Life is Too Short to Miss a Shot!
The Oben Gimbal Head and Tripod arrived today. A beautiful pairing so easy to put together. My Canon 90D with Tamron 150-600mm or Canon 100-400 lens looks and feels great. I don't have too far to get out and enjoy nature such as the Pelicans Bald Eagles Hawks. I found myself always missing shots. I have always shot hand held with my Canon 100-400 lens rather than on a tripod. (Struggling at times but worth it) When I recently updated to the New T... Show More

I have tried to Rig many things for use in my Vehicle
I can't believe someone finally made a in vehicle camera mount. I put a full size Ball Mount on top and I can't Imagine a better scenario. Well made and built to a pro level grade.

Good sturdy tripod, would recommend.
Solid tripod, good quality, compact and very lightweight for such a tall tripod. Some complains about the center column not stable, but mine is very sturdy and stable. Would recommend.

Great Tripod At Half The Price
I wasn't sure if this tripod was going to work with my Tamron 150-600mm lens attached to a gimbal. It works perfectly well. The tripod is stable and has no issues with the center column. The height is a huge plus since I am over 6 feet tall and have a bad back.

Works great with a Platypod.
I bought this ball head to mount my camera onto my Platypod. I'm very happy with the results.

Great tripod for the money
After hauling around my Induro AT-313 for a few years, it was time to go with something lighter. I wanted a tall and stable CF tripod but found them to be too expensive, until I discovered the Oben CT-2491. I was a bit skeptical having read reviews about issues with the center column but thought I would give it a try since B&H has a great return policy. This is a perfect tripod for my needs. It holds my Sevenoak gimble, Nikon D850 and Tamron 150-600mm lens with no problem at all. The center column works perfectly. The tripod is stable even at its extended height. It's a winner!

Clever gizmo
Clever and well made. I mounted a small ball head on it and I use it to shoot videos with my camcorder in foul weather.

Center post locking is weak link
I still have my Blacks -branded tripod from the 80s and bought this Oben as a gift for my son. Not confident it will provide the same service life as my Blacks and Ive recommended he return it. Solid build, good operation of legs and head operates as advertised; but the center post locking mechanism requires much more tightening than it should to fully secure the post. Otherwise it only takes moderate downward pressure for the whole thing to slo... Show More

Very Strong and Reliable
My camera, a Hasselblad H2 needs a very strong tripod and head. This head is one of the few I trust. Excellent!

Well-made and reasonably-priced tripod head
This is a superb tripod head. It is all-metal (except the rubber pads on the quick release and the bubble level) with a semi-matte black finish. The movement for both the ball head and panorama is damped at the loosest setting, which gives a very smooth feel and reduces the risk that the camera will accidentally fall over during positioning. The scale for the tightening knob is very useful to be able to consistently match the amount of damping fo... Show More

Overall a good value, pretty solid tripod
I've had this tripod for about 2.5 years. Overall it has served me well as it has served as my main tripod over that time (paired with the LH-2510 leveling base and BC-166 ball head). The biggest camera+lens combination I put on it is a Canon 7D with the 70-200mm f2.8, and it handles this without a sweat. I appreciate the height you can get from the legs, but I rarely extend the center column as I find this sacrifices considerable stability. In ... Show More

Good value and strong enough
I use this on a monopod with a long lens to enhance the tilt flexibility. The only downsides are extra weight and the fact the I can't change the base plate for my Acratech quick release plate because of a keyway on the main shaft.

Great but could be better
The Oben BE-126 is a very sturdy head and seems to hold the camera well once everything is tightened down tight Although there are a few things that are a bit annoying. The locking knobs are sturdy although the ball adjustment knob requires a lot of rotation before it is fully locked. The pan knob is fine but is a bit hard to lock down with how small it is. Overall its a great head for lightweight and travel applications and I'm satisfied with it. Its paired well with my Manfrotto 190go! Carbon tripod.

Pretty strong
It holds my Canon 5d Mark iv and 70-200 f4L pretty well when you tighten it. Be careful to not under tighten it then pick up your monopod incorrectly. The weight of the lens and camera can seriously pinch you if you have not tightened up the knob all the way.

It Is a Good Head
I got this head for my monopod. I do not like the head on my monopod. I now use a cheap Gimbal type head on it and love it. This head is to small for my regular tripod. So I will be selling it. But it seems well built and works well. I did put it on my tripod and it held things well. But I want a larger head for my tripod so I will look into Oben when I get the money for one.

Excellent, small ball head
This is a small, high-quality ball head, but should be ok for most DSLR's or mirrorless cameras. I use mine mounted to a Platypod with a Canon 5DIII without the battery grip, when I'm photographing low to the ground.

Heavy but worthwhile buying it
I recognize this ball head is heavy, but by being heavy It now know my camera with all its gear attached wouldn't fall.

Great ball head for equipment
Bought this for a teleprompter setup, but used the LH-2510 instead, but this is a great base for mounting monitors, projectors, whatever I might need. Very versatile.

More plastic than not, but sturdy and strong.
The leg adjuster clamps are plastic, curious to see how well they hold up . Can not fault the XYZ azimuth adjustability. Scope clamp is sturdy and robust.

Both it on Sale at $350 off, can't bet that price of $299.95
Saw the tripod on sale with a tremendous reduction in price, made a comparison of others and it compares to a $1000. one . You won't go wrong and the savings will allow you to buy a Sirui 20/PH20 head which is also a great add on.

Oben Ball Head
I am very happy with the Oben Ball Head. It is very versatile and has allowed me to create much better photographs because of it's ability to allow for different angle of shots.

Met my expectations
Just got back from a week traveling with these legs. I have to say I wish I would had purchased these a long time ago. The few things that could be improved: Having the legs folding inverted for easier packing and low height shots, the legs don't slide as easily as others but this might just take a little lube, and I wish the legs were waterproof. Other then that, I think they are great setup.

Great even with pro equipment!
The ball mount on this thing held a D850 with a Tamron 150-600mm or a Nikon 14-24 f2.8 mounted to it like a boss. The carrying bag is nice but not necessary; I ditched it to save weight when hiking with the tripod. Aldo, hiking with the tripod was a breeze. The padded grips did great protecting my hands from cold metal on 28 degree mornings while they also afforded nice shoulder cushioning when caring things over the shoulder. Did great holding the Magnus GH-M1 gimbal head, as well. All that weight, and it never felt unstable or top-heavy, even with the center extension all the way up.
