Very handy mouse

Nov 14, 2014

I have used Kensington track balls for about 15 or more years as they allow me to draw straight lines easily when plotting in Autocad. I design and modify passenger vessels and so precision is very important to me when plotting and the horizontal ball doesn't require reorientation of the reflexes like the vertical balls do. Worse yet, most of the others are just at an angle and not square to the world. This is my least favorite of all the balls I... Show More

Not ergonomically designed

Mar 14, 2017

I wanted a wireless ambidextrous trackball mouse. I currently have a wired Logitech Marble Mouse and it works great. This Kensington Orbit Wireless Trackball Mouse is too wide but the worst thing is the round track around the ball is active all around so when moving the ball to move the mouse pointer or trying to click the outside button (could be left or right depending which hand you are using) quite often you touch the orbit track and the page... Okay, but not great.

Feb 23, 2015

I have been using Kensington Trackballs for a long time (Expert Mouse and it's predecessors) and always loved the way they worked. I bought this one because I wanted to lose the wire. This Trackball is a bit of a disappointment to me. I love being free of cord, but I miss not having four buttons, which greatly expanded the capability of the Expert Mouse. Perhaps worse though, this trackball has a tendancy to hang for no apparent reason, and quite... Show More

nice portable mouse

Nov 23, 2019

I got this mouse to be able to do some editing and colour grading with Resolve while travelling. It works great for that. Some reviewers have mentioned that they had trouble with the scroll wheel, since it's a touch sensitive track around the ball, but I had no problem adapting to it. As some others have mentioned, the right button is a little hard to reach, but I imagine I'll get better at it as time goes by. It did what I wanted, and made the job easier. All in all, really happy with the purchase.

Nearly Perfect!

Feb 10, 2015

Very smooth and well made. I love the size and shape but the buttons are a bit of a reach. I love the touch scrolling! I don't accidentally scroll like some have reported and the position is perfect. I have always used a trackball (Logitech Marble) so I adjusted to this one in a few minutes. Mouse users may take a few days to transition but it is worth it. I now get annoyed when I have to use a mouse and I run out of room on the mouse pad. Never happens with the Wireless Orbit!

Wireless trackball w/ odd scroll feature

Apr 22, 2013

I bought this for an elderly family member to use while playing card games. I prefer trackballs to mice & the wireless feature works very well w/ a large monitor at a distance from the computer. The touch pad like scroll feature which is adjacent to the ball is a problem that would be better disabled for my application & causes unintended scrolling. The driver should offer an option to adjust sensitivity or preferably disable the scroll feature.

Enjoying the mobile trackball mouse

Aug 4, 2017

I like trackball mice because there's less stress on my arm and wrist moving the mouse around on the desk surface. This is my second Kensington Trackball mouse; I have the larger wireless version in my office. I use this smaller, more mobile Orbit when I am working elsewhere in the house or traveling. It's much more compact and travels well. There was no set-up or driver download involved with my MacBook Pro. Ready to go at once.

Mostly good experience......

Sep 3, 2013

There are not many wireless trackballs out there to choose from. There are some VERY nice ones from exotic manufacturers, but they are hundreds of dollars. This one works for me. Only complaints are: I wish it was about 10%-20% bigger for a slightly larger hand. Also, the TrackballWorks software works great BUT sometimes exhibits some odd bugs in Windows 7 requiring you to unplug and replug the usb receiver.

Great for travel, kinda small for home

May 15, 2014

It's pretty small for travel, which is why I bought this trackball. Microsoft Trackball Explorer is still a much more comfortable trackball, but not manufactured anymore. The actual ball of this one is pretty small, and the left button is comfortable enough, but the right not so much. I also keep scrolling accidently by touching the areas by the ball. Still beats any mouse I think.

Works well with Apple's Maverick

Aug 17, 2014

The old Logitech trackball was giving me fits since upgrading to Mt. Lion and was as bad or worse with the Maverick operating system. I made sure the trackball had the latest firmware and was clean but it still had trouble selecting, dragging and dropping and scrolling so I bought the Kensington trackball. It worked perfectly right away. (I had downloaded the driver first.)

Great Trackball... I just needed a spare.

Dec 6, 2018

I have used this product since it was available, many years ago. In fact, because I have multiple computers at different locations, I have several of them. All have worked well for many years. They occasionally wear out, so I purchased this one as a spare. Overall, Im very pleased with the product and would recommend it to others.

A precision instrument

Jun 18, 2018

A good track ball mouse is worth it's weight in gold. For a detailed photographer working on photo restoration this product is a must. As soon as you take it out of the package you plug it in and you're ready to go !! Smooth and precise in all it's actions. I love it. And no more sore wrist to boot.

Great for tiny hands

Mar 5, 2014

I have small hands and I'm prone to shorting out every cord I come across. I needed wireless fast as my Kensington Orbit Optical Trackball keep shorting out. I loved that mouse so much. If only that design were wireless. YOU HEAR THAT KENSINGTON? MAKE THE ORBIT OPTICAL DESIGN WIRELESS THANK YOU! ;)

GREAT wireless trackball mouse!

Jul 24, 2012

I love this mouse. It's wireless, the trackball is located in the middle so you use your forefinger, not your thumb, to navigate, and best of all, if it's dropped or falls off the surface it's on, the trackball doesn't come out! I have spent too much time searching for stray trackballs. Buy it now!

High quality wireless trackball

Jul 18, 2012

I like my new trackball, and use it with my computer on a daily basis. One of the things I think is really great is the ability, as a one armed man, to use the trackball completely with just a left arm. I really appreciate the fact that the trackball is centrally located on the mouse.

Good Product

Jan 13, 2014

Overall good product. My wife is a graphic designer and finds this type of mouse effective for her job's demands. The only issue she has had is the track ball not being big enough. An increase in size would have made it perfect. She recommends it.

easy to use stationary mouse

Feb 27, 2015

Just got it to replace a Logitech wireless m570. The Kensington mouse is more precise than the M570. The touch scroll is easier to use than the scroll wheel although I wouls like to see a button to convert the ball to a scroll function.

I'd buy another one in a heartbeat if I somehow lost this .

Jan 4, 2017

This is my second one. Love the size. The only reason I had to buy a new one is because I repeatedly drop mine on a tile floor. It took a lot of abuse with resilience for a long time. Thinking about buying another one for my desktop.

Solid but erratic

Nov 19, 2013

Trackball works fine but the scrolling function is erratic. Relies on a sensor rather than mechanical input, and there is no way to adjust sensitivity in the software.

I would buy it again if need be.

Dec 12, 2016

Works just fine, but ergonomically, it's a little hard to use the right-click button. Other than that, it's very precise and fast. Decent software, too.
