Good so far
I have only used it twice so far but for the price I am very happy with it. Easy to setup and has no movement once locked in place. Haven't had a chance to use it yet with heavier lenses but will update once I do.

Terrific!
Much better than I expected. Easy to set up, smooth operation, solid construction to withstand my 5DmkII and 85mm lens. Very happy so far.

RELATIVELY LIGHT TRIPOD HOLDS THE D3S
I use it mostly for bracketed architectural photography. So, it's good to have a sturdy base to work from. It's not the lightest carbon fiber tripod out there, but it is much lighter than my old one. My Nikon D3s sits securely atop the Oben ball head (purchased separately).

Smooth and precise.
Works well with my Manfrotto tripod. Smooth and easy to use. Always great service from B&H, they helped me find the right one at the right price for my manfrotto tripod.

Very good
I got this ball head as part of a kit. Unlike the legs, this ball head did not disappoint me. My only complaint is it is a bit on the heavy side. Mike P. complained that the tension knob teeth would hurt his hand after 15-30 minutes. I can see why he felt that way. I started to get this feeling too until I realised that I did not have to tighten the knob to the extreme to get my camera in a still position. After than, it was all good. That said, I have not used this ball head extensively yet.

Great product
I used this tripod all week during Thanksgiving. I took it just about everywhere we went. It worked great in the water and snow. The ball head is great and has a few different levels on it to make sure your picture is straight.

Small but Mighty
I bought this tripod head to replace one that broke. It's the perfect size. I love the handy control knobs and the ARCA-type release. I have three different ARCA-type plates and they all work great. It's easy to adjust with the knobs in perfect locations and the movement is smooth. I frequently go from handheld to tripod and this product allows me to do that quickly.

Easy to use ball head
I use this ball head by Oben all the time. It is easy to use and set up. It is fairly rugged but I will say it is not top notch. Sometimes tough to make everything tight so it doesn't move. Overall pleased. Fairly lightweight.

Easy to use
This is a very easy to use ball head when you are full of things to take picturesThis is light in weight as well, yet well-built.

Tightens Easily, Holds Strong!
This head tightens easily and holds strong. The quick release plate is useful and convenient.

Everything you need for a great value.
It's great for all photographer's need. Very versatile for studio and on location. I use it for everything.

Solid Construction
I will be using this product primarily for portrait photos and landscape photography. The size of this BC-139 fits perfectly on top of my Manfrotto 055X Pro B tripod. The knobs are perfectly placed and a very smooth while turning. I have a 5D Mark III with a 70-200mm 2.8 lens and so far it works great with this combination. No noticeable slippage or movement while locked down securely.

Depending on your requirement
Let us start with the bottomline: It is a really well made ball head that many might be ignoring. If you have a camera lens setup that is between 5-10 pounds and well balanced this is a very comfortable ball head (be aware that it is rated at 17.5 pounds). I really loved the smoothness of the unit plus I am invested in Arca-type plates. However I use cameras and 600mm lenses that top out at 15 pounds and often require carrying around on the tripo... Good value for quality product
Never let me down. This ball head keeps doing what it should. holding my camera and lens in place. supports up to 18kg. (39 lbs) worked well with my 7d,grip and loaner 2.8 400.Only slight annoyance was the tension setting is easily accidentally adjusted. Usually to the tight side for me. requiring to loosen the tension setting after loosing the ballhead to recompose.

I like it
I don't own other ball heads, but I can't imagine many improvements over this for the money. The lock knobs work fine, but it would be nicer to have fewer turns to lock in place and a more satisfying click or something to indicate the max torque needed to lock has been achieved. But, that is probably wishing for too much at this great price. The base does pan very smoothly when unlocked. The size and appearance of the base matches perfectly with the Slik 700DX PRO TRIPOD and it looks like they were made for each other.

Great head but tripod has a problem
This is a high quality item and works good but it is very tight on all axes and when panning it tends to break loose of the base and start rotating off the stud. It has really been aggravating and I would return everything, tripod included if I was still in the return period. I'm hoping it will loosen up with time and then I will like it. I have the ball head for the tripod too and same thing: if you swing back from a pan it is so tight it breaks free from the base.

Great product
First of all, I'm an amateur. I bought this ball head to use on a monopod. I didn't really need all the other adjustments, just one handed operation. This ball head is perfect for that. It definitely carries what weight I've put on it, and doesn't move when I don't want it to. I have no cons for this product.

So far so good.
This ball head feels solid and sturdy. I'm not sure if other ball heads are lighter than this one. It feels a bit heavy on my carbon fiber tripod. It is very easy to use and holds my camera wherever I want it to be.

Very Good tripod head
I own other open heads and this was the logical choice so that I could use the same quick disconnect head. Very Happy with it . Holds camera firm and steady. Using it with a Nikon D5300 with a Tamron 150 - 600 Lens. Very satisfied - would buy again and recommend.

Happy/Not Happy
This will fit the bill for many photographers. Built fairly well and super lightweight. The levels are awesome to have.Seems a bit small, but I'm getting used to it.

A Great Value
I wanted a compact, lightweight tripod that would support my various cameras (full frame DSLR with lightweight primes, Rolleiflex, and my 4x5 Crown Graphic). The 4x5 is pushing the threshold for sure but it seems steady enough for my needs. It's incredibly light. It's smaller than I expected, too. The twisting leg locks are so nice in comparison to my other tripod's flip locks that really hurt my fingers. Operation is smooth and the exterior fit a... Show More

Great head for my new tripod
I have several Oben heads so this was the logical choice since it used the same quick disconnect mount. Using it with a Nikon D5300 and a Tamron 150-600 and I am completely satisfied. Sturdy, full range of motion.

Great, except for the tension knob
This product is overall great, except for the tension knob. It is really solid. Everything moves really smoothly and the knobs turn fine. The only problem is that the tension knob is all metal with teeth. After just about 15-30 minutes of using it, my hand was so raw and sore that I didn't want to touch it anymore. If Oben updates this model with a rubber tension knob or some other way that my skin isn't being rub down to bone, it would be great.

Good price for quality
The head is feels and looks pretty solid. It's a high quality piece of engineering. The only slight negative is that the panning knob doesn't lock the head in place from turning completely. The big tightening knob requires more turning than I'd like.
