Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Graphite)
a D7100 with a small body...
I use as a Every Day Carry camera Things I like about it: - intelligent modes are a great quick tool for the streets - great image quality for an APS-C sensor - good software built-in - Live view is great - mirrorless - lightweight - focus peaking - FAST 11fps Things that could be better: - 1/4000 max shutter speed - eye sensor on viewfinder could be better configured not to engage when using the tilting screen - tilting screen could be better wi... Superb
I currently own an NEX6 and other Sony Cameras and got this A6000 as a potential step up from the nex6. I couldn't resist the price. Did not expect to find it was significantly better than the NEX6 in so many ways ( and I really like the NEX6)but was extremely pleased with the A6000. The fit and finish are superb and the controls are much better for me. The really important shooting controls are easy to find. True, the Menu is huge and will keep ... Show More

Nikon could match the Sony a6000!
I have been a Nikon user for 47 years, since I bought my first SLR -- a black Nikon FTN. I still own it and many other Nikons that I have bought from B&H since then. On my table nearby now I have D810, D610, D700, and D5100 Nikons. I have even collected several 1950s rangefinder S-model Nikons for display. When I determined to buy a mirrorless camera with a sensor at least as large at the one on the Nikon DX models, I found that Nikon does not ma... Show More

Awesome Camera
I love this camera! This was a replacement for my NEX-6 and is a worthy upgrade. It takes fantastic pictures and the new menu system is a huge improvement over the NEX-6. Just a few gripes but nothing I can't get over considering how much more camera I'm getting with this upgrade. First, the electronic viewfinder has a lower resolution than the NEX-6 but in truth, I can't even tell the difference. Second, there is no longer an elecronic level but... Show More

Loving this camera
Little bit about me, I'm a professional commercial director and spend 90% of my time directing and not behind a camera. I bought this camera specifically because I was wanted something better than my smartphone for both fun and work. Something to shoot BTS on, or little concepts I want to work through creatively without bringing on a crew... also I wanted a light packing walk around camera for street photography, and travel. To this end, the a600... Show More

The Sony a6000 is A Champion - In Every Way!

A Pro Photographers View
I purchased this camera with both the 16 - 50, and the 55 - 210 lens. Like so many folks, I was looking for a small mirrorless system that I could carry into the field, without carrying all of my heavy Canon gear. I have been using the A6000 for a couple of weeks now, and I am very impressed with the entire system. I have been using professional Canon gear for nearly 40 yrs, and I have always been pleased with the results. Now comes along this ti... Show More

outstanding pictures
I have had the camera for a couple of months. I was able to give the camera a good workout on a trip to Jackson Wy. and on to the OR. &CA. coast. The camera captured the difference in the tones of color the grays against the snow on the mts. and the different greens of the trees, and the blues of the ocean. The camera is easy to use. The batteries for the NEX 6 fits the A6000. I would have given the camera five stars except for the battery drain.... Show More

Very nice camera package
I am just getting back into photography after a few decades of a hiatus. My last 'good' camera was a Pentax SP1000, so that's a relic. I stayed out of the digital world except for point and shoot cameras as prices were high and quality, so-so. I waited until the mirrorless cameras could do what the big Nikons and Canons can do. I'm older and didn't want to carry around a big, heavy camera so the A6000 is perfect for me. The quality is amazing. I ... Show More

Great camera for parents (better customer service needed)
Sony A6000 is a great camera for a family with a newborn/child. I am new to the mirrorless camera system, and did a lot of research, and this was my final choice due to its size, price and performance. These features stood out the most for my situation: 1) 11 fps continuous shooting - you won't miss any sudden movement of the object (in my case, a baby) 2) 179 AF points - never lose focus of a moving object. 3) Built-In Wi-Fi Connectivity - save ... Excellent value
I'm a beginner when it comes to DSLR and this is my first camera. Have been using it extensively the last 2 weeks and I've been loving this baby so far :) Pros: - APS-C Sensor - Controls are easy to use - The 16-50 mm kit lens and the 55-210mm telephoto (I bought my camera with these 2), are really good lenses for a beginner or an amateur from what I could see. - The auto-focus is really fast. - The continuous shooting mode works nicely. - Wifi/N... Great camera for families, but short for professional uses
Well thought out hardware - improved but still confusing menu system - satisfying performance in both operation and image quality. This makes an overall winner. I bought one myself and recommended one for my friend. This is the first time for me to get a white color camera and I think more camera makers have to open up the color options. I assigned one custom button to quickly switch between DMF and MF. ISO steps can be configured to jump at 1/2 ... Show More

Good alternative to Crop-sensor DSLRs
So far so good. Have a Nikon D5200 (beginner DSLR) and my girlfriend purchased this camera to keep up with our landscape photography since it's so small and incredibly light. Pro's:1. Incredibly light compared to even a crop-sensor DSLR2. I merged the pictures with my Nikon D5200 on my laptop and can't tell the pictures apart3. Takes incredible night-time photos. a firecracker of a camera
i'm a professional who started with minolta 30 years ago, went to nikon through the f-5 film days and then to canon to the mark series and then to nikon through the d4. sony is the next generation and the future to me. mirrorless is pretty fantastic. there is a learning curve in using this little, tiny, itty bitty shrimp of a camera and it's also tricky remembering all the options in powerful tools. it works perfectly when you are sitting and mov... A lot of camera in a small package
This is our 4th a6000, and replaces one that was damaged in an accident. My wife and I each use one, and have one as a backup. It does everything our DSLRs will do, and does some things even better. We use them as our all around camera, but where the a6000 really shines is for travel work. It is light, compact, and versatile, but most importantly, it produces excellent images. Great camera with only minor issues
I bought this camera with the kit lens at B&H after months of reading reviews and handling several other cameras. I don't regret my choice. The A6000 is a great camera: it is small yet handles very well (indeed its shutter noise is both pleasing and evidence of high design and manufacturing quality). Focusing is very fast except in very dark environments. The EVF is very good and very gratifying in low light. picture quality is very good as is vi... Show More

Extraordinary
When I first decided to buy a mirrorless camera I was zeroing in on one of Sony's full frame A7 models. In researching that model, I learned more about the a6000 and the amazing reviews convinced me to make the purchase. The reviews sounded a bit too good to be true. When I received the camera, the camera was so small and light that I still felt a bit insecure about my purchase. I kept thinking 'what's the catch?'. I've had the a6000 for a few we... Show More

My previous camera is a Nikon D5000 with Nikkor 18-200 lens. This camera is the same. WHAT a difference, especially with sharpness and shutter lag (or lack thereof). My son is a wrestler. I take pictures of the kids on the team at meets. Usually half are blurry because the Nikon took too long to focus. At the first meet where I used it, not even 5 percent were blurry. I have both a Sony A7 and A6000 and I use the A6000 as a second body to mount my old Nikon film lenses with a Metabone adapter. The A7 is more forgiving of zooms, the A6000 really performs well with a great zoom. But both cameras give wonderful results with old primes.
