In love!
So I am officially in love with this grip action ballhead. No more screws, no more 10 minutes of adjusting, just grip, move and you're ready to shoot. I do a lot of portrait and event work, and I need something that can react as fast as I do. This ballhead is perfect for that. I use it with my Canon 5D mark II and L glass and have no problem whatsoever. The selling point for me was that the camera sits on top of the grip. That made me feel a lot more secure about my camera sitting up there. Clear locking of the camera onto the grip was also important.

straightforward
purchased for use with a spotting scope. Seem more straightforward than a ball head for this use. It does grab a bit as you shift from free to motion, but still able to stop on target.

Definitely worth the investment
The grip action joystick is so easy to use I can't believe I've gone on so long without it! No more having to adjust 3 different knobs to move the camera to the angle you desire, simply squeeze the joystick and within seconds you can have it where you want: angled up or down, left or right or tilted in any direction, including vertical!

A good buy.
I've been using this product for a few weeks now and found it exactly how it was reviewed by some other pros and amateurs alike. With the proper legs this head is very good and I can't thank more to the author of a book who recommended this piece in hi sbook.

Excellent product.
I use this with a Canon 1Ds MarkII and a Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8 IS lens, which is a pretty heavy combination. That weight has no effect on the head whatsoever. This is also my first ballhead head, and the range of motion and precision is phenomenal. It simply stays exactly where you leave it! I like it a lot.

Great for Macro!
I just purchased this with a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod. I have used it to take pictures of my wife's jewelry. It is extremely easy to tweak the position of the camera for a better angle on a subject. It appears to be built like a tank. I expect to enjoy this for many years to come.

When did you buy it?
Now I love this head, it still serves me very very well. However I bought it over a year ago and I guess back then (and when they first came out) they had a production problem. I am missing a few screws here and there, thats ok, but the head loosens itself over time. All of you should be on the look out for this. No matter how tight you wind the friction gauge it will get looser and looser to the point that eventually just the act of putting a bo... Show More

This is fantastic!
This thing is so natural to use. Effortless. I simply love it and will never go back to my traditional heads.

So convenient and quick!
I've envied this 'pistol grip' ballhead for too long, atop the tripods of other photographers; finally visited the B&H NYC store in person, and this was the one thing I was determined to get on my short visit. I'm very happy with this ballhead. I have an Induro carbon-leg tripod and an Induro (tradtional) ballhead which I'd used for a few years. While that ballhead worked fine, I would invariably have to adjust all 3 knobs on it, repeatedly, duri... Show More

Truly ergonomic
I have been using this grip for about two years now and performs flawlessly. The tension may be adjusted easily. The large grip makes it easy to adjust position. The only con is the fact that the grip is large, but there is no way around that.

Not what I hoped
I used this product on a tripod for close up and macro photography and low light photography. It held my camera well. The quick release plate being one directional is a little difficult to master. Biggest problem is that it either allowed me to point from level up or down, not both.

easy to use
Very easy to use, the grip does not get in the way. Can be put in any position very easily.

Fast and Simple
The ball head is used on a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod. This combination is vary light and easy to set up and use. Camara locks onto the ball head quick and the hand grip allows complete movement. once the hand grip is released, you are ready to shoot. No messing around.

Great product
The ballhead sticks a little, but it is a great product. I find it very convenient when framing subjects to adjust and am very happy with the purchase.

Amazing
I will never have any other type of head. Once you own one of these, you'll be sold for life. The grip is not too hard to pull in like I've seen stated in other reviews. This makes taking pictures way too easy.

Lasted few months
Im not so happy with this product. Bought it about 1 half years and since i use DSLRs with telephotos as its supposed to work with, its weak, cant hold firmly a Canon 5D Mark II with a 100-400 or a 70-200. I believe that to be able to have a steady head for this kind of equipment i should get the ones that tell you that can hold up to 35 lb, no mater your camera and lens only weights 10lb or less. I looked in to it, and it seems that the tension screw blew up, i could not give it a harder tension to support the bigger lenses, it even was loosen when no presure applied to the grip.

Incredible Technology, Solid Build!
What an amazing piece of technology! This head is super awesome and I have no complaints about it. It's easy to use, fits on sticks very nicely, and gives great stability and range of motion. I love this thing!

An Excellent Item
Limited use so far has been excellent. I thought that I might have a problem when I would move the camera on the ball but a 3-axis bubble level made it easy.

Versitility
With one hand I can completely control the camera aim leaving the other free to operate camera controls.

Just what I was looking for
At first I was concerned about the pistol grip system. But once I started using it is so fast and simple to re-align where to aim. I recommend it. Sometimes it does jerks a bit when you let the grip got to fix position.

A very nice accessory for my tripod....
This was the best find in my search for a convenient and rock sold attachment to allow fast adjustment in all planes for my DSLR camera. Smooth and adjustable and very easy to use. With the quick change base it is a quick and safe system to mount your camera.Very nice fit and finish.

Action Grip? Yes it is.
The grip is a little large for my tast, but other then that minor thing it is a great ball head for the price.

Great! So much fun!
Macro, portraits, landscapes, night photos (long exposure)... It's truly maneuverable! I love how I can put it just where I want it. This was the best choice for me at this point. It's a good quality piece for a great price. Being a beginner enthusiast it would have been a mistake to buy something that was of less quality.

Everything they promise!
Another great grip action head from one of the top companies in the biz. Easily holds my 6 lb setup, even in a stiff wind. I combined this head with the 190XPROB legs.
