Sound great

May 1, 2013

I bought these to replace my 20 year old Technics closed backed headphones. I do a lot of recording as well as travel listening. These headphones sound very good. They were much improved over Technics I had. I listened to a range of headphones at the B&H Store and these came out on top for value and sound performance.

Best Value

Apr 4, 2013

These are great headphones for the money. I have owned a pair for ten years, and just bought a new pair because the old pair were starting to look ratty. It's funny how the design has really not changed at all in ten years. And that is ok because the design is great. How often does that happen with consumer electronics? I listen to music on headphones for hours every day while I work, so quality is very important to me. The sound is strong on all... Show More

the best headphones

Feb 25, 2013

i use these headphones in my studio and for djing. the headphones i had before these were the mdr-v7506 (almost the same headphones) which i had for about 15 years until they finally gave out (my daughter pulled a wire out, breaking them). and in another 15 years if i need new headphones again, i'd buy these same ones.

Value for Sonic Balance and Design

Feb 14, 2013

All in all, I think these are a great value for the sound quality, comfort and overall design. I think my critiques on sound are not ones that take into consideration the price point. I would not expect headphones under $ to reproduce a 3d soundstage precisely, but I have gotten used to audiophile stereo speakers, so it's hard not notice. I think they are really well balanced between the frequency ranges, but there is some of the space missing fr... Show More

Sturdy, good sound, reasonably priced

Jan 29, 2013

My first headphones broke. I got the Sony MDR-6 after reading several B&H customer reviews. They liked it for its sturdy build. I also like that it folds nicely into a small pack (provided with the purchase). The headphone-in plug comes with a converter to XLR size. The ear pads keep out extraneous sounds well, and the fidelity of the sound output is good, too. I use my earphones mostly for monitoring sound when I'm recording video, and listening... Show More

Great value

Jan 24, 2013

I primarily use these for PC gaming in a somewhat loud environment (living room with loud TV), and they serve this purpose well. They reduce external noise enough, and provide plenty of volume of their own. Clarity is better than any headphones I've used, although I'm no audiophile. These easily provide the deep vibrating bass that I've only experienced previously with a sub-woofer. The padding feels very delicate, and I expect it to deteriorate or tear long before the metal body and driver is worn out.

Excellent sound/Great deal overall

Jan 24, 2013

I use the headphones for studio recording and they get the job done well. Nice highs and lows. An honest sound with no added frills. Great for studio work and my clients have had no complaints! The casing on the earpads deteriorates relatively quickly but that can be fixed with the fabric covers for a small price. The sound sounds great for years and years.

Nice Cans

My Sony V6's are very comfortable, which was my main concern when looking for headphones. Good sound is imortant, but so is comfort, and these headphones are great for both.

Excellant

Jan 10, 2013

I use these headphones often, for both casual music listening, and producing music. For the price, these headphones are brillant. They don't boost anything, meaning that they give the sound, as it's meant to sound. The bass is smooth and sounds great. Unlike a lot of other headphones I've used, these actually allow you to hear your mid frequences. The highs are beautiful, they are clear and loud, but they arn't boosted or shrill. Solid, solid phones

Jan 9, 2013

I use these headphones for everyday use as well as light video/audio editing. I was quite impressed by the sound quality, there didn't seem to be much distortion. Other people have complained about the tight fit, but it only bothered me for about the first day.

don't think just buy them or the 7506's

Jan 5, 2013

between these and my work pair of MDR-7506's I've never owned another pair of headphones in the past 8 years. Mine recently broke (due to taking horrible care of them) and now it feels great having a brand new pair, I forgot how good the ear pieces actually felt on your head when they aren't run down. If you are debating between these and the 7506 the differences are incredibly small, if you have the extra cash get the 7506. If not I'm willing to bet you can save some cash, get the V6's and not notice the difference.

Surprisingly effective

Jan 4, 2013

This headsett initially sounds a bit harsh, but after a short while reveals itself to be a very capable headsett considering the price. It has none of the hyped response curves usually found in a similar price range, and the spiral cable is paramount for pro- as well as personal use.

No bass, Annoying hinges

Dec 18, 2012

I use these for everything from games, to music, to movies and everything in between. They replaced my Sennheiser HD280Pros and are definitely a step down in every regard outside of price and avaliablity. The first thing to note is there is absolutely no bass... everything sounds like tinitus no matter what I am playing off of... you can get it to acceptable if you want to fool around with equalizer settings or have a good soundcard but its a maj... A Superb buy

Oct 29, 2012

I use the headphones for just about every headphone use... while editing, for listening to music at home or on in public. They are comfortable, with great completely neutral sound quality. I tried all the headphones on display at the Superstore several times and the V6 was the clear winner. I checked with the salesperson if there were any others in the price range which could stand up to the V6 and his reply was that he was on his 3rd pair. That sealed it for me. Its a winner any which way you look at it.
