Honest and reliable headphones

Apr 22, 2016

I'm using the Beyerdynamics DT-770 Pro 250Ohm headphones as an allrounder in my mastering studio. For tracking, overdubbing, mixing and mastering. Besides that, I also do use them as main headphones when working as a sound engineer at small music festivals. I was not blown away by the sound they gave me for the very first time but I heard all little hidden sounds in the mix, for example, the sizzling sound of the cymbals and the sound of the sc... Great tracking headphones!

Jan 6, 2019

USE: I bought these for general tracking duties. PROS: Good solid build quality, great overall sound, lightweight and comfortable, plenty of output CONS: The sound isn't quite as flat and the mid range is slightly scooped compared to more esoteric headphones. Would have preferred a detachable cable. OVERALL: I've been using these headphones for primarily tracking vocalists and various musicians. The DT770's are pretty lightweight a... Show More

Awesome quality for the price

I use both this headset and the 80 Ohms version. The difference between those two is really minor but maybe the transients are more well defined in the 250Ohms. In both versions, it's a really awesome headset for the price: - The sound is well balanced: Slightly harsh trebles and too quiet bass to make them perfect monitors for mixes, but I still use them for demos projects. - The audio quality is really good as entertainment and recordi... Most neutral of the three DT-770s

Feb 12, 2018

I have all three version of the DT-770: the 80-ohm, the 250-ohm and the 32-ohm. That last one sounds different enough from the other ones that it really shouldn't be marketed under the same name, IMO. The 80-ohm has the most bass out of all of them, but not boomy, and is overall the smoothest-sounding. It is currently my favourite and I use it as my main reference. (I think that if you're used to a particular sound and know what music is "suppo... Show More

These headphones are one of the most comfortable I've ever worn! The padding are so soft and you could wear them for hours without any discomfort. The set is also very sturdy and feel strong and reliable, but doesn't actually weight that much on the head when worn. Sound-wise, it pretty good down to the very bottom range up to about 6K, when it starts driving a bit too much in my opinion. It's generally okay if listening/mixing most electr... Show More

Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 250 Ohms

Feb 18, 2019

I ordered the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 250 Ohms headphones for recording and mixing tasks. These headphones are of a dynamic closed back design and are suited best at recording and front of house mixing where typically you want noise cancelation from other sources. The sound you get out of this pair of headphones is clear and honest. The reproduction of sound from studio equipment such as preamps, synthesizers and audio interfaces is ex... Show More

Great Sound For a Great Price, a modern studio classic.

Dec 18, 2014

These headphones are my studio headphones of choice, and they are so for a number of reasons: 1. The Value: This aspect drew me in. They are a relatively cheap pair of headphones with great value for money when it comes to the package that's included, easily beating out some other contenders in a similar price range. 2. The Quality of the sound: These headphones sound fantastic. The mids are clear and crisp, the highs well defined, without ... Show More

The build quality is good. It is acceptable that the ears are made of plastic , because that the weight stays to tolerable levels . The ear cushions made ??of suede feel fine and are not as sweaty as leather. This allows for long sessions with high comfort . The level of detail when playing is really fine and convinced the unexcited , almost distortion-free sound , be it in low, mid or treble . In addition, the DT 770 PRO impressed with a spat... One of the best studio headphones on the market!!

Nov 24, 2016

I read a lot before buying my studio headphones, and I'm really not sorry I went with DT-770. Very well made and very comfortable to wear, easy to adjust even in between sessions. The ear pads are really soft and comfy, but you do feel your ears getting really warm or hot even if you use them for a long. Especially if you use it for a few hours during practice. The sound is amazing and there is really nothing bad I can say about this product. Wit... Show More

I took me a while to get used to these headphones. My last pair were Sony MDR5602, and were more forward than these. These are the 250 Ohm version, but they get plenty of level even from my ipod. Once I got used to the softer character of the DT770, I found them very enjoyable to listen to, and accurate for mixing. I use them in conjunction with my Rokit 5 monitors at home to make mixing and mastering decisions. The room I mix in is untreated,... Show More

A great value professional headphone

Mar 22, 2014

I am a fan of Beyer's headphone, the build quality, look, sound and comfortability are all key elements that make Beyer's headphone standout from its peer. Build quality No need to repeat, exceptionally built for life long usage. Comfortability Very comfortable to wear, ear pad is soft and can wear for a long time without getting it to be taken off. Sound I mainly use this for recording given its closed back design. It is not... Show More

My Personal opinion on Beyerdynamic's DT-770 Pro

Aug 8, 2013

As a producer/ engineer it is almost impossible to produce with just studio monitors so i purchased the DT-770 pro's and let me tell you it wasn't a mistake. As my father is a Musician/engineer in france he has always been a loyal customer to Beyerdynamic. One day i was working in his studio and i popped on these cans and instantly i was amazed with the sound quality. The comfort was also very good as i think these days its hard to find good con... great pair of headphones

Oct 10, 2018

I needed new tracking/reference headphones. As I prefer open-back, my choice was between the AKG K702 and this pair of Beyerdynamics. I ended up going straight for the DT-770, end do not regret my choice. These headphones are designed for professional mixing and mastering. They don't emphasize anything, but are just high fidelity in the respective frequency range. I love the supercrisp highs and solid mids. The lows are not boosted, but are there... Show More

I bought these headphones about twi years ago. Also I own AKGs 271 MKII. Everyone says, the AKGs are very neutral and they are. But in my opinion if you're trying to rate the bass of a track (in case of taking the headphones to mix up tracks in addition to your monitors) the AKGs are really hard to do so. With the DT770 it's way more easy. I first thought the Beyerdynamics had a kind of Loudness voicing, but it's just the more bottom they deli... Show More

great sound, slightly heavy to wear - check the Ohms for what you'll be using it for

Dec 4, 2017

i love using the DT-770 while doing field recordings, because it closes so well around your ears, that you actually have a great quiet 'monitoring space' on your ears. i think the sound of the DT-770 is also great for mixing, very clean and reliable, though it gets heavy on my head, as well as locks so tightly around my ears it creates a pressure on the skull after a while. it also does not fold in, so it is quite a big object to carry ... I've read so much about these headphones. I wanted to use them for listening to music. Well, they are nothing special. The sound is OK, there's a lot of low bass if that's what you're after but other than that the sound is a bit sibilant and kind of distant. I expected much more. Solid choice if you want use it as a recording headphone, not the best option for mixing though, since its frequency response curve is far from the ideal (flat), on the other hand its imaging was quite precise. Based on the Reference 3 (software from Sonarworks) there is a +5-6db deviance in the range of 6-11kHz, -6db at 200Hz and -5db at 4kHz.
