Work great on SR60i & 80i and MS-1

Aug 17, 2009

I have a pair of Allesandro Music Series One (made by Grado) that came with the stock Grado flats that the Sr-60i and Sr-80i have. They worked great but after listening for 4 hours or more, your ears start to get sore due to the pressure on them. After wearing them out, I replaced them with the L-Cush (bowls) and they fit perfectly on the headphones. It places your ear a little farther away from the element but it opens up the soundstage. new foam for old ears

Oct 21, 2013

the old ear cushions were crumbling, in part due to my stubbly beard, I'm sure. New ones came in an envelope and were about 1/3 as thick as the ones I had which had me worried that they were not the same. Turns out they had been flattened in the envelope/during shipping and just needed a little time to remember their original shape so everything is good now. Some people complain about the fit of these and choose the larger ones available but I am... Show More

Still uncomfortable

Feb 5, 2009

I got these replacement pads after the originals for my SR60 had dissolved. I hoped after some comments that they would be a bit more comfortable as I'm already satisfied with the exceptional sound quality of my Rados. But they haven't been, at least to me. Granted I have a big head and big ears but these pads still make you want to take them off after every hour. Now parts of my ear are in direct contact with the harder driver protection mesh wi... Great cushion for my Grado SR60

Jan 21, 2009

I meant to buy the ear cushion for my Grado SR60, which has no open hole in the middle. But B&H sent me the L-cushion with hole on it, might be a mistake. So I tried this on my SR60, turned out it was perfect. I know some people cut a hole on their ear cushion for SR60 for sharper sound effect. Let me tell you, this L-cushion is your perfect choice for SR60. It fits very well on SR60. When you wear it, you don't feel pressure on your ears because... Show More

Surprised to find these at B&HQ

Jun 22, 2010

The other BIG stores in NYC didn't stock these... even though I originally bought the headsets from them. Was told I needed to order directly from manufacturer (Grado). Glad to find that B&H stocked these. Loved the Grado 80's. Best headphone I ever owned. Nothing comes close at the pricepoint. Also owned the Bose but quality is much better. Only trouble is that it's open-air headphones so the sound is heard by your neighbours and if you're on plane of bus, you hear lots of background noise.

Works as expected, but price seems high

Jul 12, 2010

Needed to replace my earpads for my Grado SR80 headphones. The older ones were completely squished, put pressure on my ears, and were limiting my listening time. The L-CUSH replacements improved the comfort and sound quality (like when headphones were new). They still make some contact with the ear (not large enough to go completely over the ear), but the pressure is reasonable now. They work as expected, but $ for two foam pads seems way too high. Hopefully, they will last a long time.

Save your ears

Feb 22, 2010

I've loved using my Grado SR-80 headphones everyday over the last four years but recently started noticing my ears smarting -- not the onset of tinnitus, thank goodness, but rather the foam ear cushions finally giving out so that the hard plastic was hitting my outer ear. Replacing the cushions solved all of that! A cheap and easy fix, ... Definitely get the L-Cushion for the SR-80s; that's what came on my original headphones and they are very comfortable.

The best cushions for SR-225i!

Apr 21, 2009

I re-bought these after experimenting with other supposed mods (reversed yellow pads, reversed comfies, flats, etc.) & none sound as good as these L-Cush bowls!...Comfort wise? Well, they're ok & even better if you lightly bend your Grado's head band outward to remove the pinch...Unless you're replacing your original bowls from normal wear & tear, these continue to be THE cushions that sound the best with SR-225i's, as John Grado intended it!

OEM replacement pads

Sep 17, 2013

Replacement pads for SR80s fit as designed after some time decompressing. I did not care for the packing and shipping, the 2 pads were rubber banded together, in a zip-lock baggie deforming them so they could not be used immediately, had to let them sit for some time to regain their shape. The baggie was packaged in a very flat cardboard sandwich, which almost looked like it was vacuum sealed, flattening the foam further distorting them.

Headphones made new again

Aug 12, 2012

I picked up some Grado SR-60's off @ a while back. The stock flat-foam pads were well beyond their useful lifetime, but the headphones otherwise sounded fine. Enter the L-CUSH replacement foam ear pads: a perfect fit, as one would expect, and everything sounds just as good (if not better) than before. They're certainly more comfortable than the original pads, though that assessment will vary according to the individual.

Poor shipping - received them flat

Aug 9, 2013

When my L-CUSH replacement foam ear cushion arrived they came in a flat cardboard envelope. When I opened the envelope, the cushions were flat as pancakes. Expensive as they were, I could not believe how they were shipped. Luckily I was able to revive them by soaking them in warm water, gently squeezing the water out, and drying them on paper towels overnight. They are 97% normal. Poor shipping of item.

Grado's Factory Foam Breaks Down

Sep 29, 2008

Grado's L-CUSH pads are the same as the pads that come with new Grado headphones. These foam pads break down much sooner than the pads on other high quality headphones such as AKG, Sennheiser or Sony. I am disappointed with the short life of these pads, as I have not needed to replace the pads on my other headphones. I wish someone made longer lasting pads to fit Grado's wonderful sounding headphones.

Great Upgrade for the SR-60

Aug 15, 2009

These were a nice upgrade after 2 years with my SR60. It seems the extra material in the original pads which was blocking the drivers - muffles the sound a little if you can believe it. You gain a boost in clarity, detail - and the mids and highs become more forward. For me, there was an improvement in comfort because my ears aren't crushed by the bowls. Others have experienced the opposite.

The all-around best replacement ear pad

Jan 9, 2012

These are, for all intents and purposes, the donut pads that come standard with Grado models such as the 325i. They're stiff and a little shy on comfort until they break in a tad, but then Grado fans already value performance over comfort. Just wish the pads didn't wear out so often; I'm on my third pair (including the original set) in a little over three years.

Grado cushions

Mar 17, 2009

Grado headphones are great, we all know this. They look like a pilot's headset from the 1960's, and they sound darn good. I bought these because one of my original cushions fell off somewhere. So, in conclusion, I commend Grado for selling replacement cushions for their wonderful cans, but I almost wish they didn't come off so easily. Four stars for these! Yay!

grado + great

Jun 24, 2015

Bought these ear pads to replace the ones that basically disintegrated on my first pair of SR80is. The pads that came with the phones didn't have the hole in the center. The hole opens up the sound a lot more and gives it more volume and definition through out the spectrum. I will be buying another set of these for my other Grado SR80is.

I bought these L-Cushion Replacement foam ear cushions to for my 9 year old Grado RS2 headphones. My old ones were crumbling and leaving black foam on the side of my face; the headphones started to hurt my ears. Once I bought these, I felt like I had a brand new pair of headphones.

These are ok, but slightly different than the stock pair on my hf-2 and 325....they are a touch smaller all around and the cutout is also a touch smaller, interferring with the high freq a bit from the driver. Not a big deal but I personally prefer the stock size.....

great if they didn't fall apart

Dec 26, 2008

They're soft and comfortable. They really help the sound when you go from a flat crumbled set to a new one. I'm only giving 3 star because the L-CUSH earpads tend to disinigrate/crumble apart after a couple years. I use these on my RS-1s. ...
