Amazing sound quality for an amaing price

Jul 27, 2014

If you search a professional studio headphone and you don't want to pay very much, this one is the one of your choice. The Superlux HD-668 B has got an amazing good sound quality. The basses are clear, the highs are good to hear and the mids sound like mids should sound. The sound is also very spatial. The packet includes two different length cables. This includes the fact, that the cable is replaceable and i never had problems with accidenta... Show More

Very good value for the price

Sep 8, 2014

Build quality and sound-wise I have absolutely no regrets picking these headphones up. If I had to be hard on something, the default pads are a bit hard on my eyeglasses, but that is hardly a big thing considering it doesn't generally lead to tiredness or pain - even during very long (eight hours plus) working sessions. On the rare occasion there is pain after a very long session, it most often is actually due improper placement because of one ... Show More

Had to buy different earphones after 6 months

Mar 17, 2016

I bought these for use as a gaming headset. Overall, for the money they are perfectly adequate. Sound quality is fine, not too heavy, build quality is fine. My issue is that they are very very tight. I don't have a particularly big head (I take a size small in motorcycle helmet). They are fine for an hour or so but any longer than that and they become very uncomfortable. I've tried to stretch the headband out by leaving it on the back of the... Show More

Superlux HD-668 B - Used for home Mastering

Nov 18, 2013

Excellent for the price. They do the job I wanted them for - home mastering. The one thing to watch out for is that the two wire bands across the top of your head can be free to vibrate depending on how you are wearing the headphones. And the wire bands on my pair resonate about 10 cents flat of the note F5 right in the mid range. The resonance is so strong and consistant that if I tap the wire band I can measure the noter created it with a clip ... Show More

Often used for sound design

Nov 4, 2014

Great headphones. extremely comfortable and can be worn all day. I usually struggle using headphones down to them not being very comfortable to wear. I do sports sound design as Jetta Lazza and often need to use headphones when working in small spaces. I always pick these over my more expensive headphones as they sound true and are comfy to wear. The short cable is the perfect length when working at a computer. So there is no excess cab... Show More

Amazing Headphones

May 30, 2014

These headphones come with a pouch and two cables, 1m and 3m. I do not have any other headphones to compare with, but in my opinion these are really good. They are very robust, I often dropped them on the floor, but nothing happened. The sound is very balanced but not too neutral. Great for mixing, monitoring or symply just listening music. The only weak point is the comfort. But in combination with the AKG K240 velour pads ( they fit perfectly) the Superlux HD-668 B are very comfortable to wear. Very robust, well sounding headphones with a very good value for money.

Excellent headphones for the price

Dec 6, 2018

Ordered these headphones along with the AKG velour pads. The pads that come with it are not very comfortable, and tend to get sweaty as most pleather pads. I also have a Beyerdynamic DT 770, and the sound is not as transparent, but still very enjoyable. It it slightly more colored and therefore possibly more enjoyable as 'listening' headphones. Build quality is not great, the headphones are not meant for transportation. After several months of use, the small cable extension broke and I had to solder a new cable. Still, great headphones for the price, would buy again.

A must buy! ...but don't forget.

Nov 19, 2015

Great sound! Cheap! Great comfort, but... Since the treble can be a bit to harsh sometimes. I would highly suggest changing to some velourpads instead, since the bass element gets a little bit to covered with the stock. This will also improve the comfort quite a bit! For someone who has the trouble with breaking their cables often, getting stuck in things, this changeable design is really a winner on the market. Have been using them for mixing for a while now. If I'd had a studio, this definately would be my "SM58 of headphones".

Crazy value.

Feb 3, 2016

Currently costs only 29 euros, that's even less than the amazon price. And I'm telling you, for 29 euros you can not get a better headphone, NEVER. Pros: -Lightweight. -Neutral lows and mids (slightly strong highs). -The goddamn price man! Cons: -Build quality feels a bit cheap but I wouldn't expect more for the price. -A bit of clamping force -Cheap pleather earpads I easily recommend getting the HD 681 velour pads alongside the purchase of this product (earpads cost only 8~euros) Overall satisfied with my purchase.

