Quietly Useable

Nov 15, 2019

Unit arrived packed neatly with all documentation for use, and guarantee inside of a sturdy cardboard retail box, inside B+H shipping container shipped outside continental USA with other large items in my order. Prompt delivery via DHL to Australia. The TT-100 is a very easy to fold out and a versatile tripod to set up and use. The legs would only allow use, on a reasonably flat surface. Sturdy metal construction with the cast metal legs, add... Show More

Versatile Enough for Light Videocam Use!

Jan 19, 2013

After reading the specs for the TT-100, I speculated that the tripod could handle my HMC40 Panasonic video camcorder. Though designed for SLR cameras, the TT-100 will support the weight of this camcorder. The smaller base requires centering up the camcorder properly. (Be aware that any tripod with a base this size will not resist wind shake or jostling.) Understanding that the TT-100 is for SLR/DSLR camera use, I am very impressed with the head, ... Show More

Great little tool!

Jul 16, 2012

I've found this tripod to be a great little tool for table top photography. I got it for use with my Canon 7D. It is sturdy enough to hold the camera with the kit lens, as well as the 100mm macro lens (I haven't tried others yet). Although I haven't tried it yet, it should be great for macro shots in the field, as well. Normal tripods aren't much help shooting short flowers and such, but this goes low enough that it should work great for that. Th... Show More

Terrific Table Top Tripod

Jan 27, 2015

As a photographer who enjoys using unusual vantage points when taking pictures, the Oben TT-100 table top tripod is just what the doctor ordered! It's small, but has a very sturdy construction that will support relatively heavy cameras and lenses. For my initial test of the TT-100, I placed my Canon EOS 70D with a Canon 16-35mm wide-angle zoom lens(a fairly heavy lens)on the tripod to capture some images of my dogs while they were attacking their... Table Top Tripod by Oben

Mar 13, 2012

The tripod is used for macrophotography, it is built in a stable and strong manner. I use a D 7000 and a D300s with a 105 mm macro lens in acute angles. The tripod has proven to be stable at each position I have created. The tripod held the camera in the exact position and has proven to be much easier to use than anticipated. This unit allows me to get very close to my subject and when using a software package I take about 20 to 40 shots of each ... Show More

Very portable lightweight tripod

Jun 22, 2015

I bought this tripod to take when traveling and also to get a low viewpoint. It is excellent for both - extremely small and light weight so you could take it almost anywhere, and it definitely provides a low point of view or would be fine on a raised surface. The ball head with a slot to tilt down worked well. It was fine for my Canon 600D but might have trouble with a heavier camera. Other models come with extension columns that might be useful ... Outstanding

Aug 14, 2012

This is a must have tool for any D-SLR owners, it s perfect , sturdy and small so you can even put it in your huge pocket jean, means that it can be with you anywhere. I can't believe it hold securely my canon 1DS Mark III with 70-200 mm f2.8 (non IS) or 24-70 f2.8 or 16-35 f2.8 L II, can you imagine this product holds Pro bodies from all brands, I highly recommend this tool for all DSLR users, I can be very handy someday and you will not be disappointed for top table tripod photography, Macro photography or even many more, I am very happy with this product and it's well made.

WOW, better than expected

May 3, 2017

It is sturdy and solid, well designed and well manufactured. I wanted a small tripod that would allow using it with the legs only partially spread so that it can sit on a window sill or other narrow surface, perhaps in a cathedral or museum where tripods are not allowed. This tripod allows doing that because the friction (resistance) to open the legs is sufficient to support the weight of my micro-4/3s camera. Even if it was not sufficient, having the legs spread from the weight of the camera can be avoided by setting it into the lid from bottles, jars, or other containers.

Point and Shoot Macro

May 31, 2013

I purchased this to add to my small backpack or fanny pack for macro photography, as well as low level shots. It will hold my 50D with a 24-70 lens, but its hard to adjust for compositions, and gets seriously tippy when I add a lens tube or two. I ended up holding the tripod down to steady it. Worked great with my smaller point and shoot, and my G15. Steady, easy to adjust, slips into a side pocket of my backpack. With the lighter weight of the smaller digital cameras, you can modify the angle of each leg on the tripod and it will hold position well.

Very Handy

Jan 16, 2012

I have bought a few of these small tripods over the years and I really like this one. - Low profile: with the ball head it stands 4.5 but you can remove it get down to 2.5 (with no leveling) - Folds up very compact - Feels substantial and seems like it will hold up well to use over time. - solid metal construction - Legs have rubber tips for stability and to protect surfaces. Everything about this one just feels well designed and well-built. Great for stills, but also seems to be ideal for a small video camera for static shots (not a fluid head)

Does not support advertised weights

Jul 10, 2017

I intended to use this with a spotting scope for bench shooting. After removing the mini ball head and placing a light spotting scope and fluid tripod head (weighing less than 5 lbs total) on the unit, the legs fold downward to their minimum height. This resulted in the elevation adjustment arm of the fluid head touching the table, enabling only a very shallow elevation capability of just above 0 degrees. Attempts to raise the legs always results in legs folding back down to minimum height. Very disappointed. I will be returning this.

Does the Job

Aug 28, 2014

Great little TT tripod. I intend to use it for travel to Europe. I wanted something that I could put on a retaining wall or even on the ground to get a steady shot. This unit is well made, light, and it has enough leg spread to support my D7100 and 18-200 zoom (at 200mm) provided one leg is extended directly under the lens. By using a heavy rubber band around the legs, the unit can be kept at a greater height (4-5) even with the full weight of a DSLR & zoom lens. Be sure to buy a bubble level for your camera's accessory shoe.

