Slik Tripod
Nice unit. Not as sturdy as I had hoped and the ball head does not quite hold the camera in a vertical position....tends to slowly drop down which is disappointing. Otherwise it's a nice unit for the money.

It's this tripod or none at all!
This is a great, super lightweight tripod for the money. I have the much larger and heavier (but also great) Slik 700DX Pro legs with a sturdy ball head for "serious" work, but its heft often causes me to leave it at home. This is a great alternative that allows me to at least level my camera and steady it to a large degree, and now I have no excuse to not bring a tripod along. It's a little wobbly, I'll admit, but I've been putting too much weight on it anyway (Nikon D750 and 18-35mm). Regardless, it's still better than hand-holding or even a monopod, especially with good technique.

Decent Tripod..ideal for beginners
Don't get me wrong the quality is good, material is awesome, aesthetically is really nice looking. My personal issue is the head and how flimsy it is. Head is not that strong so know that sooner or later the camera will tilt all the way down and you will get a mini heart attack and the legs are a bit on the flimsy side but then again for the price one is paying I'mok with it..just change the head and try to be even more still around the tripod I guess.

Overall good value for the money
Seems sturdy and tripod is easy to manage. Lightweight but seems sturdy. The ballhead is perfectly functional but the design/placement of the knobs is suboptimal, making the head a bit difficult to adjust. Nonetheless, I do recommend this as a good value for the price.

Flimsy legs and unstable head
Easy to set up, but the legs are a little unstable, the 3lb camera moved when I pressed the shutter release, and the cork seal in the head became warped.

legs are light weight and strong, head is not that precise
I bought it for the legs, My son has one, and I ended up upgrading the head on it for him. as well I have a nice vintage Cullman head I am using on these Slik legs, and the combo is light weight, strong, and easy to adjust. I found the head that comes with it not very precise, even for a light weight camera. The legs with my upgraded head can easily support my Nikon D600 with moderate sized lenses. Nice travel tripod where you don't have to be on your kness to use it

Great little tripod, nice and light
This is the perfect tripod for traveling. Its light so that carrying it on hikes isn't a problem. The ball head and quick release clip allows me to position my camera so that I am able to get the perfect angle for my shot, but I can take the camera off quickly if need be. The tripod supports my camera well, and I am not worried about my camera hurtling towards the earth unexpectedly from a failed tripod. If it's a little windy it'll stay put (I s... Show More

Interchangeable Parts with Slik Sprint Mini II
Discovered last night that the longer center column of the Sprint Pro II is interchangeable with the shorter center column of the Sprint Mini II. For my preferences, this is a win-win, as the Spring Pro II is already tall enough, so switching out the center column brought the weight down to 2.0 lbs. The longer column from the Sprint Pro II gives the Mini II an extra 3.3 inches, bringing it's maximum height up from 43 to a more reasonable 46+ and 16 folded length and 1.8 lbs.

Travel Tripod
This has been a very nice travel tripod. I drive with it just behind the seat - it is very quick and easy to setup, even on uneven road shoulders. I travel with it and a bean bag that can be set on the car - the bean bag is quicker, but the tripod is nicer. I also like the height it can reach for asltrophotograpy (with only camera and not through a scope). Makes it easy to see through the viewfinder or monitor. I would not use this in high winds, it is a light travel tripod.

Nice size and weight for travel
The Slik Pro II w/ ball head seems to be well built and useful. It's a reasonable size (maybe a little long at 18-19) and weight for travel. The ball head saves some weight and I assume would work well, but I decided to return this for the same tripod with the 3-way pan head. It's heavier but probably easier to use. The 4 stars is because of the potential limitation os the ball head.

this little guy is AWESOME!!!
Never thought that a tripod would make taking pictures so much more enjoyable but lemme tell you...IT HAS!!! It was very light to carry around and it is very sturdy. We planted the legs in rocky sandy areas and it was fine! Love it!!!

Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for a small, lightweight tripod for a GoPro camera. This one works just fine.

