Great all around Lens
Fast autofocus, sharp, offers great range. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a cost-efficient lens that still takes great, sharp photographs.

Nice quality
I purchased this lens for an upcoming wedding, I haven't had a chance to take many photos with it yet but the few I have taken I like very much, nice weight to the lens and I couldn't pass on the price, I already own a sigma lens so I love I can use the USB dock with this one also, I needed a low light lens and I'm hoping this one will be just what I need!

I'm loving this lens
I have a set of Rokinon primes (which I love) for my BMPCC 6K but wanted one lens with a good focal range, image stabilization, and decent aperture to use as a walkaround handheld lens. It is all of these things and more. Couldn't be happier at the beautiful footage I've gotten with this lens.

Best lens in its class for the money
I've had this lens in 2 mounts; Pentax K and Nikon F. Both times, it has produced sharp images in minimal light, and with minimum fuss. I've also tried the 17-70 Contemporary that so many people ask as a comparison to this lens, again in both mounts; this lens produces a superior image in any light, period. It's worth it at it's usual price and given the markdown on these the last few months, it's an absolute bargain. If you need a solid lens in this range, you search is over. This is the one.

Excellent
Excellent IQ with my 7200. Very consistent sharp, focus. Much, much higher keeper rate for me than 18-35 (which is famously, consistently, inconsistent with all camera makers regardless of USB DOCK use) The 18-35 is leaving, the 17-50 is staying. Interestingly, to me, the Nikon 7200/Sigma 17-50 combo (AWB) results in warmer colors than the Pentax K-3/Sigma 17-50 combo (AWB) does - a bit cold in my opinion.

Great Lens
I bought this lens as another low light lens in my arsenal and it is wonderful. Highly recommend!

I can't quit this lens.
I had this piece for my Pentax K3-II, and it took amazing pictures in just about any light; for time exposure shots, it was absolutely unbeatable. When I switched systems, I thought I'd try the Sigma 17-70 f/2.8-4 Contemporary instead, because of its updatable qualities with the USB Dock. I got the 17-70 lens at an AWESOME price, but it was a BIG mistake; the images I shot at my nephew's christening were just not as sharp or clear or vibrant... o... Show More

A brilliant almost perfect len
The single and only reason this camera didn't receive 5 stars is because of the chromatic abrasion I've noticed on my T5i. When this lens is wide open and at 17mm or similar the red and green associated with chromatic abrasion is very present in the tightly woven fabrics or similar textures, but if you zoom in a little the abrasion is no longer noticed/visible. The focus on this lens is incredible, probably more macro than 11 at least it feels th... Show More

Exactly what I needed for trip to England
I purchased the Sigma 17 - 50 F2.8 for my Nikon D7200 specifically as the lens I planned to take on a trip to the Lake District in England. The trip was in the last part of this October, and I bought the lens in June so I would have a chance to practice with it. I am very pleased with the lens. The weather in the Lake District is frequently cloudy and rainy in October, so I wanted the full F2.8 capability for taking landscape photos. I also expe... Show More

Great everyday lens
After much thought bought this lens against the Canon equivalent with was almost double in price, so far it has given me sharp images and good definition, will be using it to shoot night events, we'll see how it works.

Best buy for the Buck
First non-Nikon wide-angle lens I have ever bought. I have spent many hours searching for the ideal wide-angle lens. Read tons of reviews both Pro and Con. Love the 77mm lens; clear and crisp images. I feel this lens will become my go to lens as I travel the world. In my opinion the quality is far superior to any wide-angle lens in this price range. Auto focus is spot-on

It Does the Job
This is the go-to lens for my D500 when I want a wide-to-mid-range zoom. I haven't done lens-resolution test on it, but it produces acceptable images at all focal lengths and has reasonable close-focus (although not macro) capabilities. It balances well on a D500 but might feel somewhat front-heavy on a lighter SLR body. This lens combined with the Nikon 70-200/4 (a full-frame lens), makes a versatile kit.

Excellent optics but a couple of problems
Overall this is a fantastic lens, and the current price of $369 is an incredible bargain. But my particular lens has a couple of problems. The lens is very sharp, especially at 50mm, where wide open it is superior to my Nikon 50mm f/1.8g at f/2.8. The 17mm end is a bit softer in the corners at f/2.8 but very sharp at f/4 and above. The fast aperture and effective optical stabilization make it a great lens for hand held photos in low light situa... Show More

Excellent wide angle zoom lens
I've only had this lens for a month but am amazed at the clarity and rich colors I am getting on my Pentax K3. Mostly I have used it on landscapes and southwestern plants in my garden so far. cowboy.

bought on sale, great value, few quirks.
So, first of all, I bought this specifically to go on a Canon C100mk2, which has a cropped sensor. I had gotten the Canon 24-105 f4 with the video camera but with the crop factor it just wasnt wide enough. This little lens has filled the gap, getting me the necessary wide angle with usable image stabilization. The lens quality seems to be fine, but the c100 is 1080p so I dont know how it holds up for stills on a modern DSLR. The build isnt very... Show More

Great General Purpose Lens
I needed a fast semi-wide zoom lens for street photography and traveling and this lens fits those needs perfectly! I would highly recommend this lens. The only thing I dislike about the lens is that the zoom turns the opposite way of standard Nikon lens.

focus and scroll issues
Bought this used with high hopes and noticed the odd scrolling hangups others did right away. Then I noticed serious focus weakness at least in live view. (Used it on a casual shoot for stills and it performed fine.) These two issues have been reported by a number of others so Im going to try the AF fine tune on my D7100 and if that doesnt help it may need to go live in the paperweight collection. : (

Even better than I expected!
I traded in a Canon 15-85, to be able to purchase this faster lens. Admittedly, I miss the range, but am liking it so far. Not doing video, I am surprised that this lens is quieter to focus than I expected, based on other reviews. I have hardly put it to a real test yet, especially in low light, ... But so far, Im pleased!

Great walk around lens
I got this lens so I could just grab my camera and go. Im super happy with its performance up to now. I put this on my Nikon D500 and head out the door. At the $300 price range you cannot do much better. I highly recommend this lens at this price.

Solid
Focus motor could be improved. Not as fast or silent as it could be and the ring turns while focusing. Optically better than the Pentax 16-50 f2.8. Solid, well built, heavy. Excellent value for money and will be the main lens on my K3.
