Light weight stunner.
Bought this as a lighter weight digital all purpose camera. While it is difficult to learn how to program, it takes great photos. Not sure about taking movies, but I will have fun trying.

Amazing Camera
When I first purchase the camera it had some issues, dead pixel in LCD. B&H resolved this by exchanging the camera and now the camera has no issues (knock on wood). B&H was surprisingly quicky, in less than a 2 days I had a new camera in my hands. Packs a lot of punch
Packs a lot of punch and bang for the buck! I also have a FS5. Still much prefer the picture off the FS5, I REALLY wish they would have allowed 10 bit 1080 from this camera instead of just 8 bit. Since it can record 4k 100mbps, I think this would be possible with the processor. Does not have as much dynamic range, mostly seen in the highlight handling, as the FS5. The autofocus is nice. Have not taken photos with this camera yet.

Incredible Value for the money
Sure, the menus can be overwhelming. Go find some tutorials - map all your buttons to the custom functions, and enjoy the amazing down-sampled 6k, good low light, amazing auto-focus, etc, etc. Just use FilmConvert or something similar and let the pros handle the color instead of spending countless days or even weeks trying to learn about every picture profile and color setting. A very good camera with a small footprint
I purchased a Sony a6500 and 16-70mm f/4 lens for travel. I wanted something that was not to big and heavy but would still produce excellent image quality. I have been using this combination for a few weeks now and have become quite familiar with navigating the menus and accessing functions. Great Camera
I just bought this but so far I like it a lot. It has amazing focus and picture profiles. The 4k is really sharp. I'm coming from using the Canon 6D and 70D. I like the color on the Canons well enough but the flexibility in editing 4k is just too good to continue shooting in 1080 only. Besides the color from the Sony is also really good. I like it
The kit was okay. The camera bag was fine for the camera without a lens. I have a large camera backpack which works for the body with a lens. I can use the camera bag for storing my back up drives. I also would have been happier if the battery was a Sony battery rather than after market, but having a backup is very good. I like the camera. Easy Conversion
I am a Canon guy - always was. Shooting with full-frame DSLR and it still will be remaining my main camera - all my lenses are Canon's, including long telephoto for wildlife. But I decide to try mirrorless for walkabouts in Paris. Alas Canon's mirorrless are not up to par so I ordered Sony a6500 with 18-105/F4 lenses. You know you want this camera
Its everything you expect, just buy it. I own an Alpha7II as well so all my lens work on the 6500. I wanted the magnification advantage of a 2/3 APS-C sensor, now my 70-200 is a 105-300. 4K video is stunning, and the drive speed for continuous shooting is just plain nuts. Save your money
The purchase of this camera started out to be a great. In under year camera started malfunctioning. Contacted Sony, I was referred to a repair a center which has UNSATISFACTORILY repaired the camera. What a shame, maybe Sony should focus an establishing a repair center to support their faulty equipment.

Great add for telephoto lens
Got this to compliment my a7rii which I use mainly for landscape and portraits. Other than the small LCD screen (now use with SmallHD Focus which is outstanding!), it works great with my 70-200 2.8 and the continuous mode in RAW is outstanding. Highly recommend as it's FPS speed is the fastest of the a6000 series.

Why did I wait so long?
The camera is a dream! Light and small but comfortable in the hand. The lens looks heavy but isn't and balances very nicely with the body, and the combination turns out very high-quality images. A minor annoyance is that when I carry the camera by the handgrip, my knuckles keep bumping into the lens. My major complaint is the atrocious menu system, but that can be greatly overcome by judicious use of the assignable keys. Not a joy to set up, but a joy to use!

Amazing performance from a small package!
I never thought that I would like "auto" anything, but auto ISO opens up a new realm of how to look at a scene. I have no complaints about the sensor or the processor. My only issue so far is where the buttons are and how sensitive they are. I like to use the view finder and if I'm not mindful I end up changing the ISO or something. It's not enough of an issue to diminish the quality and capability of this camera. Well done Sony!

A no-brainer
Bought the a6500 premium package. Got the ZEISS lens. A great camera without the weight of SLR. Beautiful sharp images. Get 2 extra batteries and body case.

OMG! What a camera
Sold back my entire Canon system to be able to travel lighter. Just got back from Europe and river cruise. I am so happy with the results. My suggestions: - Buy the ZEISS lens, very sharp, smooth. - Buy 2 extra batteries. - Buy the body case. I bought the premium package and added the 10-18 wide angle. I LOVE IT!

Simply the BEST Hybrid Camera
For anybody who shoots both stills and videos, this is the perfect camera! With the AF much improved from the original a6000 and much more reliable than even the FF a7R II, the a6500 keeps up well with any fast-paced situation. The include In-Body Stabilization might be the best thing included in this tiny body as we can now shoot videos with prime lenses that does not have OSS built-in.

First impressions are not positive.
Having used an A6000 and an A7ii for a long time, I was really looking forward to the A6500. So far, though, I have to say I am not impressed. Autofocus has a complete mind of its own. I set it to center focus, and it focuses way on the lower left of the screen. Set it to wide and hang on. This is an amazing camera
I have used the NEX-7, and now own the A7rII, the RX-100 IV, the RX-1 and love them all. The A6500 has the perfect file size for me, and starts up faster than the A7rII and also seems to have faster auto-focus than the A7rII.
