Good viewer
This is a very good 35mm slide viewer. It has a press to light and a continuous light switch. The viewing area is good to identify slides but not big enough to edit. The viewer is battery powered. If you want to power it with a wall transformer, you must use their transformer with two small prongs to fit. It uses a standard focused flashlight bulb.

Old reliable
I have had one of these for over 50 years, The design hasn't changed a bit, and it is a good way to preview/sort/whatever my (lots of) slides I shot decades ago. This does not come with the (optional) 120V transformer/pronged cord. Batteries only unless you buy the 120V adapter.

It's not very good, but it's cheap
The slide ejection system failed after about 10 minutes. But if all you want a slide viewer for is to select slides for digitization, this device will work tolerably well and then you can throw it away. I just turn it on its side to view the slide and dump the slide by gravity. Plus, the fact that the light switch hangs up is actually an advantage, in that you can get a preliminary view of the slide, and its orientation, by holding it up in front of the screen without having to insert it.

i bought this slide viewer to start review of hundreds of family slides. So far I've been through about 100 and it is working very well.

I would buy from them again but you only need one slide view
The first one I received only worked for a few slides but they were very quick to replace it at no cost (postage and all). It does everything they said it would. I can see my slides to decide which I want to keep/make prints from. It shows real depth in each picture fun to remember.

Expected performance.
Plastic, seems a bit fragile. Somewhat pricey. I use it in my studio to reference slides. Works well so far.

Perfect
I no longer have a way to view slides, and occasionally come across a box of slides. I bought this to view 5 boxes of slides, out of which 4 slides are family treasures, that I'll have scanned and printed. Well worth the time and money. I'm sure in a few years I'll find another box of slides, and will have this viewer to see what's in the box.

Works well most of the time..
As I said, for the price it's okay....I have some 10,000 plus slides to go through after my mother passed away...going back a couple generations....should have purchased the light adaptor kit which allows you to plug it in....hand gets a bit tired flipping the light on and off....but, it was inexpensive and got about what I asked for...next time (which there won't be) I'd spend a bit more and get a bit more for the money..

Classic case of false advertising
Sales ad says 4X magnification. Actual magnification is LESS than 2X. Ad shows slide subject on front window. Actual subject is more than 3 below window. If you turned the viewer to the side as in the ad, you would see very little of the subject.

adequate for the job
Bought to review thousands of slides. Works well, and gives a nice view of each slide. Would though recommend a multi slide viewer if you have a lot of slides to review.

Color shift
This viewer is o.k. for sorting thru many slides and someimages really stand out. Its main problem is that the coloris shifted towards the red end of the spectrum. This isdue to thebulb that is used. If one could get a cooler bulb, then the colors would be more accurate. (The Diascop may have a cooler bulb.)

Great Old school equipment
Works well, great for viewing slides up close while sorting. Power is not an issue, especially when used with the power transformer.

Old school but quite cool.
I'm enjoying scanning slides into my computer, but I needed a little assistance. The process of holding a slide up to light, squinting, guessing if it's a good slide or not can be a daunting task after the first box or two of slides to process. Expected more for the price
The darned thing wouldn't light consistently! My wife shook the heck out of it, and so far she seems to have solved the problem. I' wondering if I shouldn't gone foe $ model of any brand rather than this $ model.

Very Handy if You Have Slides
I went thru about 1000 of my Dad's old slides in a few hours. A LOT easier than just holding them up to a light (which I was doing before buying this). Had to replace batteries (2 C cell) after about 600 slides. When the viewer starts showing dust simply blow the slide slot with compressed air and it's all clean. I never used the light bar lock because I forgot about it. It seems to be holding up well.

Good Value, Good Performance
I bought this to replace my mid 70's version of the same viewer, that was 40+ years old. This model is simple to use and offers good performance for the price. Only comment is that the construction appears to be a little less durable than my previous one. I guess that it means I will only get 20 to 30 years of usage?

Great little viewer
Great little viewer - simple and low cost. I had one just like it about 50 years ago, but lost track of it. Now, I am reviewing my 3,000 slides from which to order prints. This is the way to do it.

Very Good Slide Viewer
Three family members spent about 90 minutes on Thanksgiving sharing slide viewing. No mechanical issues. Except for some dirt behind the viewer screen the slides were clearly seen.

Slide Viewer
This viewer allows me to look through my slides in order to select those that are worthy of scanning. It gives a nice bright background along with enlarging the image so I'm able to review it. It's very easy to use and doesn't take up any space.

Not thensame
Had one of these in college during the 1970s. This new one looks alike but is of poor quality. Works well enough but often jams. Luckily sorting out the remaining slides, I will not need it.
