Best printer for Pro work.
I have used the Canon Pro 9000II for many years now and it exceeded my expectations but it is now showing signs of aging so I decided to replace it with the Canon Pixma Pro-100. Best decision I could have made, this printer is great value when you consider its specs. The color prints are just superb and the monochrome prints are the best I have seen for an inkjet printer, if you are an enthusiastic photographer on a budget like me, you cannot go wrong with this printer, it will impress you.

As promised
Only a week and a few print into it my exerience is positive, pretty much what I was led to believe. The panel interface is primitive - you're asked to count blinking lights to determine what might be wrong. I suspect Canon is trying to clear inventory for a machine with a proper interface. Why else such a bargain after the rebate?

Slowest device ever
Unfortunately, this new printer, connected by supplied USB cable, takes about 5 minutes to print a page such as the Windows test page. On a robust wireless connection, it is at least 10 minutes. I do not expect speed from a photo printer, but my first printer in 1985, on a parallel cable, was at least 6 times as fast as this.

Great quality, easy setup
I finally got rid of an Epson R2000 after years of frustration with paper handling. The Pixma seems to prints photo and text documents easily the rival of the Epson. The major difference is that the Pixma inks are dye-based while the Epson was pigment-based. The Canon is really a no-fuss machine. It does not take forever to get itself ready (and waste a bunch of ink) like the Epson and its paper-handling capabilities (so far) have been perfect. I... Show More

Excellent quality professional printer
As a former Epson user, I decided to try Canon. While I print low volumes, I need high quality results. I am very pleased with my new PRO 100. The print quality is excellent. The ink cost is also more reasonable than Epson. The support software is also an improvement over Epson. So far I am very glad I made the switch.

Exceptional printer
Setup was so simple I don't even remember it, and it was done with only WI-FI. The printer is so quiet you don't even notice it when it is printing a photo. So far have used Photoshop 2019 for first time, my treat to go with printer, was cheap, anyway, to print only on 4 x 6 glossy photo paper. I like the results and look forward to putting some of my favorite photos on larger papers like the huge paper that came with this deal. I am super impres... Show More

Fantastic Deal!!
Need to replace my wide-format printer, and discovered this bargain at B & H. Compared all the specs of comparable printers, and since I am also a photographer, decided to go with the PRO-100 vs some other wide-format printers. Arrived on time and after install, does some magnificent printing.

Stupid
Works great when it actually works. This is the second pro-100 printer I've owned and the first one left black marks on the corner of the paper. Bought this new one, and immediately it does the same thing. I have to bend the paper in order for it to not smudge black ink on the corner of the leading edge. Printer also only connects and prints half the time, the other half it just sits there in error state.

Amazing $100 printer
Considering I received $50 worth of paper and a $250 rebate, this printer cost me $100. If you are hesitating in buying it, don't. The prints I make from this are amazing, but especially so because while I have been taking photos for 50 years, I haven't had much luck previously at printing. My own photography tends to be literally on the dark side with objects fading into a black background and with this printer, detail in the darkest areas, visi... Show More

No Muss No Fuss
The software was a little difficult to install on my Macbook Pro for some reason but after that I can only give rave reviews for this printer. After being an Epson printer owner for over 20 years I finally got fed up with the clogging and switched to Canon. It prints beautifully, easily, every time. Not a fussy printer at all. Just a steady, reliable, workhorse that does a great job on printing photographic images.

Awesome Printer!
I have had the Pro-100 for about 2 weeks. So far it has been outstanding. Pros: Great color, up to 13 x 19 prints, easy to use, wifi compatible, $250 rebate Cons: Size (27 in wide, 15 in deep), pricey ink cartridges, installation of software on a MacBook was cumberson. Supplied CD for Mac did not work. Had to download multiple files to get it installed. No help from Canon. All in all, a great printer for photos. So happy.

Fantastic printer
A great investment for my business, when the quality of my prints is crucial. The free sample of the Canon luster paper was very much appreciated as well. It is now my go-to paper. Having the right paper for the job really makes a difference. Gorgeous prints from a great printer.

Great Addition for My Photo Business
I had some reservations about the installation of this printer based on some of the reviews I read here, but I had no such issues when I received my printer and installed it. I did have to connect it via USB for the initial set-up (as per the instructions), but afterward was able to connect it via wireless router (using an ethernet cable). I had no issues with the installation CD (I'm on Windows 10 64-bit) like some other reviewers did. When I fi... Show More

NOT FANCY OR FUSSY - AND THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING
Let me first say I don't know nearly enough about photo printing to even comment on how the Pro-100 stacks up against its competition now or ever. I got mine as an impromptu throw-in item from a private seller on Craigslist, literally for free as I was walking out the door. As an Epson guy, I had fully intended to sell or maybe give it to someone, but because my Epson was clogged for the umpteenth time from too little use (my bad of course, but s... Show More

Printer is great software is good, add ons slow me down
First I started in 2000 with The Old Epson 1280 and loved it until I didn't-- used up ink, no support, etc but it did do great b/w when you used the b/w system. Got a few more Epsons and each one was worse than the last. Then I got a Pixma second hand and even then it was better than my Epsons (except for the roller paper feature. I had no doubt this would work well and it has. The inks load easily, the paper is easy and seems so far not to st... Show More

Jumped off the Epson ship
I had owned Epson printers for many years, primarily the Stylus Photo printers. I had good results from them all. I wondered about Canon photo printers but stuck with Epson. At 66 years of age I decided that since my Epson Stylus Photo R2000 had printed its last photo I would check out Canon. The deciding factor was the rebate of $250 on the Pro-100. That would mean I would only have $150 invested in the printer. Not only that, I also received a ... Show More

Learning curves can be interesting...
the printer was easy to install. But since then I have had to reevaluate the programs I use and how they talk with this printer. This printer has a level of refinement that the older Epson did not have. I am enjoying the challenge!

It is heavy and bigger than I had expected, the pictures it prints are the brightest that I have seen. I really like it and I wish it had a build in scanner but as I have another one I can live without it.

Lovely prints
In contrast to some reviewers' experiences, installation was simple. The push button WiFi connection worked first try. I installed selected software from the Canon disk. The only problem was identifying the right subfolder of Photoshop Elements to install the Print Studio Pro. (Mostly an Adobe issue. ) No problem once I identified this. I had felt the prints from my older Canon MG6320 were pretty good, but the prints from the Pro-100 have bett... Show More

Nice Printer especially with the Great Rebate
I have this printer setup as a networked printer. It was easy enough to set-up. I generally prefer Linux and I found a third party driver that works well (https://www.zedonet.com). I look forward to receiving the rebate so that I can setup color calibration for my monitor.
