The Best Value in Photography

Feb 15, 2014

This camera is most you can get for your money. It has all the features that you would ever want in a full frame camera. The 24 megapixels is enough to do tight crops and make large prints but not too much to take your time waiting for the image to load in Photoshop. *

Nikon got it right

Feb 15, 2014

I was contemplating buying a refurbished d600 but was hesitant because of all of the reports of dust and oil. I'm a professional and clean my cameras regularly but what if this is a prelude to some bigger problem down the line. Finally, I just figured that the d610 was the better choice and so far i'm glad I purchased the camera. I have only used it on one job but looking at the images they are stunning. I made many photographs with available lig... Show More

Love this camera

Feb 14, 2014

Well after months of research and debating between this camera and the d800. I decided to go with the d610. I am glad I did. The one thing that had me caught up on choosing to buy this camera was the auto focus points being clustered tightly in the middle. I was worried about my composition cause I like to have subjects off center in focus. So I changed the setting on the camera to have back button focus instead of the default shutter release but... Another Home Run For Nikon

Feb 12, 2014

You could not ask a camera to provide more features and options. It allows every creative tool for stills and the video is pretty darn fine. Hopefully Nikon and Adobe will come to terms with a simple fix for NEF(Raw) images files that doesn't involve a converter or an upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop. B& H is simply the best camera store in the world, period!

This camera is a gift from my husband. I am a hobby photographer and this camera is easy to use. I have had it a little over a month now and it takes fabulous shots. I have taken photos at the higher ISO settings and the photos have been great.

exactly what i needed

Feb 5, 2014

I was looking for a camera that would have allowed me to get professional shots that would have led me to work in all kind of lighting situations. I am incredibly happy with my choice. The D800 is considered to be the best now, but I feel that the D610 is a great choice too for a more affordable price. If you are a time-lapse photographer, you can set the specific time frame on the D610 too. It is worth considering it.

Handy with great photo quality

Feb 5, 2014

I do pretty any photo, I just like to have camera with me often a take pictures of whatever I like, i.e. mostly street photo. So far I'm vey pleased, build quality great, lightweight, although smaller then expected, I have quite large hands and although I bought battery grip as well, D300 and other pro bodies just grip better. But who wants to carry that excessive weight around? Picture quality amazing, so far no flaws. I especially like U progra... Show More

very very very very nice

Jan 31, 2014

There are a ton of excellent things about this camera, the list goes on and on. But I'll just point out the things that I didn't like so much. Not being able to change aperture in live view is ridiculous. Watering down midrange products to coral people into the high range is not the way to go. And that's where the cons list ends for me. The camera is phenomenal. Nikon has really hit a sweet spot with this entry level full frame camera. It's the Goldilocks camera.

Worth the wait and the weight

Jan 30, 2014

Travel photography (US, Africa) and attempts at expressive street and nature photography and family portraits are the exclusive but the main ways in which I use my D610. Heavy for my oft-operated-on, 64-year-old wrists, but worth the effort. So many capabilities; so much for me to learn I am thrilled to have this as my last camera and look forward to getting additional lenses to complete a set that I have begun with the 24-70mm f/2.8 Nikon.

Awesome images

Jan 30, 2014

I had D300 for five years, just bought D610 this month. Image quality appear to be twice better than D300. I'm happy to move to FX. I just wish it has built-in WIFI. Maybe at this point Nikon cares more about image quality than WIFI. The WU-1B device does not connect to PC using a router, only mobile devices. I bought Nikon 1.8 and 2.8 lens. Aperture mode doesn't appear consistent in exposure level from wide opening to smaller apertures. The imag... Show More

Nice Camera!!

Jan 25, 2014

I bought the D610 as a second body to my D800. I wanted the D600 when it first came out but due to the oil and dust issues, i decided to wait. Glad I did. This camera takes excellent photos and is light enough to carry all day, hanging from my neck or shoulder. Believe all the hype. It is truly a great FX camera.

Bottom of the top line, great for any

Jan 16, 2014

This is an entry full frame camera, great for any level photographer. I bought it as a gift for my Father. He is not a high-tech person, and this camera was simple and easy to use. Also love the lens that came with it, 28-300mm is perfect for him because he doesn't need to buy another lens (maybe). I was comparing this to Canon 6D, and finally settle on this for three reasons, 1. simple to use, 2. SD-Card slots, 3. nice lens that came with it.

Wonderful Upgrade

Jan 14, 2014

My D90 never worked properly. I have forum posts all over the place. I thought it was me. I took the plunge after much consideration. I shoot running kids, stills, and sports. Haven't tried it in sports so I can't comment on how it performs but I am thrilled with the results with portraits and stills. I purchased the 70-200 f2.8 lens and tested it with both cameras. What a difference in sharpness, exposure, and correct focus. I am very happy. I've read about focus points being clustered in the center but I haven't found this to be an issue as of yet.

Just used 2 new D610's at a Wedding and they performed great. Photos were better than what oi usually get with my D700. Files were a lot larger but manageable. All around great camera. The AF did hunt a little more than D700 but I can work around that.

Fantastic FX body.

Jan 10, 2014

I am a semi-pro and this is my first FX body purchase. It took me a long time to decide whether or not to upgrade but am so happy I made the jump. I have shot with many DX Nikon bodies over the years (with FX lenses) and I am very impressed with this FX body. If you are on the fence like I was, make it happen and you won't regret it or rent one and you'll see the difference. I am very detail obsessed and picky with my shooting so switching up to ... Jan 10, 2014

Glad I've made to move from a mid-consumer (D5000 series) Nikon camera to this model. Using the same 50mm f1.4 Sigma lens, I can tell the difference between the two cameras ... the full frame sensor of the D610 alone justifies my upgrade. The D610 is heavier, but it still feels good in my hand. The D610 does have lots of features and functions, many of which I'll probably never use. I'm quite impressed with quality of my photos shot at a high ISO... Show More
