Loves a great zoom or prime

Jan 19, 2015

I have both a Sony A7 and A6000 and I use the A6000 as a second body to mount my old Nikon film lenses with a Metabone adapter. The A7 is more forgiving of zooms, the A6000 really performs well with a great zoom. But both cameras give wonderful results with old primes. The Sony sensors are capable of great detail and sharpness. I love the manual focusing options and the focus peaking, but the Zebra function is far less useful than Olympus's highl... Show More

Great little camera

Apr 12, 2016

Myself: Photography is a hobby and by no means a professional photographer but love to capture life as much as possible. Summary: Great camera for travel and all purpose photography. I have a Canon 70D and a few lenses. Wanted to a small form factor during my short trips. Bought a 35 mm lens with the camera instead of the stock lens options being sold at costco and other stores. 35 mm gives me a good wide angle view you can use it for portraits a... Show More

Amazing Camera!

Apr 27, 2015

I used to be an avid photographer back in 2009 and have been so busy and broke that I haven't had the time since then to purchase any new gadgets. My last camera was a Nikon F4, so as you can imagine how much catching up I have to do! This camera is easy to use. Every function on the dial explains to you what the feature is but, you'll have to figure out on your own how to use it. The kit lense that came with it is decent and the autofocus on thi... Best Mirrorless Camera for the Money

Feb 6, 2015

Where to start? The a6000 is a tiny wonder, and should be priced at $1,000 for what you get. There really is nothing that it cannot do. Do yourself a favor and go on YouTube and type in Sony a6000 reviews. Gary Fong is the first place I'd go, but also check out what Sports Illustrated photographer Patrick Murphy Racey, who has used the Sony a6000 to shoot college football, has to say--he sold his Nikon gear and switched to Sony. The image quality... Show More

As Described

Jan 7, 2015

The a6000 lives up to its reviews. It has features that some experienced SLR/DSLR users may miss, such as ease of use when switching between center focus and full-sensor autofocus. Automatic autofocus works great--manual focus with flexible spot selection is amazing. In tests continuous autofocus and high speed drive has locked to birds in flight. The electronic viewfinder works well for me, even with glasses on. Lack of a touch screen does not d... Show More

She is so impressed after one use that she is switching to the a6000. Awesome Beginner Camera

Here are a few things we love about this camera in no particular order: . great price; . easy to use auto focus; . shoots 11 frames per second action shots; . very customization to our own needs; . featur... Stunning quality in a pocket size camera

This is definitely the best interchangeable lens camera at this price tag. I use sony a99 as my work camera and I use to have the nex6 as my travel camera. But this one is great , 24.3 mp with great Image quality, at low iso the IQ is almost the same as my a99. with the converter to a mount I use my lenses to test IQ and it is hard to see a difference. Just when you start to compare it in detail in photoshop , you can see a minimum difference. It... Show More

If you want to see photos taken with it, my Instagram is davyn_9I bought this camera 5 months ago after doing extensive research before purchasing. I got the 16-50mm, and the 55-210mm. This camera has been amazing for me. As a new photographer who lacks editing (for now) having the downloadable applications, like time-lapse, and motion shot were amazing. When you compare this camera to bulky DSLRs there isn't much that they can do better. People ... Show More

A very capable compact DSLR

May 12, 2015

This is my go to camera when I travel. I like the results of using this camera with 55-210mm/f4.5-6.3 OSS shooting handheld. The combination is possibly the most compact and lightweight outfit of that focal range among all DSLRs. Sony packs a lot of technologies in this camera. So in terms of photography I think my creativity is the limit. Though a lot of good things can be said about this camera, there are a couple of things that need improvemen... Show More

The A6000 sees a low light scene very comparable to what your eyes see which is one of the best features of this camera. The Superior auto mode is absolutely fantastic for low light scenes. The camera very light weight, takes sharp images, and shoots excellent video. I like that I can use the view finder to shoot video rather than using the LCD screen. It's a great looking camera with its retro silver touches, it's shutter speed blasts most intro/mid level dslr's out of the water and the picture quality is some of the best I've seen with any camera but that's because I've paired it with some Zeiss glass. The electronic view finder is much better than I had expected and I actually like it more than the traditional dslr viewfinder. It's compact mirrorless body is so much easier to carry around th... Light weight but long range

Nov 25, 2018

A couple of years ago, I bought an A5000, which I like quite a bit. Adding the two-lens A6000 package allowed me to mount a lens on each body to alleviate the hassle of changing lenses. Both bodies and lenses are quite light weight and comfortable to carry around the neck at the same time. The 16-50 mm lens starts out at a wider angle than most mirrorless and DSLR zooms. This would be a perfect small camera if sony would do a couple of things to it.One thing is give it a front dial and rear dial for aperture and shutter speed and do away with the fiddly scroll wheel on the back and just make that a joystick pad for selecting focus points.
