New Upgrade
Enough changes between this camera and my former camera, a 60D, that there is some learning curve if you're upgrading. But so far the mastery of settings and menu item locations and control details seems relatively smooth. Camera makes solid images and the increased megapixels over my previous camera make for somewhat sharper photos. I did not replace lenses; I am shooting mostly flowers, birds, and wildlife with a EF 70-300 1:45-5.6 DO IS USM lens. Would probably rate this camera a 4+ so far if there was an option for half stars.

I have used this for almost two weeks - still learning
I moved up from a very worn-out T3 (over 160,000 shots) so this one is my replacement body. Fast 7 or 9 fps will come in handy during sports activities. Higher ISO will be useful, though I see some noise around 20K. Nothing like the noise in the T3. Photos are larger so you need more memory to capture it. Also may need one or two 4 Terabyte memory devices. I have three already full. I shoot in the RAW/HiRez Jpeg format so I can quickly scan my ph... Show More

Great Camera
I havent had the camera too long yet, but so far, so good. I still have to tweak a few things, but getting there. Nice camera, would purchase it again.

back screen and on off button
Its a camera lighter and more economic than its previos model, flip of the back screen its not handy , better have it fix in the body . The on off video, switch is fragil not comparable to previous models I bought by recommendation of Canon guys at the B&H, but it was not a good recommendation, bad decision,

Very good with one gripe
This camera is a step up from my t4i - slightly better image quality, better ergonomics and most importantly, better autofocus. I do have one gripe though - the camera has a very small buffer, and it cant take advantage of UHS-II cards. Even shooting 1 image/sec, the camera will soon lock up. A bigger buffer wouldnt add much to the cost, but I suspect that Canon is trying to get customers to buy a higher end model.

One sweet DSLR
My older Canon DSLR was great, I took many years of fine photos with her. This newer 77D is totally amazing. I have had her out now many times and am still learning the options and functions available. The product has been all I expected and more so far. I dont think it is going to disappoint me in the future. Its a quality machine.

Excellent overall DSLR like a smaller full featured 80D
Most of the functions of the 80D in a smaller package, so it is travel and family friendly and still great for semi pros and hobbyists. Loving my 77D. Lots of button and dial controls on outside and the touch screen is top notch. Dual pixel sensor and fully articulating screen, what more could you want. Electronically stabilized video in body and put together with STM lens with IS for good movies. Nikon you should be comparing to this camera to i... Show More

Got this sleeper Canon and sold my 5D Mark III, 6D & 7D
Bought the 77D about a year ago after a lot of research. With advanced cell phone cameras and a Canon mirrorless MF, plus getting really tired of dragging heavy cameras and lenses to Europe, I got the 77D as my serious camera, got the Canon 10-18mm wide angle and the Canon18-135mm. For a long lense, which I was seldom using, I sold my Canon L 70-200mm with 1.4 extender and kept my 70-300mm Canon tele. Since most photos are sent out digitally and published on line, I could not justify either the expense or the weight of big boy cameras and glass. Do not really miss them.

Upgrade to 77D from T2i
Enjoy the additional focus settings in viewer, Jump to the higher pixels is a real plus for cropping. Layout of controls closely matches the professional series of cameras as well. Comfortable to hold.

77D kit
Love the 77D with the 18-135mm lens. Great choice for a new aspiring enthusiast to learn. Wish I had started in photography years ago. Between online courses and YouTube, it's easy to learn on the 77D. Printer kit was a great deal with the rebate, but FedEx damaged the printer and paper in shipment. Working with customer service on an exchange right now ...

Having this camera converted
I have not removed the mount cap as of yet. I bought this unit to be my telescope camera. I hope to send it off to have it h-Alpha and Sulphur II converted. Once I get it back and start shooting nebulae I'll give an update. I purchased it off of the reviews and YouTube segments addressing its quality.

First impressions
My Canon 5D mkII died and left me with 10K worth of lenses to either sell or get another body for. I've had a number of Rebel series cameras in the past and was patently underwhelmed with IQ. At first I dismissed the 77 D as just a fluffed up Rebel. Then I read a review that convinced me that the new processor engine, the high pixel count, the top LCD panel, much improved metering and focusing would make it an acceptable body for my lenses. I pri... Show More

Awesome upgrade from my XSi
After loving my Canon Rebel XSi for almost 10 years, I thought it was time for an upgrade. It was a toss up between the SL2 and the 77D. I went with the 77D because of the $649 price and 5 times as many focusing point over the SL2 and my XSi. I love that the 77D feels comfortable and as familar as my XSi. The menus are much more advanced with more features, yet familar and easier to use than the XSi menus. The touch screen is an added b... Show More

Great for Travel
This camera is light and easy to carry, even coupled with Canon's EF-S 18-135mm is nano USM lens. I do a lot of travel and was looking for a good light travel combination. Everything about this camera is great. Fast focus and 45 point AF, I love it. I previously carried a Canon HS40 sx zoom, which is a great travel camera but on cloudy days or overcast days it didn't take good pictures. The EOS 77d certainly remedied that.

nice images and great value
Was wanting a light long tele setup for my mft very friendly bodies and went with the 77D and Tamron SP 150-600 G1 instead. The EOS has turned out to be very easy to use. Though the viewfinder is small it works great for wildlife; the live view capability makes landscapes easy and precise. I found that using sharpness set to minimum and saturation +2 delivers a very high keeper rate. I needed no autofocus correction for the Tamron.... Show More

Huge Bang For the Buck!
I bought one when they were put on sale for 649. My purpose was to have a light weight crop frame camera to hike and climb with but with two control wheels and a top LCD like my 5D IV. I've now had it for a couple of months and taken 2500+ images with it, all outside and with a variety of L series lenses. Of course it cannot do everything a 5D can but I've been very impressed with the color and contrast. Perhaps the biggest pleasant surprise is how well it meters exposure. I rarely need to adjust it. Put a good lens on it and you will get great, tack sharp images.

No Joke
This camera is no joke. I always slap on a nice tempered glass screen protector even before firing it up. This camera feels amazing. The weight and grip is perfect. Performance is a 10/10. The 45-point all cross-type AF is a huge advantage over Canon's previous models. I really can't find anything wrong with this camera. While the reviewers typically favor the 80D this camera has it's advantages; newer processor and Bluetooth (80D only has Wi-Fi)... Show More

Review of EOS 77D
I just got this camera so honestly I haven't had a a lot of picture taking time as of this time. I previously used a SL1 and I started having LCD issues with it. I do love the upgrades that come with this camera...It's still lightweight and feels sturdy in my hands. I like that the memory card has a different slot then with the battery. I like having a lcd display on top for a quick reference. I haven't used the flip LCD screen as of yet but do l... Show More

Excellent handling and very affordable DLSR
As the basis for my comments, I've had a number of earlier generation Canon crop sensor DSLRs (most recently the SL1), a Canon 6D full frame, and earlier used Nikons. I switched from Nikon to Canon for the greater lens options. I've also recently purchased a Fuji X-E3. Like all the reviews say, this 24 mp 77D is a noticeable improvement in image quality from the earlier 18mp generation of Canons. I DO wish Canon would do away with the anti-aliasi... Show More

good choice
after almost 10 years of staying away from digital photography, i have bought my second dslr. i decided to buy canon again, and it was good decision. 77d is beautiful and well made camera. lens works fast and very quiet. 77d is easy in use, menu is clear and inbuilt programs do their job perfectly. camera isn't heavy and grip is very comfortably. personally, i very like wifi and bluetooth functionality, it allows me easily copy my photos to phone (and from it, to my home cloud drive).
