Slimblade is great

Dec 3, 2019

New trackball to replace very old Slimblade. After maybe a decade, a click switch stopped working on the original unit. New one working fine!

Defective

The one I bought is defective. The key I use most sticks and unless pressed dead center will call up tasks I have not programmed it to do. Still deciding if I want the hassle of returning it. It does work. But badly.

Exceeds expectation

Jul 3, 2017

I have used a trackball for more than 25 years. The latest one was Kensington Expert Mouse Pro which I had used for around 15 years. It is still functional but I thought I would give the SlimBlade a try since B&H had a super sale. When I plugged it into my Windows 10 computer and tried it, I didn't like it and was close to sending it back. But then I downloaded the software and adjusted the parameters and it was like a different product. The ball... Show More

If you know trackballs over mice you will like this

Nov 9, 2016

I used the original Kensington trackball on my Fat Mac. I loved it. This new SlimBlade brought me back to that feeling. Thanks Kensington! Trackballs reduce the motion in the shoulder and wrist but increase the motion in the hand. Once your are used to it your arm and body relax, no mouse fatigue. Set it below the keyboard at waist level if you can. Learn to use the scroll and key combinations and you won't miss the wheel button on a mouse. Some tactical learning required but worth it for reducing body strain.

Excelent Trackball

Aug 6, 2016

I have used a variety of trackballs for at least two decades. I am really impressed with the Kensington SlimBlade. The ball is the right size for fine graphics work and easy to control. The near switches work well for a mouse's right and left clicks, the top two buttons I have programmed for copy and paste functions. I thought I would not like scrolling with the ball as opposed to a wheel, but have found the ball easy to use and control, just spin it clockwise to go down the page. Overall this trackball is well made and very much worth the $ and B&H got it to me fast and well packed.

Not as Good as Kensington Expert Mouse K64325

Jun 1, 2016

We really tried to like this sleek looking trackball, but the four plastic panels that activate the buttons have a design flaw. We have about ten of these and they all have the same problem to various degrees. When first pressed the buttons make a plastic crunching sound and require greater-than-normal pressure. Subsequent presses are normal, but after sitting for awhile without being used, the next initial press has the crunch problem again. Som... Show More

If you like trackballs, this device is great

Feb 28, 2016

I have been a trackball user ever since I learned about them on a Space Invaders Video game. You don't need a lot of desk space to use a trackball...the ball is moved, not the mouse. The slimblade is very accurate and has some features that cover for the scroll wheel in mice. By rotating the ball, you can scroll up and down pages. It also has 4 buttons which can be program. Thee are two minor drawbacks. The slimblade is a wired device so it must ... Show More

Using the trackball in video editing studio with FCPX, Premiere. Love the previous Slimblade and wore it out, wouldn't put the cursor in the right place. Bought a second one and it is great except for the upper left button sticks sometimes. Having it replaced by the manufacturer or B&H

Great Product

Great product - really smooth and precise. I find I need to get a wrist rest. It is shorter than my previous one and my wrist does not rest on the unit but on the desk and I find that slightly uncomfortable.

Another Winner from Kensington

Jun 28, 2015

I find a stationary track ball more comfortable than a traditional mouse for extensive time at my computer. (A mouse requires more real estate for movement.) Speed and precision are easily adjusted. The ball is larger than most and means it's easy to move the pointer exactly where you want it. Four buttons around the ball can be changed for click, double click, right click or many other options in the software.

New Modern

Apr 27, 2015

The new slim trackball is very similar to the old one. A bit more clicky on the buttons then the old. The one thing I am missing is the ring that was around the ball itself for moving things up and down. I am missing that more then I though I would.

Always preferred trackballs over mice. They take a little time to adjust but once you do, the difference is amazing. This model is extremely comfortable and customizeable to suit your preferences as to how the four plate style buttons function. The possibilities of increasing your level of comfort and productivity are unmatched by any other trackball I've seen before. I purchased the SlimBlade Trackball because using a mouse was really causing me discomfort. The SlimBlade has provided much needed relief. Though I am keeping the mouse near by. IMHO: Best trackball ever made

Mar 10, 2015

The large ball is great for rough or precision use. It's operation is smooth and quiet. When it's used by people whose hands shake, turning down the speed in the TrackballWorks config panel, make this the ideal tool for moving your pointer. Use the upper two buttons to Go Back and Double-Click makes WebBrowser navigation or Windows Explorer Navigation a breeze. My older friends prefer it to mice.

A Neat Trick, OR: The Elitist's Choice

May 22, 2014

If sheer good looks were the sole criterion for choosing a trackball, the Kensington Slimblade would be the one, hands down, money no object. Even the cable gets the deluxe treatment, wrapped in braided cloth insulation like some high-class audio products. I've never seen braided cloth on any computer interconnect before, let alone a common USB cable. Otherwise, you can save some money on a Kensington Expert Pro Mouse (which B&H also carries), an...
