Well made, but with some surprises
I got this head to use for pole aerial photography with a Nikon D800 and D7100 with Brand R plates. The Custom Brackets Tilt Head is substantial (just over a pound on my postage scale) and fits the Brand R plates nicely. Index marks make it easy to center the camera. Finally something built heavy enough
To handle my 600mm F4.0 and 1dMkIII without worrying about working loose and dumping on me. This is a quality piece of equipment to add to your arsenal. All the ones I tried before would not handle the weight and would shift loose at all the wrong times. Use this on a carbon fiber monopod and love to rest on my shoulder when walking for bird shots. No more worries about a sudden shift of weight, and easily adjusts for tension.

Swing and a miss
Conceptually sound but poor execution. The opposite threaded lockdowns will drive you mad and it is not a quick release but a threaded release. So that third knob you see is not a third axis but the Arca fitting. So only pan and tilt. But the fatal flaw is the pan lockdown, which shifts the pan as it is tightened.
