Excellent sound, especially considering the price.

May 30, 2014

These small headphones are really astonishing, the sound quality is amazing, the sounds stage take greatly advantage of the semi-open design and gives you a decent soundstage for in-ear headphones. The tonal balance is really good and details are present. Before these i also get tome AKG which were about 80? and which had great lack of detail, and were boomy like Dr Dre products, i sent them back. At the office i sometimes kept them after co... Great headphones for it's cost

Nov 14, 2013

Basically it's not the best headphones on the market, there are headphones that have better sound and there are headphones that have better quality and better comfort. These have been used by me and then these were so good compared to it's price my whole family bought a pair, 'cause that is what it is about - being good for it's price. The sound is absolutely fantastic, you can hear that it has similar sounds to the superlux 668 or 669 and bas... Show More

Decent on a budget

Dec 28, 2015

Lets face the cold hard facts here - these are not premium earphones, and they don't even pretend to be. Straight out of the box it becomes evident that their build quality is awful - the wire is thin and the plastic housing of the ear pods feels similar to the plastic carrier bags are made out of. Putting them in your ear is another painful experience - no matter what size of earbud I tried, none fit snugly, and all of them rubbed in an uncomfor... Show More

Another Hit From superlux.

Jan 5, 2014

This comment could easily get censored for bias toward Superlux ! I'll keep it short - unless you have spent more than £100 on IEMs before, these will knock your socks off. Punchy, accomplished sound across the frequency range - nothing overcooked or underdone. The separation, layering and breadth of the sound stage are quite dramatic. Put's a lot of the others to shame and you'll need a very, very good ear to find fault with the sound and i... Show More

A nice, cheap stand in.

Jul 12, 2015

I originally bought these to replace my lost Apple Earpods until I could afford something a little higher end. In the box is the earphones, an extra couple sets of tips (the preinstalled tips were fine for me) and a weird looking clip... didn't really figure out the use for that but the packaging was good enough for the quality of the earphones. This particular version of the 381's is the flat response version, and honestly I thought that's what ... Show More

Incredible for the money

Aug 15, 2014

I love head- and earphones and own a lot of them. After all the recommendations I had to try these tiny inexpensive in ear phones. And like their big brothers, the over-ear cans, they are just incredible. They have a lot of details, a clear bass that's not too boomy and quite a good stage. Compared to other in ears I know (like Sennheiser or Shure) they are on the same level regarding the sound. Build quality is okay... like other hi-fi-ear-phone... Show More

Great value for money!

Apr 28, 2017

I've owned the HD381F for over 4 years now, and despite recent leaps in the Chinese earphone market (e.g. KZ, Xiaomi, Chinese earphone thread on head-fi etc.), the HD381F remains one of my favourite low-cost earphones. I would say the sound signature is very balanced and natural, but the bass is more mid-bass oriented instead of sub-bass. The highs are not peaky like a lot of V-shaped earphones, and it isn't too smooth as well (my Noble K10U... Show More

Good sound quality, & good comfort

Mar 31, 2015

I am very pleased with the sound of the headphones. Sorry to disturb me a few things: The earphones cable is very short, so you have to use in each case the extension. To me it is unfortunately already happened a few times that the extension is disposed of. Furthermore, unfortunately, the membrane of the headphones has dissolved, so my headphones had to be replaced twice already. In normal use, probably a replacement must be found every few month... Great sound, poor durability.

Jun 4, 2017

I have to say that for a budget earphones, Superlux HD381 work miracles. I've personally been using them as a part of my in - ear monitoring system for vocals, and them do sound great and clear, with a natural vocal response. Unfortunately, after a year of semi - intensive use, one of the earphones stopped working correctly, distorting the sound and being noticeably quieter than the other one. I would definitely recommend them for the price, as I hope Thomann Warranty Service will replace my pair ASAP. If they don't, I'd recommend going with something more expensive / durable.

Mission accomplished!

May 23, 2018

I bought these to replace my over-ear headphones when mixing for many hours, cause after sometime of use, the over-ears bring me headache. I found that while they are not as good sounding as the over-ears (obviously), they are well balanced (instead of many other earphones in this price range that are full of bass) and mimic well the semi-open kind of feeling. Also the construction seems well but they are not so comfortable so you can sleep with them on. So.. they perfectly match the reason I bought them. Good headphones, nice value.

Good sound but annoying ergonomics

Jun 8, 2018

These are decent sounding earphones and seem to stay in your ears pretty well and are pretty comfortable in your ears. My big thumbs down for these earphones is the overall length of the wire to the jack. It's WAAAY too short. Not long enough to go from your jeans pocket to your ears. It does come with an extension wire, but when you use this, it's WAAAY too long; so that it dangles all over the place as you walk and your arm and hand get tangled in it. Terrible design!

Amazing value

Jan 15, 2016

Great flat sounding earphones with an amazing price.I have used them a few times for monitoring as a sound engineer and they didn't let me down. The isolation is ok but I haven't tried them in extremely loud settings like playing drums. They can get uncomfortable after a while and there is much room for improvement there. The price would go up I guess, but i would be willing to pay more for that. Great value for money nonetheless.

Not stunning, not terrible

Jun 1, 2016

Having read other reviews i thought i might be onto a winner with the price point and sound quality. Having used a pair of Sony's with similar construction i was hopefully but they never really delivered as well as i was hoping. Nothing wrong with them but spend a bit more to get a bit more.

Very good

Aug 23, 2019

I used it everyday for about 2 years. It has a clear sound balance. I could not find another headphone of this quality for this price in the market. Nowadays I used a bluetooth model but I would buy this one again if I ever needed one.

These sound great

Jan 5, 2016

These sound really good. For me they're comfortable and stay in my ears, unlike many others. I've used more expensive Shure in ears and preferred these. They're light and feel flimsy, but they haven't failed me yet.