Mar 12, 2017

Overall great sound , i use them as FPS games headset and with a little bit of EQ tweaking they are awesome , Great soundstage in music, overal great value for money and they are not that expensive either Great travell pouch , great extension cord one minus though the plastic that covers the metal arch for the head cushions , started tearing apart in various places, not really an issue but aesthetically bad.... not good for the headsets appearance !! Great service by thomann ! Fast delivery and great packaging !!!

What did you expect for what it cost

Dec 29, 2018

To be very honest, I have been working in loads of differents studios with different equipments. I adquired this item because I really needed urgently some headphones for a recording job. I wasn't looking for something fancy, but this headphones actually shock me out. They work and sound quite well for the price. I have recorded 3 or 4 people with them, and I had no complains. If you looking for a pair of headphones for your home studio, or just to have a different sound reference for a nice price: This headphones are what you are looking for.

Great inexpensive headphones for home studio.

Feb 17, 2017

Very detailed and analytical sound. Prominent treble, these headphones are a bit on the bright side. Gradual low end rolloff gives it a flat (in a good way) and deep bass. Useful for "microscope" applications during tracking/editing/early mixing. Not so great for overall balance evaluation during late mixing/mastering. Not so great for listening to music. The high end can get a bit harsh sometimes. Overall, great value for the price and definitely usable for certain applications.

Quite a Surprise

Oct 6, 2016

So basically i didnt buy these they were given to me as part of a bundle offer when i bought my ms-20, however after using them (with an audio interface) i have to say i was very impressed with the quality of the low and high end. The only con is the cables sturdiness, it doesnt hold as good as you'd expect however (cable is removable) also they are shipped with an extra long removable cable !! again for the price you really cant go wrong with the quality given.

These work!

If you're looking for some clean, flat headphones to do some referencing while mixing and you don't wanna spend 80¤ or more, I think these are a great purchase. Not a huge investment, but not cheap enough that you'll doubt their build. Great frequency response across the board with surprisingly clear lows and not too harsh highs. I've been using these for mixing and to listen to music for over a year now, and I love them!

Good headphones

Sep 10, 2015

Highs are quite bright in these headphones, definitely not a close to flat frequency response. They're seriously lacking in sub bass frequencies for mixing/producing dance music. I find they fatigue the ears too a fair amount, they're a comfortable design though, they sit on the head nicely. I'd probably reccomend people to splash out a bit more cash and get a higher quality pair of headphones.

Good headphones but uncomfortable

May 23, 2016

Despite having an identical build construction to the HD-669s, these headphones sit quite loose. This is unfortunate because the ear cups end up hanging off of ones ears and after an extended period of time this becomes very uncomfortable. The sound quality is very good across multiple genres of music. They have a good amount of bass without sacrificing in other departments.

Great for the price

Jan 9, 2016

For the price these headphones are excellent, so if you're on the lookout for some cheap quality phones, these would be a great choice. The sound is good, the cable is detachable and the build seems sturdy enough. However, they are seriously big and uncomfortable. Wearing them for an hour is quite tiring and carrying them around the neck is very inconvenient due to the size.

Very satisfied with the sound, good bass. They fit well enough to keep a lot of outside sound out. Keep forgetting I'm wearing them, no discomfort at all. Come with 2 cords, 1 long, 1 short. Easy to switch if one length wont do. Carrying bag too. Not pretty, but useful, nice touch. Very happy with these, recommended for djing and listening.

Fantastic sound with a low price tag.

Oct 8, 2015

This headset is everything it is touted as on the internet. Great build quality, great sound and very, very affordable. It supports generic AKG type pads (like those on the K-240), so you can put those lovely velour pads on (sku. 208718) if you wish! Clamping power is perfect for me. Very comfortable, does not cause me any fatigue, whatsoever.
