slightly less clear as Astros, but that's because the sound is split into more parts due to the additional options. -Leather. (Not as comfortable as fabric like Astros...but more grip + wireless.) 8/10.

Headset is great

Mar 7, 2018

This is one of the best headsets I’ve bought and after using these for hours on end they are extremely comfortable and seen an improvement in my game as playing games due to the sensitivity and the ability to pick up certain sounds, the quality of the sound is incredible only fallback is the built in mic, it does sound a lot different to the usual headsets out there

Looks the part

Sep 17, 2019

Looks nice sounds good but unfortunately the sound would cut out, it gets very frustrating when talking and playing online. After about 30 minutes of playing the headband would start to dig into your head due to there being a small plastic ridge next to the sponge. Had to take them back and get another make (rig 800lx). RIP turtle beach.

Very good Headset

Feb 7, 2018

It was Turtle beach elite 800x or Astro A50 wireless, but I went for the Turtle beach. Turtle beach had the edge for me over the Astro A50 due to connectivity, especially bluetoooth, the quality of the mic is better considering what you pay for the Astro's I feel you get more bang for your buck with these turtle beach elite 800x.

Very good sound quality although dont recommend the cheap fibre cable you get with it as always makes crackling noises so have purchased one of amazon a lot better quality and the built in mic isn't great as friends online say I sound muffled all the time when I talk other than that great headset

These earphones are great. the sound quality is sensational. The only issue is in setting them up. It's a bit tricky, but as soon a you're used to how they work, all is great. So if you buy them, be prepared for an hour or two understanding how they work! After that, everything works well.

The best gaming headset for the Xbox one by far. And Argos selling it cheaper than many other retailers just made the purchase 100% more viable. Would recommend this to anyone if you have the budget to purchase it.