Perfect for traveling

Great little tripod that fits in my camera bag. It's great for use with a timer, long exposures and time lapse when you can't bring a full size tripod with you. It holds six pounds, and I use it with a Canon 50d and 24-105 f/4L without a battery grip with no problem. It can be a little difficult to adjust with a heavy lens and obviously it is small and doesn't compare to a high end tripod, but if you're careful it's great for what it is. Also really nice for wide shots when you want to get low to the ground for perspective.

Well Made, Good Value

Jun 5, 2012

I purchased two of these to hold my 580EXII and 430EXII during table-top photography. They are well made and compact. I previously purchased a very inexpensive tripod and was disappointed with the flimsiness and lack of support they gave. The Oben tripods are far, far superior. As with any of these type tripods, they will tip over if you tilt the flash on the ball head. There is almost no counter-balancing weight. If the speedlites are inclined even slightly, you will need to anchor the back legs with a small sandbag.

Great little tripod.

Dec 17, 2013

I bought this tripod to use with my Sony NEX-6 camera as well as the my Sony DSC-QX10 Smartphone lens camera. I have not had much time with the tripod out and about yet, and this review is strictly on build and quality. I originally purchased the Manfrotto Pixi Mini which I really wanted to like because of the trusted brand and nice design. However when I received it the lock button was a bit stiff. I ended up returning it. The Oben TT-100 is a very well build and sturdy tripod. I'm looking forward to using it.

Rock solid

Sep 26, 2011

The most solid mini tripod I've even found. The Manfrotto version had a lot of flex (ok, you have to push quite hard), but the TT-100 was totally solid. The reason I have docked it one star is that on mine, one of the legs does not quite fully open meaning it is slightly on the slant. This does not affect performance as it has a ball head, but is visually annoying. You can remove the ball head it comes with and fit any other 1/4 accessory. I have fitted a bigger ball head and used this with a heavy DSLR.

great tabletop tripod

Jan 16, 2013

I use the Oben tripod with my Joby i Griptight mount for my iPhone - it's great for recording interviews and meetings and for shooting a talking head with the iPhone. Works just as well for great candid stuff hanging out with friends - after a few minutes, everyone forgets it's there It's compact, can fit in a pocket and is plenty sturdy. Works great with the Griptight phone holder mounted either horizontally or vertically. For what it's meant to do, I see nothing to complain about.

Decent quality feeling little tripod

Jun 14, 2016

The tripod itself is pretty alright, sturdy and feels like its made well. I dont like the cork base material they used as it squises too easily and is too slippery, and as a result sometimes the ball head comes undone with an accidental twist. The ball head that comes with it is pretty ok, although the small knob to tighten requires a good amount of effort to make tight enough to not slip. Overall very worth the money though, but maybe best suited to cameras smaller than dslrs.

Dynamite in a small package

Jul 12, 2015

Needed a small table top tripod that I could carry with my gear when I needed one for those tight, hard to get to places. One that was made to handle the weight of my DSLR. After reading the reviews on the B&H site I went with this one. Wow can not believe how small, but yet so strong and well made. I could not be more pleased. It handles the weight of my camera with no problem at all and fits in my gear bag without taking up valuable space.Just exactly what I was looking for.

Very Nice Table Top Tripod

Jun 28, 2017

This is a great tripod for an Olympus system or other light-weight use. It can hold an Olympus E-M1 MK2 with the 300mm f/4 lens with ease. That combination only weighs 4 lbs 10 oz, and the tripod is rated at 6 lbs. All Other Olympus MFT lenses are lighter so I can use it with any Olympus body-lens combination. I believe the same would be true for all MFT brands and many, but not all APC, combinations. Its size makes it easy to transport, and only weighs 7 ounces. Recommended!

Very good small tripod

Apr 26, 2015

This is the second TT-100 tripod I buy; the first one I gave it away as a gift. Despite this tripod is called a table tripod, I use it for landscape photography. Because of its size you can carry it easily in any small bag, or even in a jacket pocket. Although it looks very small and weak, it is very stable. I can put a Canon 6D with the 24-105 lens without any problem. Perfect for those days when you can't or just don't want to carry the usual big tripod. Recommended 100%.

Wonderful tabletop tripod!

Apr 12, 2013

I like to carry a small tripod with me for those times when I don't feel like carrying a full-sized one or when where I am shooting at does not allow tripods. I use this one when I am shooting long exposure out of the John Hancock Observatory in Chicago. They don't allow tripod use there, but I park myself by a window with this little thing and no one notices. It's strong enough for my Canon 40D and a 17-50 Tamron zoom. It slips easily into my Shootsac and it's easy to use.

Very nice for the price

Jan 9, 2015

A shockingly good product for a shockingly low price. Usually you get what you pay for. Rarely you get more: This is one of those times. The legs are solid and the ball is surprisingly strong for being so small. I've been using it for macro photography with my GX7 and 45 2.8 macro lens. It feels quite secure. I also got a Arca type quick release to replace the screw-off platform so that all my cameras with Arca type plates can be quickly put on this little fella.

Excellent Table-Top Tripod

Jun 19, 2012

The TT-100 is strong built, balanced, convenient and easy to use. It will easily support a dslr and for my use, I can easily take it outside, sit it on a plastic lawn chair or table, on a starry night for some quick, stable pictures of the night sky. With a Nikon D5000 and an 18-55mm lens there is perfect balance. The tripod is very strong and balanced, with excellent workmanship. Well pleased with the TT-100 and the price and B&H provides excellent service.