I like it, better than others!
I give this product 5 stars, although I will admit I have very small experience with tripods in general. Firstly I was worried about the ball head being strong enough to hold my dslr with certain lenses. I have a Vivitar 70-210 series 1 that is a beast. As shown in the picture, it does hold it be even changing the setting or touching the camera in any way will cause the framing you have set up to drop. I still think this is better than other trip... Christmas present that wowed
my son wanted a tripod to hold his gun, but when he got this one, he stated that he will be using it for EVERYTHING! my husband used it that day to hold his camera for videoing the gift exchange, and my son took it to the range the next day. all in all, really, really nice!

Great lightweight backpacking tripod
Backpacking hunting deep into the mountains to find coues whitetail deer is a common activity in the Southern Arizona. The serious hunters will use optics to locate these secretive deer. The use of a tripod and high magnification binoculars is common practice. The tripod and binoculars can add a great deal of weight. We are always looking for ways to lighten the load. The Slick Pro II GM tripod is light yet sturdy enough for the job. The ball head was removed to use a Oben BE-108T Ball Head. The modified package works great even with the heavy 15 x 56 Swarovski binoculars.

Good travel tripod
Needed lightweight compact tripod for hiking, etc., without breaking the bank. Got the ballhead because my other tripod is pan & tilt. It was easy to open and close. Fits on my backpack when not in use. Gets camera very low to the ground when needed which I cannot do with my other tripod. Had to tighten the knob very tight when using my DSLR with zoom lens (just over 3 lbs total weight) in the portrait position but otherwise it worked well.

Money well spent, unless
This is a fine light duty tripod, well constructed and for the price probably worth the money. You will not be panning and tilting while rolling video! For Locked down shots, sure. And you may have to use your WiFi link to trip you shutter for long exposures, but you will at least have a tripod with you, as opposed to not having a tripod with you.

I would buy another one good value
Very convenient to deploy. I use it with my new Nikon DF with short prime glass and my 24-85. It is usable with my 70-200 2.8 but great care must be taken and keep a low center of gravity with one of the legs front and center under the glass. Good for general shooting, landscapes, and portraits. It is much lighter than expected and fits perfect on my backpack. The only negative aspect is the black paint immediately chipped off of the quick releas... Show More

Light and sturdy
I researched the purchase and was torn between this one and a heavier more expensive one as I was afraid this one may be too cheap. I find it sturdy and light enough that I can put it on my back with my other equipment and go. Later I can upgrade to a bigger one if my needs change and I will always have this one for travelling or hiking. The legs extend and collapse well, the ball head is easy to use and gives good range . Nice, light, quick setup, quick breakdow
I picked this up before a bikepacking trip where I would be making a short DSLR film. Needed something small and lightweight, that I access quickly from the side of my back. It performed extremely well on that trip. The ability to remove the center column to get low to the ground is really valuable. I actually keep the center column removed, but bring it along, as I rarely find myself needing the extra height. While I haven't had it long, thus fa... Show More

Light and Versitile
This tripod is just what I've been looking for to travel with and use with my bridge camera. I like the fact that it is high enough for me (I am 5'4) to look through my viewfinder without bending over. It is very light but seems sturdy. I need to use it more before I can decide whether the ball head is sturdy enough.

great inexpensive tripod
This is a fairly lightweight tripod that is light enough to hike with, but sturdy enough to function well. It an inexpensive, good quality tripod. I mostly will use it when traveling or hiking. Maneuverable and easy to use.

Sturdy, simple
I recently bought this tripod for my wife's DSLR, because I already owned one. The reason I bought a second one of these is because mine has held up to WAY more abuse than it was intended to. I use it to support a 13 lb. rifle. A small company called PRS sells this tripod with a rifle cradle because they found it to be the most rugged and lightweight for the money. Mine gets strapped to my pack wherever I go and has had many shots fired off of it, both through rifles and cameras. It has never failed me.

Cool Little Tripod
I needed a small travel tripod but wanted something that would still support my MarkII5D with my 24-70 lens attached. So I did what another reviewer did and changed the ballhead. I now have this easy to carry tripod with my manfrotto 498Rc4 ballhead attached. When I come home from Italy I'll switch it back. I now have two great tripods that function the way I want for 1/2 the cost. I also purchased the reducer screw that allows me to go from a 3/8 to a 1/4. I'm a 135lb woman and this setup is light enough for me to deal with easily.
